In Namibia a homeless teenager broke into a home while the family was gone for the weekend. He took a shower, cooked himself simple meals, watched television the whole weekend. He cleaned the whole house before he left including washing the sheets he used. He was still caught because the house had cameras. Another family adopted him after reading his story in the newspaper.

I used to work for a home improvement service company. We had a borrower that had some sort of mental disorder. The police always knew when he didn’t take his meds because he would break into someone’s home, make himself something to eat, clean up after himself, leave $100 on the table with a note to replace the window he broke. True story.

Happened to me in SF, some dude climbed the fire ladder and went up 4 floors to my unlocked window and went in my kitchen and took a shower, took my laptop and ps3. I felt so violated. Crazy thing is the neighbors in the complex behind me saw the whole thing but didn't realize the bottom floor windows was the basement not the 1st and sent the police to the wrong floor. Never leave your windows open or unlocked, I don't care how high up your apartment is.
