@Noah K God's children are tasked to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God's works 😄! That the truth is known and all are without excuse.
      Matthew 24:14 KJV
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
      Psalm 96:3 KJV
3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.
      Psalm 105:1 KJV
1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
      John 14:6 KJV
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
      Matthew 10:33 KJV
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
      John 15:22 KJV
22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
      Romans 10:15 KJV
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

    • Noah K
      Noah K 8 days ago +1

@Jesus Saves! actually nowadays especially this country people act like everyone should believe in the Bible or Jesus and try to force religion into peoples beliefs which is unnecessary. Also why the hell are you even here in a phone teardown? This isn’t a proper place to spread your “religious beliefs” here, it’s common sense.

    • Jesus Saves!
      Jesus Saves! 8 days ago

@Noah K Did the newspaper force you to read what was on it? Did your phone force you to read the time when turned on? This same logic is applied to me. Neither I or any children of God force anything upon anyone. Everyone has freewill to accept or deny Jesus Christ.
In case you misunderstand what I say, informing everyone on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God's works is not forcing anything.

    • Noah K
      Noah K 8 days ago +1

@Jesus Saves! we don’t need your religious beliefs in a phone teardown video lmao. I hope you’re not trying to force people to join your religion.

I love this new iPhone line up, mainly cuz of this exact reason. The ONLY thing Apple really screwed over with the regular models is the lack of 120hz... If it only had that one singular feature it'd be a MUCH better value.

The problem with the screen replacement is that you should always disconnect the battery first before doing anything to your phone. This means to change the screen you need to open the back aswell to disconnect the battery first

The thing that blows my mind is how a lot of people are finally impressed that the inside is different even though the exterior looks similar to the old phone. Don't people realize that the moment a new/different SoC has to join the circuit that the whole motherboard has to be designed to accommodate the new chip, simply because the final shape looks similar to previous one doesn't mean not work has been done. Or maybe people finally believe their bs when they look at the exterior and say you can hardly spot any difference, that it means there's actually none?

Shoutout to Ridge wallets! I got the key holder a while back, and after some abuse one of the screws holding the pocket clip came off of it when I took it out of my pocket. It's interesting that international versions still have the SIM tray but the US version is just a block of plastic they added in place for that SIM reader area. I wonder if you can put the sim reader from an international phone into a US phone and make a tray for it to work....

You can use dampening mats on the inside walls of the speaker box to get the same results as the balls do like in real speakers. That would be better actually since that will loose less volume inside so bass (or whatever we can call it on a phone speaker) could be a bit better. But does not look like the iPhone have that either so..

wow, it is a pretty nice that they thought about putting the chipset facing the back side of the phone. mobile phone coolers will be able to easily cool it now. unlike android phone manufacturers who made the cooler but with their phone not having anything connecting their chipset to the back to take advantage of those coolers. it still works but for extremely heavy games, the phone still become extremely hot with the coolers only helping it to at least not thermal throttle.
still not gonna buy it though, my XS can still run all the games I play pretty much at max settings.

I love how everyone compliments Apple for their pull tabs for the battery but as someone who worked at an ASC, I can say it's rare that they both pull clean: Simply learn proper ways to repair things, people. For Samsung devices simply buy some self laminating sheets, heat them up so the glue bonds and you have a thin yet rigid sheet of plastic that will fit between the frame and bend to get under the battery: Wedge it a tiny bit to create a ramp that you can then apply a FAR LESS volume of 99% ISO along which will get under the battery now, then simply slide it back and forth cutting the adhesive while reapplying a bit of ISO. I can get a battery out of a Samsung device without puncturing the poly wall or bending in any way in about 10sec or less.

@Randalmcdaniel bro, you are talking bullshit. First of all, what game are you even talking about haha? Secondly, i don't use my phone for gaming. I use it to browse, watch netflix or youtube and communicate. At home, i have a 3k computer which is more worth than any apple device and at work i don't need to play games. Beside that, i think you never actually saw the Play Store. The Play Store is way better organizied, simpler to use and faster (and doesn't show an ad at the first result if you search for something lmao).
Secondly, only because one thing is better, doesn't mean, that an brand is better. You named one thing which a lot people barely use. Wow, i'm so impress.

@Racer Shotz iPhone, without a doubt, is still the best phone in the market in terms of design, stability, smoothness, consistency and (standby/idel) battery life. But it is boring AF, and it does not act like a USB as Android phones do. I find using an Android makes my life much more easier, so I still stick to it. I actually love the screws everywhere, much better than having everything glued. I do admit that I stopped doing them somewhere around the iPhone X, so I don't know how hard it was since then. But it doesn't really matter how easy it is when you can't do it anyway because you get locked out of features by stupid software.

As you can see, Jerry has also approved of the right, left pocket theory. Right pocket always has phone only and left pocket is for everything else

It doesn’t matter how modular the phone is if all parts are paired and software locked to the motherboard.

I’m always giggling at the thought of how phone companies deal with water resistance.
Like a while ago I assumed there’d be rubber lining across the phone, just like the smaller parts, but all the companies instead went: “let’s just glue the phone together. Let’s REALLY glue them boys down. Oh yeah. Sticky time all around. :)”
Also if apple is kind enough to do something like this easier iPhone repair, I feel like it’s probably because they’re about to screw us over by taking out the charge port or something soon, like the sim.

@- Björn - ok, counterpoint, most Android phones have eSIM and a SIM tray as well. You can still use the eSIM for your normal data plan and have whatever perceived benefit you're thinking of, while also still having easy international travel.

    • - Björn -
      - Björn - 6 days ago

@Joe Murphy not being able to activate the phone with a carrier is still different from making it completely unattractive to steal an iPhone due to the traceability when the SIM cannot be removed

    • Joe Murphy
Joe Murphy 6 days ago +4

@- Björn - phones retain their IMEI number regardless of SIM, and if you report it stolen, your carrier will add it to the database of phones blocked from activating on most any carrier.

@Lordium I think there are more major problems in Russia right now than not being able to use an USA iPhone outside of the USA (note that the sim tray is only removed from the USA models)

    • Lordium
      Lordium 6 days ago +4

@- Björn - no. E-sim makes you vulnerable. What if it isn’t supported anymore in your country? For example, in russia, right now is impossible to install an esim.

every other reviewer completely glanced over this fact and decided to focus on saying how much of a useless upgrade it is, but this is ab huge you get an up to date iPhone that is cost effective to repair that's 6+years of usability alone and it's a decent phone already, sure it's 100% a recycled iPhone 13 but if you were using an iPhone 8 and want an upgrade this is a very good option I'd legitimately consider this one just because of the repair factor

Yo Jerry, use double-sided suction cups that grab the front and back. Also, put the phone on a hot plate at 85 degrees celsius to disperse heat evenly. If you must pry, you can use two iSesamos next to each other at the bottom of the phone with 99% isopropyl alcohol or denatured ethanol for more spread-out surface tension so as to not break the screen.

  • Ro Ro

As the manager of a electronic repair shop, I despise this. Reason being is that most of the time, when a customer brings in a damaged iphone, the back is much more damaged than the front. The fact that they are making the board vulnerable on the back with an exposed board rather than the front, which generally has more protection due to the lcd being slightly thicker as well as most cases emphasizing protection to the front, this worries me. I feel as if Ill be seeing a lot more non repairable devices due to this change

Finally. I might enjoy an iphone now.
I love it when before people were like "send it in, duh."
To who, exactly? Closest apple store is about 500 km out, and they dont even do repairs. I'd probably have to send it out of country or maybe even all the way across to the only repair store i know of in country.
This 10% easier repair job made repairing an iPhone about 5000x easier for me

@Knwgt fair but some light sealer should do the trick well. All you essentially have to do is run a line carefully around.
Though tbh i dont think itll matter too much in day to day as the tight fit of the screen natirally stops a lot of water. It probably won't survive a swimming pool, but neither will a lot of phones
