The archeology in Minecraft is the opposite of a letdown. I had zero expectations yet the experience is so immersive and engaging. Felt like a kid creating scenarios in the backyard. You can’t understand it until you try it

I went a whole 2 years without watching Gem and I feel so bad because I kinda forgot about her🥺I had introduced all my friends to her and one of them came up to me on a text message and told me Gem had started a new hardcore world so of course I HAD to come and see it, gosh, it feels so good to be back☺️

fun fact: the loot tables for suspicious sand and gravel are actually different depending on where they are located. in desert temples you might find more gems, but in trail you might find more homestead items

LOVED this first episode. very nice and nostalgic. I might start a new world myself to see what happens! Also, side note, Stripped mangrove logs look really good with the new Cherry blossom planks! Can't wait to see this new series!!
If you didn't know already you can now have double sided signs and you can edit them too, and if you don't want to change it anymore you can wax it with honeycomb! I hope this helps you decorate gem!💖💖 😄

I'm so in love with the cherry wood. It's so fun to see someone else just as excited. Your starter house turned out so unbelievably adorable. Also, those geodes are so awesome!!! And man, tridents are no joke. I've died many a time in early game to sudden trident attacks. Never underestimate them.
Those archaeology remnants are actually enormous underground. I spent a few hours excavating and packing up one and got several stacks of bricks as well as packed mud blocks. A very nice resource to find.
The 2020 hardcore series is when I got introduced to you gem.. you’ve Crome a long way since then.. keep up the amazing work

I was really hoping you'd do a build with cherry and birch, and you did not disappoint.

Hey Gem just wanna make sure you know that those archeology structures you found you are meant to leave the blocks and dig up the gravel then they will look like decaying buildings. Also I hope you and winne are safe from the wildfires but otherwise great vid glad to see you in hardcore again
It kind of annoyed me when she immediately started breaking the terracotta. To me, the best part is seeing the remnants of the building.
@AmethystNight Omg that annoyed me to no end as well! As a history buff, it really makes me mad seeing historical structures get destroyed.
Pixlriffs might give Gem a piece of his mind, I feel like.
Everyone has different play styles. As long as the person playing is having fun, I don't see an issue. I don't think you're "supposed" to bring an Ender dragon into the Overworld, but Doc did. 🤷🏼

Your little camp in the taiga is so cute Gem! You could set up a bunch of these kind of homes all over your world! That way, you could visit one of them if you get lost. I know it's super easy to get back home from exploring but little campsites like that would be amazing!

I like how everyone else is hyped for treasure and all then we've got Gem overly ecstatic for Cherry blossom trees ... I know the feeling I'm more excited for a new tree as well.
The trees were basically the first thing I looked for 😅 the second is the sniffer eggs because even if the flowers are useless, they're still kind of cool. The third is going to be the camel.
It was the very first thing I did, I went looking for cherry blossoms, then went and found Sniffer eggs to get the beautiful torchflowers!

Wauw, you really are a very good decorator. When I saw the starter house as it was I felt immediately drawn to build it too, using your lay-out. But when you decorated it, just wauw, it looks awesome. Loving the colours too!

I loved that first hardcore series, I know gem considers that let’s play she did as the reason she took off, but strangely my favorite series of hers was the hardcore one and the 1.13 one.

I just dug out my first. And its way more than I thought. I got 5 armor trim templates and a bunch of other stuff. Inventory and enderchest full. And it made so much fun!

The pink hut that Gem transformed is the same type of house she changed in her 1.16 hardcore! Oh the nostalgia!
I was blown away by the size of the ruins. Im still not done excavating my first one after hours of work
My three ruins i found were only surface level!!! I kept digging and nothing! 😭

@Claire how far down did you have to go? I went down 5 extra layers and found nothing. The whole trail ruins was like 10 blocks total, only 2 suspicious gravel.
It was pretty far from my base so i might end up cheating and finding it in a creative world copy to see if its worth traveling so far to go back lol

Im so glad that you started a new series in the summer, I couldnt watch much of the recent Empires SMP or Hermitcraft 9 because I was super busy with school. Thank you for making this new series, it made my day. I also am 13 and my parents don't want to buy a new console so I am still stuck on the Aquatic update with my PS3.

Great video Gem! I'm so glad you've started up a hardcore series! I found a ruin structure in my hardcore world and got lost in it for such a long time. They were such a great addition!
Just so you know, Gem, you can copy the Armor Trims, but it costs a lot of diamonds. With that one it's probably easier to just find more, but with some of the more rare ones you'll want to copy them before you use them.💖

Example 8 diamonds and a netherite for the Nether fortress template.

Hint: when you get to the point when you get netherite, you need a smithing template to make armor/tools. Hope this helps a bit!
This series is the 'cherry on top of a cupcake mountain! Gem really loves spruce wood even if the cherry blossom wood is released nothing beats the legendary spruce wood and planks I LOVE THE SERIES! ready to watch more! :D

I love that Gem found the trail ruins and not only dug up treasure, but also harvested the ruins for blocks 😂. A little minecraft history was eradicated, but at least she got the blocks she needed :P
