U gotta feel for the keeper. It is mentally draining dealing with 7 goals that aren’t really his fault.
That’s what my friend and I were saying every goal. There was at most 2 goals that he had a chance at. The one that was fully in his control(the penalty) he saved. The defense was either terrible, bad gameplay by the manager or both. 7-0 is definitely both

@Helmut83 yeah but they missed a goal with no keeper, a point blank header, and a PK. Those three are goals almost all the time, not just normal shots.

@Shane94M Harriel is still a young and inexperienced player, sometimes the ball bounces funny off of a sweaty head, and that PK save was just a good play by the keeper.
Paxten Aaronson is so good, Such a great young talent. Love watching him here in Philly but I know European clubs will be calling for him in the upcoming years. He also just dominated in the USMNT U20 CONCACAF tournament win. The Union is really making some great homegrown talent the last few years
I almost went out tonight instead of watching the game because of how painful the Union have been to watch.

@Helmut83 All their games are slogs. They play a very very unattractive, low possession, kick it long and pray style of soccer. They hadn't scored more than 2 goals in a game all year. Their saving grace is that the Union have the best defense in the league.

DC used to be our rivals but they’ve been bad for so long it’s kind of dead. Our biggest rivals now are NY Red Bulls and NYCFC.

How does DC go from winning at Orlando 5-3 to losing 7-0 at Philadelphia in the same week? I get Philadelphia is a much better side than Orlando, but still.
Also, DC’s only notable highlight came from Fountas, again. He is DC’s only saving grace, and he is wasting his career away there.

If you are used to Brazilian League these MLS games are a lot of fun. Last week DC scored 5-3 against Orlando playing away, and now this disaster. I think partly because the level of American soccer is still a little under Latin America’s. What lacks to the American League is what we in Brazil call “catimba”. This is what the Brazil team also lacked against Germany in the 7-1 back in 2014. Once the you start off losing by two goals within 10 minutes, you have to cool down, make technical fouls, roll on the floor, call the physicians, provoke the opponent and give time to the coach to readjust the strategy. You don’t see these attacking players playing so free on the box in any other league worldwide, not even second divisions...
