Do you remember this shot?
Well the Celtics did the same thing but with the stakes being much higher.
Boston comes back from 0-3 and secures a game 7 in the most insane way possible. And the final 2 minutes deserve a breakdown.
Down by 7 at the end, Miami is fighting desperately here. But it was almost game over as Horford has the ball but gets it poked. And follow Jimmy here as he’s going to slip this screen for Robinson causing a split second hesitation by Smart enough for him to have enough space to fire away this shot and bring it within 4.
Butler was just 3 for 19 up to this point, but when it matters the most he delivers.
4 point game and Miami defends in a zone here. The Celtics find Horford in the middle and the great cut by Tatum to get the ball, but even better read by Bam to help on the drive, a great contest and the Heat have a real chance here with a 1:40 left. In transition you know who has the ball at the end of the game. And with Adebayo screening for Duncan, Horford has to be there with him so Jimmy sees that the paint is open so he barrels inside and gets 2 free throws, now this is where the real madness begins.
Butler hits the first to make it a 3 point game but misses the second however watch Martin as he’s going to reposition while the ball is sitting on the rim and actually ends up with the rebound.
He finds none other than the best shooter on the floor all alone for this shot and misses it. He was on fire the entire game. How did he miss this look? Had all the time in the world right here. The drama continues.
Tatum wants the ball here and he’s going to set a screen to get a switch. Butler defends for the drive but Robinson fights over the screen and stays with White. You see that Tatum is open right here and the pass goes to him, Bam tries to contest but this is an open look. And at the same time watch Brown here who’s got an uncontested rebound. And on the miss he gets the ball and misses it but gets the foul call.
Jaylen makes the first but misses the second allowing a transition opportunity for Miami. And again watch how dangerous Robinson is as he’s going to set a ghost screen fooling Smart and clearing the way for Jimmy to attack right at the basket and not only that but get a bucket and the foul. Unbelievable. It’s only a 1 point game with 50 seconds to go. And things are about to escalate here.
The Heat staying in the zone and Tatum has the ball again, blows past Butler but Vincent follows that and steps in right here completely disrupting the drive and it’s a loose ball but JT recovers goes up for the shot but gets it blocked by Adebayo.
A real flashback from that iconic block from the bubble. But let’s get back to the present day as that defensive stop opens up another transition opportunity and you see that the Celtics are scrambling with 2 guys pointing towards Robinson but nobody near him.
He has another wide open look for the lead and misses again. Absolutely unreal. This would have given Miami a 2 point advantage in the closing seconds. Now they had to foul but got a bit lucky because Smart misses 1 free throw. And in a do or die situation Spoelstra asks Jimmy if he wants to go without a timeout and he confirms. A gutsy decision by a great coach.
Back to the video for the crucial possession. You know who’s gonna take the last shot. And Tatum is on him. Bam goes to screen and is able to force a switch putting a slower Horford in front. But with 5 seconds remaining Jimmy is almost at the logo. Duncan clears the side and Butler goes to the corner for a desperation shot and gets fouled! He gets fouled and on the review we see that his feet are behind the line so it’s 3 shots for the win.
He’s an 80% shooter from the line this postseason and with the NBA finals on the line, calmly knocks all three shots one by one.
Which brings us to the ultimate chaos at the end. You see that Struss is guarding White on the inbounds but he’s faced the other way and traps Tatum here as Miami didn’t want him to take the shot. So the pass goes to Smart and as the shot goes up, White has the presence of mind to go inside for the rebound and Struss is trying to recover back to him but he’s trailing.
So on the miss Derrick puts it back in but the buzzer sounds at the same time, so everyone is confused. Complete madness and disbelief in the arena as the refs are checking this frame by frame and we see that White was able to get it off with 1 tenth of a second remaining to force a game 7 and save his team from the brink of elimination in the craziest way possible.
This instantly reminded me of the legendary Ray Allen shot that completely demoralized San Antonio in game 6 who were just moments from winning the championship. And we’ve heard the stories of how that postgame dinner looked like a funeral for the Spurs.
Well this was the same thing in my opinion. Sports

On the shot by Smart why Bam Adebayo did not crash the boards he is very very overrated and why was #31 in the game for the heat u should have had your best defensive players on the floor poor game management by the heat coach
Yo bro i think we got a ref burner acc watching your video haha
You skipped right over the huge decisive mistake. The Horford foul (and the whistle) clearly occurred with less than 3 seconds left. The reffs' rounding up to 3 seconds (for no apparent reason) gave the Celtics just barely enough time for White's heroics.
@Impossible Visits that's what im sayin, people been talkin about it, i comment about that in this post and all of sudden refs burner acc gathered to come at whoever wondering about that time reset lmao
You did not speak of the 5 point play sequence that happened in the game!
When Smart shot
Tatum and Jimmy were around the 3pt line
When his shot hit the rim
Tatum was the first one in the air and closest to the rim
Jimmy was an assistant referee watching the play like everyone else back at the 3pt line
When that shot hit the rim
ONLY celtics player Tatum and White were ready to jump and catch the rebound
NO ONE from Miami was
If it bounced a little different it could have been a putback dunk by Tatum, absolutely insane indeed no heat player was jumping
I was yelling Bam since the 3rd quarter to stay on the paint, but I'm not Spo >.<
At that last ball I was like "who tf r u guarding? u r the tallest, there is just one rebound from the finals and you don't go take itttttttt"
Hopefully Denver will win.
@UYigga 100% correct, what was Bam doing!!
Yes, exactly.
House Clown 🤡🍺 Butler was already composing his ‘we’ll beat them in Game 7 while Tatum was crashing the boards!’
To be fair Caleb Martin and Adebayo boxed out Horford and Brown. Strus and Butler were sleeping.
1. Nuggets can get their first chip.
2. Heat can get the first ever chip for an 8th seed in nba history.
3. Celtics can pull off the first reverse sweep in nba history and win a chip...
Regardless how this turns out this is history in the making and I'm all for it.
Leave out no. 3 please.
That really is not an accomplishment as a 2nd seeded team VS 8th seeded.
@Chinquinostra Bambinocoming back 3-0 at the conference finals and winning a championship, the first for this group of Celtics player, and the 18th for the franchise to take back the lead as the most winning franchise in NBA history would be a historical run, the same way that LeBron coming back 3-1 in the Finals against the team with the best regular season record in NBA history was also a historical championship. We're witnessing a historical championship regardless of who ends up winning it all
If the Celtics wins a chip Im gonna throw up...
This team is way to inconsistent and shaky to deserve a chip. In the end a guy like Tatum goes to the HoF because of this Bullshit... and he is NOT a good first option.
Who do you think has the best chance of beating the nuggets?? Celtics or heat??
Bambino= 🧂 😂
Let the hate flow thru you my friend!! Now that the Heat have choked away a 3-0 series lead it’s hilarious how MOST of their fans(not all) have now started the excuses n hedging.. “refs r cheating for BOS” “BOS shouldn’t have ever allowed an 8 seed to win 3 games” but immediately after Gm 3 ya’lls tones and bullet points were the polar opposite cuz u knew that “heatculture” could never be the one team to choke away a 3-0 series lead in NBA history.. I honestly do feel kinda bad for the level headed Heat fans out there but not the ones who were dancing on the Celtics graves after Gm 3 but once adversity hits their energy does a 180 n they start grasping at anything the can to explain away the heat losing rather than just taking ur L’s w some dignity.. Heat had their chances to pull out the series win but it’s a wrap now, Celtics win by 20+ on Monday night
What cost the Heat much more was vanishing since gaining a 3-0 lead and deciding they would not show up for 4, 5 and 6. Now its more than likely they're gonna make history and be the only team to turn over a 3-0 lead.
that didn't cost the Heat although that appears to be so obvious, the NBA script is why they've blown a 3-1 lead
Bam and Miami's WONDERFUL basketball strategy of NOT crashing the boards COST them yesterday's game
You don’t think they showed up last night? What game were you watching?
They showed up, the celtics are just the way better team.
@Kebich Lact nah the Celtics just got a miracle there on the last play. I thought it was over
@Kebich Lact everyone said the Celtics were the better team the entire time but they look pretty evenly matched to me. It took a miracle shot for the Celtics to escape Miami in game 6.
I was not alive for Havlicek's steal in 65.
I was not alive for Bird's steal and Johnson's lay-up in 87.
But I will be able to say I saw White's put-back in 2023 live.
Also saw live. shouted all over the house
I was alive for the 2nd one, but I was 6 so I wasn’t watching 😂
saw this exact comment somewhere else lmao.
@ThisIsMyChannel Yeah because I posted it on Sporting Logically's video too. Just changed a couple of words to make it make more sense
Copying/pasting ain't cool.
That Ray Allen's shi was crazy. Presence of mind to start back to the 3pt line even b4 rbd was fully secured. Backpedaled - dont underestimate why that was so critical. Found the line & got precisely behind it (nets fans i apologize). The insanely hard part of making that pressure shot was the easiest part of this sequence. Wow.
That's why if I was a coach, I'd let Ray Allen instead of Steph Curry take the last shot, not only because of his higher clutch FG%, but also his height, his shooting form, his catch and shoot awareness.
Backpedaled? Jesus Shuttlesworth practically moonwalked into that 3.
This man’s ability to break down the most basic things is unmatched. Keep doing your thing and enlightening other casuals like yourself!
ok basketball guru
Everybody was saying the basketball bouncing in white’s direction was the ONLY was the Celtics could score. But they fail to realize that Tatum was crashing the boards as well and if the ball bounced in his direction he also would’ve had a putback opportunity.
after a 3p shot a tip in? i would expect the ball a little further away from the basket. but yea ball is a bitch sometimes
Can't believe Heats let this one slip. All it took were couple more people rush back for the rebound and they couldn't even do that. I don't think they will recover from this
the heat didnt let this one slip, they shouldnt have had a chance to even come back in the first place. if anything the celtics almost let it slip. Butler and Bam had abysmal shooting.
@Max Meierso did brown and tatum, 0 for 12 from 3
@Max Meier the refs gave the Celtics 4 free points in the last 3 minutes of the game
@TomClancy5871 L take lmao
@Max Meier heat had the lead with only 3 seconds left in the game and lost it. Yes they did let this game slip. It was theirs and they let white get the rebound uncontested and he got off a shot uncontested. Terrible execution by the heat in a game winning situation.
Sometimes a shot like this breaks the will of a team. It’s not over though. The heat have a lot of character and competitive spirit.
@Anti social Warriorwhat are you laughing of?
Another good video. Thanks. Hell of a game last night. Tomorrow will be fun. I think whoever does win this series might be a little tired going into the finals. Especially compared to the Nuggets who have been getting a lot of rest and practice. This is the Nuggets season.
What an inspirational attitude by the heat, they took the L with the right mentality and they delivered at game 7
I’m mad about what happened with heat luckily we won and we are in the finals… nice video really loved how you explained it well showing all the clips I’m just so shocked miami lost this one thanks for making this video it made me understand it so much…
In these types of inbound situations with 3 ticks left the inbound player is almost never defended. The Heat got what they wanted and that was to keep Tatum from receiving the inbound and a low percentage 3pt shot. Problem is Strus has to understand that after the double team on Tatum he needs to turn around and track down the inbound passer (White) who charged to the basket and got the put back.
strus cost them the game this dude literally paused for a second and is looking up at the shot instead of hustling and running to the rim and he was out of position. number 31 was lazy getting back and it cost them the game. I tell folks in any team sport it is mostly always the lesser skilled players making the biggest mistakes to cost the game.
This was an absolutely great series 🤩
Disappointing end from Celtics.
That's literally the end of the Heat season. The only reason they were up 3-0 in the first place was because the Celtics were shooting too much 3s to the point where most of their players had no momentum and had a lot more misses than makes. All they had to do was pass more, more aggressiveness, taking better shots, put Brogdon out of the rotation, had the Celtics done this sooner they would've won this series in 5 or 6. GGs Celtics for back to back NBA Finals.
I see and agree
They didn't take brogdon out of the rotation he's injured....
You guys forgot that the refs started cheating the Heat in game 4. The refs had Celtics in the Bonus in game 4 first quarter. The refs had the Celtics in the bonus in the first quarter in game 6. Scot Foster was one of the referees in game 4. Right when the Lakers were eliminated he caught a flight from LA to Miami to extend the series. Which he did.
Sure, always the refs...can't just be that Boston has it...
that’s the same reason the celtics even won their other 2 games. celtics are gonna choke this game 7 by shooting themselves out of it and on top of that jimmy is gonna be aggressive and stop using the pump fake and he’s gonna cook them in the paint by going straight up.
So many mixed feelings after this game. It's incredible that we had a shot at winning with Bam and Jimmy playing their worst games of the series. But damn, I really felt sick after we let White run unimpeded to the rim for the putback. Like, we're supposed to be known for our grit and hustle, and we just f*** up our chance to move on to the finals like that? Martin and Vincent were stellar which is always great to see, and Robinson really got us back in to this game in the 4th, but come on man, you can't give us at least one of those wide open 3's? What a rollercoaster, instant classic for me even though my team was on the wrong side of the result 😢
It’s Miami Vs Refs😢
@J Uno didnt jimmy just shoot 5 free throws in the last minute
@tri dra yeah but did you see the other fouls
No, it's Miami vs. a Boston that's got a deeper bench, more all around talent, and finally stopped fooling around.
The better team won, no shame in that.
You think you had it rough ...hell, if the heat won, I would of won $2,268.
As a heat fan that loss hurt more than any loss ever.. the basketball gods literally gave us this game.. multiple missed 3s after Jimmy put us in position.. we didn’t finish. Period
As a Nuggets fan. I think Heat take game 7... Celtics got lucky that ball bounced left out of the basket... If the ball bounced any other direction or even bounced higher up then the Celtics lost.
@Jonathan McCordnah Tatum was on the other side of the rim too. He also would have had an opportunity for a put back. That play wasn’t luck. It was EFFORT.
@Eddicuss I think there was effort certainly and great effort given by the celtics; however, it fell how it fell and thinking the outcome would have been the same with a different bounce is crazy. Good job Derrick White! props for sure and something to remember for years to come
Let’s not forget the Celtics shot 7 for 35 from the 3. You had your chance and you screwed it up. You better hope the good Celtics do not show up. The fact is I never know which Celtics team is going to play. Hoping we get game seven against Philadelphia Tatum.
Well, good golly gosh, folks! What a game we had last night! As a diehard Celtics fan, I thought my heart was going to leap out of my chest and perform its own game-winning dunk with only 0.1 seconds left on the clock. My entire cardiovascular system practically turned into a cheerleader as I watched Derrick White snag that last basket, making every Celtics fan leap in joy while the Heat fans were left applying cold compress to soothe their burnt hopes. I tell ya, folks, it was so electrifying, my pacemaker asked for overtime pay!
This game gave me every reason to stay glued to my screen despite my already high blood pressure. I mean, Game 7 is on Monday, but I'm already satiated with the cutthroat competitiveness we've been witnessing so far. If I survive till Monday, it would be an unexpected but pleasant bonus.
Now, as for the Miami Heat, their loss was as painful as stepping on a Lego. That's right, folks, a 3D, full-scale version of Lego, barefoot! Adebayo and Butler seemed to be struggling, like kids trying to solve a Rubik's cube in the dark. I'm talking 35 points combined on 9-of-37 (24.3 percent) shooting from the field kind of struggling. It was almost as if they were trying to make modern art with their performance, one that screams inefficiency.
Heat Check, you know that Clip-Share channel I'm always telling you about? The one with all the basketball analysis and breakdowns? They can't get enough of the Golden State Warriors. If the Warriors were a pizza, Heat Check would be the teenager at a party who has already had three slices but still has his eyes on the last piece. But as we all know, their analysis of the Warriors always feels as biased as a mom judging a cuteness contest with her kid participating in it. Now, that's what I call "Heat Check's Golden Love Affair"!
After a fantastic and heart-stopping game, we saw some of the Heat players storm off the court with faces redder than a sunburnt lobster. But Butler assures us he will be better. A lesson to all of us - never promise what you can't deliver, especially not in a Game 7, folks!
I must admit, I respect Coach Spoelstra’s optimism, though. It's like he's Captain of the Titanic and instead of shouting "We're sinking!" he's saying, "We've always wanted an indoor pool!" You've got to appreciate that kind of spirit. After all, life’s too short to dwell on the miseries, right?
All in all, folks, no matter what happens in Game 7, we've already witnessed one hell of a series. And as a Celtics fan, I feel like I've already won the lottery. Twice! So, let's strap ourselves in for Monday's showdown. I just hope my heart can handle it! After all, it's the reason why we love basketball: the thrills, the spills, and the near heart attacks. You can't beat it. Well, maybe with a defibrillator.
What a buzzer winner by the Celtics, this play off series has been a thriller from the on set! I am still confused tho, why was the game clock changed from 2.1 to 3.0 seconds? 🤔
The last foul occurred at 3.0 second where the time should have stopped. They had chance to review and time correction always happens.
@Ricky T ohh okay, thanks for clarifying
it's for the script
Foul did not occur at 3.0 if u slow Any videos down you can clearly see he was fouled at 2.6 secs, Ref’s blew whilst and clock stops at 2.1 secs…And then it jumped to 3.0 secs in all reality the clock was supposed to be set at 2.6 secs…giving the Celtics way to much time to shoot the ball and get a tip in in exactly 3 secs
This game was pure hustle every player was jumping for rebounds and playing great defense
looked like only the Celtics were going for the rebounds in that last play though.
The Duncan Robinson miss at about the 1:50 mark of the video reminds me of the Kyle Korver wide-open corner 3 miss in game 3 of the '17 Finals that would have given Cleveland (down 2-0 in the series) a 5 point lead with 50 seconds to go. Best shooter, uncontested, one he should make... and no.
Best series in a long time since the Spurs and Heat with Ray hitting that clutch shot can’t wait until tomorrow.
Jimmy has been promising a win in the press since game 4 Lmao 🤣
What did he say?
Yep,and he was right...in game 7. hahaha!
Last few plays there Celts were basically offering Miami the finals on a platter for the taking. Miami never took it so they did. Feels like they won't get another chance like that. But who knows. Wild stuff.
Forget the Finals this might haunt us for the next 30 year. If we lose game 7 we’re going to be the next Atlanta Falcons Detroit Pistons Cleveland Indians/Guardians of sports
😅😅😅😅 don't forget you'll also be put in the category with the New York Yankees cuz the Boston Red Sox came back against them in 04 and won their first championship in many years and also you'll be put in the same category as the Vancouver Canucks they gave up a 3-0 lead to the Boston Bruins all I'm saying is Boston has a history with this kind of thing
@Christian Galllietmo
The Bruins were down 2-0 and 3-2 when they beat the Canucks for the title.
@Shaun Cameron oh s*** you're right that was a while back I I thought they had went up 3-0 I thought I remembered them going up 3 to 0 or 3to1 my bad
@Christian Galllietmo yeah only issue is Yankees got championships up the wazoo to prove that was a misnomer. Heat most certainly do not
@kevin Kennedy yeah I didn't really think about that bro like I was just trying to be nice but you're right so they really can't see put in the same discussion as the Yankees or us for that matter I mean let's just be honest they're nowhere near the Celtics as far as success and this right here just goes to show that they deserve everything that they're going to get when they lose on Monday
man i was there, and you can sense robinson's hesitation and lack of confidence after he took that shot, cant help but feel bad for the guy.
Jimmy resorting to beer, and wine after game 5 is just outrageous
Look at his eyes, bro’s been gone since game 4 with that stupid laugh
dude stopped playing after game 3
Man was hanging with his friends chilling after game 3😂😂😂😂😂
Jesus loves you and may God bless ..
Nothing to do with Drinks
Bro clapped Shakiras cheeks and lost all his power and energy
How in the hell The Heat let Celtics to win3 in a row!!! Incredible 🤯 where is Bam?
ONE OF the most unbelievable buzzer beaters ive ever seen in my life
It's understandable, as Spoelstra said in the post game, that the primary goal for the Heat on Boston's final possession was to keep the ball out of Tatum's hands. So, Strus not guarding the entry pass by White did result in a soft double team of Tatum as White inbounded the ball to Smart. Mission accomplished by the Heat, initially, by denying Tatum the ball. However, whenever you decide to allow an inbound pass to be made, completely uncontested, you are always taking a risk. By not having Strus trying to contest White's entry pass, there was virtually no chance of a deflection or turnover and after he inbounded the ball, White continued to be "free and clear" to streak to the rim. White even had an opportunity to receive a pass from Smart and take an uncontested shot, if Smart decided to not take his shot and instead passed to White, while White was still on the perimeter. It's always a calculated risk to not contest the entry pass and then to allow that player to "roam free", completely unguarded.
As a Spurs fan, I love to see D. White make both one of the most spectacular and fundamentally sound plays I've seen in a long time.
Who's the most dangerous man on an inbounds play? Say it with me...THE INBOUNDER! The fundamentals still matter. Go for the rebound, box out, don't focus on the star so much that you forget about the "others".
I can hear that about the inbounder in bballbreakdown's voice saying that right now
Yes indeed, THE INBOUNDER!! THE INBOUNDER!! Basketball 101.. NO ONE was guarding Derrick White, which allowed him to make a totally uncontested pass to Smarty for the "indirect" game-winning shot.. I guess Max Strus was instructed to trap/double team Jayson Tatum (instead of harassing the inbounder), which created ALL KINDS OF SPACE for D. White to make an easy pass.. Are you kidding me? What kind of defensive strategy is that in a Conference Finals game? THEN, if that bird-brain decision wasn't bad enough ----- D. White cuts to the hole WITH NO ONE GUARDING HIM, and volleyballs the rebound back in with 0.1 seconds left on the clock.. Max Strus is TRAILING the play (naturally), and no other Heat player is within MILES of Derrick White.. Game over.. The lack of fundamental execution in the "modern day NBA" is appalling to me.. It's like a f____ing epidemic!! Take your pick.. Man to man defense, low post defense, weak-side help defense, transition defense, boxing out for rebounds, following your shot to the rim (NO ONE does this anymore), switching on heavy screens, going "over or under" lighter screens, illegal moving screens (all the time), carrying or palming the ball off the dribble, etc.. Don't get me started about the current style of play and officiating in "The League.." As Kobe Bryant used to say: "I like old school 'smash-mouth' NBA basketball.. Damn all this other BS.." In sports, if you want to win consistently ----- your FUNDAMENTALS better be in order!! Otherwise, you ain't gonna win very much..
@William Evans I approve of this message.
It wasn't a mistake. It was just unfortunate. Coach spo called for it and heat made mrcus make a tough shot with jt and jb in the court.
One of the craziest games I’ve ever seen. Good call back on that Ray Allen three, this game had that same feeling
they definitely got to comfortable after 3 games and it’s showing
They thought the job was finished. “Jobs not finished”. RIP my guy. 🙏
😂😂😂
@3rdEye I feel Kobe was MJ's son not Jimmy Butler.
@Renaldy Calixte I don’t know if they were more big and little brother or father son dynamic, but they seemed to have a solid relationship for a long time.
"We have game 6 at home; we're fine in the ECF"
On top of this, there are also discussion on clock reset at the moment of the challenge on Alford fault. 3.0 sec was probably a little bit too much. However, both teams look extremely tired while people in Denver is resting
the foul was called at the 3 second mark.
It seems like whoever denver faces its denver in 6 or 7
And im a celtics fan
Butler “jumps into” Horford as Horford is leaning backward but Horford is called for the foul and Butler gets three free throws. That was a amazingly bad call. The NBA needs to fix this just like they did with the James Harden calls.
Well I know it's eye catching to say cost them the finals but we have to wait for game 7 because Celtics are known for blowing leads and this comes from a fan that doesn't support either of them
Just a hater
@Jayyy at what point am I hating lol. You must search again the meaning of the word. Just saying my opinion with straight facts and not cursing or blaming anyone bruh
@Jayyy where
Where? You know we blow leads, you gotta ride with it. You’re not even a fan my guy.
@Jayyy he didn't claim to be a fan.
Go back and reread his first sentence
Unfortunately the Heat are done after this, the clock was turn back a extra second in favour of Boston. The heat miss five free shoots in the second half that’s all it took for this terrible defeat.
Well the Celtics were 7 for 35 from 3s the worst performance all season. In fact the Celtics shooting has been sub par all playoffs in many games.
This series is giving Celtics and Heat fans heart attacks lol
As NBA fans we hope game 7 will be close not a blowout.
It was 5.30 in the morning in France when White hit this awesome shot. Difficult ti sleep after such a crazy game !
Loving these analysis videos!
Butler really didn't show up for this game. Lowry was a non-factor. Max Strus didn't really blow a coverage as he double Tatum. And so, Derrick White is the hero. Let's just go with that.
the job was to avoid a shot from Tatum and Brown. Smart's shot was a reasonable one. if bricked, time is out.
@Dub C yup. the heat's game plan was solid. celts beat it by 0.1 seconds. lol. fck. sucks to be you max strus, but I feel for him. I can't see the Heat recovering in game 7.
Jimmy was 3-19 and they were one shot away from winning. I hope and have confidence the heat can get this done.
The Celtics had their worst shooting game of all SEASON and still won. I’m confident they won’t shoot so bad in a game seven at the Garden
2005 finals between spurs and pistons the same thing happened except Horry was left opened for a 3. Main point is horry who was in bounding the ball was left open cause Rasheed Wallace went for double team on Ginobili
Not the same cause Pistons won Game 6
@GG i'm not talking about outcome or result. heck Miami still might win game 7. i'm talking about on that play the in bounds player was not guarded resulting in a Lost except horry's was a jumper and that was game 5 and the pistons lost that game & eventually the series. finals was 2-3-2 back then
Ive never understood having your back to the inbounder especially in such a crucial situation..making the pass more difficult is always the better option especially if your not really doubling anyone. Huuuuge mistake coaching wise imo!
this play was practiced. it was a very possible situation, you think spo didn't measured all possibilities? they played it the best way they could based on the personnel and luck wasn't on their side i think. after all if you can't see where tatum is, how can you disturb the pass?
Kudos needs to finally go to Mazzulla. Stayed positive and steady. A shot like that usually devastates the loser of the game. Go back to the 2004 and 2013 Spurs. Would proceed to lose their next game. Celtics were lucky 0.9 was added back on the clock which they needed every single millisecond of that.
*White* Hot 2023 Playoffs, huh? Ray Allen left Boston to hit a shot to save Miami. Derrick White, a former Spur, returns the favor to the Heat and helped saved the Celtics' season. The 2013 Boston/San Antonio/Miami karma reaches full circle. The Celtics still cannot get comfortable. If they lose tomorrow, Game 6 was all for naught. Blew an 11-pt lead within 3 minutes. Are only 5-5 at home in these playoffs.
Max Strus messed up but anybody can make that same mistake. Nobody pays attention to the inbound passer. He didn't pay attention to Derrick for 1 second and it cost him the box out. It wasn't like Caleb Martin was boxing out either as he stood there and watched. If the ball bounces the opposite direction, Tatum might have had the putback.
Miami didn't really deserve to win Game 6. They were behind for most of the game. Butler played as badly as he did those first 46 minutes of the game. Celtics were proving they were clearly the better team. Celtics showed this in Game 4, 5, and 6 and Game 1 and 2 weren't blowouts. Only Game 3 was when they looked clearly defeated and looked like they quit.
I'm happy the most for BLAKE GRIFFIN. He was cheering his team on after Game 4 with hope still in his face. He doesn't play but tries to stay positive throughout. If Blake wins a ring with Boston, he can retire right afterwards and return to Hollywood to produce movies. Blake got drafted by the unluckiest franchise to end his career with the luckiest one 🍀.
The knock on the Celtics is their inability to close games. Brown and Smart missed critical FTs. Had they made them, they wouldn't need that miracle bounce to Derrick. Tatum needs to watch LeBron and stop taking too many damn threes. Take mid-range shots or drive for layups. The 3-pt jacking can kill these Celtics because when they get cold, they can stay really cold like Boston's climate.
You must win tomorrow, Boston. I'm giving you guys a 70/30 favoritism. But that 30% from Miami can feel like 90% at times because Jimmy did get rolling late that put Miami up by 1. It might take a miracle shot from Miami to repay what happened to them in Game 6.
That's the luckiest bounce I've ever seen. More lucky than Kawhi's 2019. More miraculous than Fisher's 0.4 and Ray Allen's 2013 that only put it to overtime. When White touched the ball, only 0.2 left. When it left his hand, only 0.1. Imagine an ECF series and Finals matchup decided by one-tenth of a second?
The basketball gods seems like they want to bless the Celtics this year. But it may not matter if they don't win Game 7. It might only be a miracle shot to play another home game. Series is far from over. Boston is not a great team at home while trying to eliminate a team that first time.
Bizarro series indeed, Brian Windhorst. Nobody really knows WTF will happen tomorrow? I did not even know WTF I saw last night after about 30 seconds. Both teams are inconsistent. The Game 6 finish was so wild, Skip Bayless admitted he was getting into a fight with Ernestine! Did you see Jake Paul's reaction? Reminded me of myself after I thought Maximum Security won the 2019 Kentucky Derby.
Vegas must hate both teams because neither one you can rely on wagering. You really don't know what to expect any more. But it's been an entertaining series. The best one of this year and perhaps since the 2013 Finals. Probably an all-time ECF classic and the most miraculous buzzer-beater shot in basketball history. Not just for NBA history but for all of basketball history. The one-tenth buzzer-beater.
I think if Boston pulls this off, I know Denver had 9 days off but they might get nervous for Game 1 in Boston. The 1991 Bulls and 1993 Suns lost Game 1 of the Finals and the excuse was they were nervous. If Denver plays Game 1 at home, the crowd will give them confidence.
Former players from the 2004 Red Sox and 2016 Patriots should be an attendance tomorrow to give the Celtics some luck. Let's see Tom Brady, David Ortiz, and Kevin Millar there. Let's see Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Mark Wahlberg there. Bring Jeter and A-Rod too! 🤣 Bring Kyle Shanahan!
Another Boston miracle could be upon us. Time to witness history. When something in sports hasn't happened, it will eventually happen. Might finally happen tomorrow night. Paul Pierce after Game 2 predicted Celtics in 7. No wonder he's called The Truth.
sorry but... though you admit you still here by lack and you have one game to prove something, you ask for more luck!! (saint matt damon make your miracle?) and wishing denver will be rusty to steal one? yes i get it sports can be very stressful, but staying away for a while can do you good. and if i'm goin' superstitious (unless u're a betting junkie allready, which u're not) then better off, don't you think?
Can Celtics make what haven't ever been done before? If they make it os going to be remembered no matter if they get the ring or not.
ALL those compilation videos of the most clutch buzzer beaters need to be re-uploaded to add this tip in 😂
This is probably the most momentum any team has taken into a game 7 in any sport. From almost being swept to technically sweeping the team that almost swept them. Such a crazy series. But Nuggets are going to win.
What did 2004 Redsox do to Cardinals in the WS?
How foolish to underestimate a team that achieved the unprecedented.
@GG yeah baseball sucks though
@bakedwithrealchez You’re like an NPC underestimating the MC thinking he must be an weak easy target because he struggled through adversity and overwhelming odds.
Nuggets are the favorites, and most people including you thinks whoever comes out East is a cornered injured beast VS a healthy rested opponent.
@GG nuggets in 5
@bakedwithrealchez Put money on it. Since you’re so confident, bet.
I want Boston Celtics in the championship for 4 reasons:
1. Make history from down 0 - 3.
2. They match up better against the Denver Nuggets.
3. The Boston Celtics will have homecourt which neutralizes the mile high city altitude.
4. Makes the Denver Nuggets work a little bit for the championship ring. In the end, I want Denver to get its first ring. Boston already has too many.
Oh, and one more thing, I want Spoelstra fired and in San Antonio for the old man Popovich, Kerr in Miami, Rivers in San Francisco, makes the coaching carousel more of a comedy series.
Not a regular viewer of this site but this was terrific analysis of the end of this game.
The equivalent to HORRY hitting that shot against KINGS game 6.
It still makes me cry.
Offensive rebounds no matter what era their in will always matter big and defensive rebounds matters just as much.
Great analysis BUT why no mention of why the whistle and call of shooting foul was at 2.1 seconds yet the refs made it 3.0 instead? Certainly without those 0.9 seconds added this series would probably be over.
If you are going to mention that, why not mention Jimmy Butler’s massive double dribble right before they call a foul on Horford? If refs call that, Heat never go up in the 1st place.
Seriously? That's THE most desperate cope Miami fans are reaching for...
Listen, when a foul occurs (penalty in the NFL), if the clock isn't stopped *immediately* then they will refund the time back to the point of said violation, especially in the playoffs, so neither team is cheated out of time of possession. (And therefore, a chance to win.)
@Rammstein0963I understand this but did the actual foul happen at 3 secs or 2.8 secs?
Damn just seeing browns reaction just seems he’s not all in or just ready to move on this offseason. 😢
Duncan missed because he took an extra dribble. Not because he needed a better hold on the ball. But because his nerves got to him
Game 6 was the one they let get away. Boston had less than 40 3 point attempts and they shot 20% from behind the arch. Boston will shot more from behind the line in game 7 and they will hit them. Prior to game 6, BOS was only winning in the playoffs when they shot around 40% from behind the arch. In all 3 Heat wins, BOS shot Less than 34% from behind the arch.
This game drove me insane. I haven’t recovered since.
Steffan is so stunned by the game's ending that he doesn't take a shot to end the vid.
Heat biggest mistake this season was surpassing all expectations. :) :) :)
Nahhhh, stop with that bs. You were up 3-0, no excuses
Fortunate bounce of the ball!😊😅😂❤
@Matijathere is truth to his statement and to yours! You didn't pick Miami to be in the eastern finals so you 🛑 stop! This is nothing new become new if Boston wins game 7! 😊
Yes you’re right. Heat had the lowest shooting percentage among nba teams and for some inexplicable reason were making them in the first 3 games. They were beating the odds.
@David Givins … still, 3-0 choking is the most embarrassing moment for Miami… they will be in the history books forever
The Heat almost won it. It's the little things that sometimes gets you the W. If Jimmy didn't have a bad night, this series would be over.
Us heat fans literally thought we had it in the bag that’s why ppl started lowkey celebrating. Idk how dude managed to make a whole video lol the game just happened😭great vid.
Nobody's saying that it was bam fault on the last play he has a clear path to get the rebound but instead box-out Jaylen Brown at the free throw line
“The Celtics fans are going to make it a living hell for the heat”
Yes, yes we are. Celtics in 7 100%, they just need to play defense because until game four I wasn’t seeing a lot of that. LET’S GO CELTICS!!☘️☘️☘️
Cost them the finals lol.
Never underestimate how inconsistent the Celtics can be.
Seems to me it isn't going to haunt them at all.
I knew the Celtics was going to win at the 3-0 and come all the way back they fighting for their lives!
me too. i was sure, no doubt about it. they was fighting so hard to give the game away, that the game was coming back to them by it self.
That shocked look in Jaylen Brown’s eyes is him thinking he had played his last game as a Celtic
This aged well 😂😂😂
It wasn’t a mistake. He was denying JT which was first option. This forced a bad shot by smart and the heat got unlucky with the bounce off the rim.
simple as that. and i'm not a heat fan
They closed their first round in 5, 2nd round in 6, and hopefully wcf in 7
If Celtics lose Game 7 after all this! This group will implode…
If the celtics loses, then they fought back; if the heats loses, then they would be the 1st team to choke a 3-0 lead. Nuggets in 5 anyway, but heats are gonna have to fight to not be on the wrong side of history. Hopefully game 7 can go to a quadruple overtime, it'd be so amazing as this series has been fire.
They already dropped the "fake liking" act.😅
I don't see it happening, they know they should have lost already. I guarantee they will win by at least 10 and hit basically every single three. I've seen the game 7 against the Bucks last year, and the game 7 against the 76ers this year, and game 5 against the Heat (all elimination games) to know they come out with urgency and execute at a high level in home elimination games
Robinson missing that wide open 3 reminds me of Jimmy missing a wide open 3 at the end of game 7 last year
That's why he's a role player. Most role players don't deliver when a shot is REALLY needed.
Post gm6 reaction was revealing. Be careful celtics. Team leaders need to deflate that energy quickly - and get the chip back on their shoulder. If uv ever played a high stakes game as the favorite u know what i mean.
There was 0.1 seconds left for that shot BECAUSE the clock was started LATE. The clock is stuck at 3 seconds while the inbound pass is made and even while Smart pivots before shooting. The clock hits 2.9 as Smart is lining up to shoot - likely 0.2-0.3 seconds late.
As a celtics fan wr couldnt have caught a luckier break at the end. But im all for it!!!
The thing people talk about on the last sequence was when Jimmy fouled on 3pt line, the time was 2.1 sec remaining, but when the celtics run the last play for the win, somehow the time was back to 3.0 sec, I'm personally not an expert in NBA rules so idk about the time addition rules etc, but if it was 2.1 sec remain instead of 3.0, would that last rebound still count ?
You are right , you are not an expert .
@Genghis Khan would the expert answered the humbly-asked question then ?
@meiji ikhlasul , Mazzulla challenge the fould against Butler , ref review it and reset the time , thats the answer of an expert .
@Genghis Khan you explaining the sequence, we are hoping an expert come to explain the resetting time rule, jimmy fouled at 2.1 and the timer stopped when the challenge called, would the expert care to explain the rule instead of what happening cuz we all already know mazzulla challenged and the time reset. I mean if you wanna talk about the skies are blue, then all people are expert in that lol.
As a neutral fan the refs were making debatable calls all game, especially in the 4th. Calls seemed to be favoring Celtics. Something seemed off. And you’re right its bizarre how the time extended to 3 seconds, that alone saved the game.
Jimmy Butler was on Fire when the game was on the line , he took over those last 2 minutes , but Twice I guess it was Robinson missed 2 big 3’s under pressure, ain’t no way Jimmy wasn’t passing to anyone on Miamis last drive , he had to get it done and not leave it up to chance…
Boston miraculous play to win it was nothing short of remarkable , but so was that surge at the end by Miami trying to close it, but ya know unfortunately has me thinking , if Jimmy would have played iso top of the key an extra one or two of those last possessions instead of his non superstar teammates chuckin up some bricks , they’d have probably completed the comeback.
This what people criticize Lebron for , cause he’ll leave the game up to his teammates who have no Buisness taking those big moment shots while one of the best players of all time is also on the court , it doesn’t make sense. At least the one 3 in this game was a wide open look that you had to take no matter who it was , but yea watching Jimmy in those last 4 minutes gave me flashbacks of Kobe, winning in spite of having no help.
You're somehow forgetting they kept giving Jimmy the ball all game and he was playing like trash shooting nuttin but bricks or free throws. He was actually a liability out there. Duncan at least kept them in the game.
@AmandaabnamA You right Jimmy was supposed to show in the 1st,2nd, and 3rd quarter. He waited till the last minutes to come back which was a bad idea. Heat needs to start the first quarter with 10 points lead which will put a lot of pressure on the Celtics. Heat keep letting the Celtics gets the lead. Heat should tight there defense in the 1st,2nd and 3rd quarter. I forgot the refs had the Celtics in the bonus in the 1st quarter and the Heat were scared to defend them.
now is so hard to predict if heats or the celtics would be the one proceeding to the final, at first i was thinking it would be the end for celtics as they were 0-3 with heats n when game 4 came they redeem themselves by winning game 4 n make it 1-3
Spo needs alot of blame for that final possession
Then Bam and jimmy.
Spo didnt stress how important the rebound was in that possession.
They team was only thinking about getting 1 stop.
They should have been told to play the possession like they were down 1pt and needed a stop and rebound to win.
Bam decided not to attack the rebound. Something that he has Not been doing. Watching the rebound or waiting for it.
Jimmy was watching the shot and let tatum run to the rim for the rebound.
If the ball didnt go to whites side of the rim.
Tatum would have had it and the heat would have lost anyway..
Unbelievable... The leaders of the team blew that one
Do you think Jimmy double dribbled on that final play? I’ve seen the argument horford fouls and doesn’t get called but if that’s true then Jimmy would only get two free throws not three
The problem was coaching! The inbounds pass should have been guarded by a tall player like love and also the inbounder was allowed to freely run to the rim which allowed that layup for the win! You always guard the inbounder and crash the rim when time is running out.
Smart could have hit a wide open White cutting to the basket on the last play as well.
The mistake that caused a game 7 blowout.
If the Heat are going to pull off a win in Boston, Jimmy and Bam can't shoot themselves into a hole like they did last night. Gonna need their main men to be the main men.
Heat in 7
The Celtics might've just grown up in front of us. This could be that step they needed to stop playing around and get it done, finally.
No they didn't. They are worse this season
grandpa... they tried to give the game away, and the game came back to them by it self, right in front our eyes. you saw nothing?
@george marco I see butthurt comments 😂
@NBAGrandpa im not even american grandpa, i couldn't care less, but are you talkin about the last game or something more general?
🤦♂️Spo says he doesn’t know how Miami gonna do it but Miami will get it done. Sounds like Clippers’ Ty Lue when with 3/4 of the season over he said he was still trying to figure things out but not worries cuz he would eventually figure it out!
It’s been almost a decade and as a spurs fan… Ray Allen shot still hurts
I was a Spurs fan too during those couple of years because I used to hate Lebron a lot before he came to my fav team the Lakers lmao.
Holy smokes I just realized the Red Sox came back from 0-3 against the Yankees and won it all and now the Celtics may pull it off...the cool part is they're both from Boston
And the Patriots came back from 3-28. Boston is a lucky city.
WOW bro did you do a Google to figure out they’re both from Boston? Really cool!!!
Lemme guess Mikey, Heat fan?
@Turk February no bro lol....I'm a huge sports fan and know my teams just had to point out that they are both from Boston that's all
Did you guys know that if Boston wins game seven, this will be the first time an NBA team came back from being down 0-3???
Usually when a team blows their opportunity to win a decisive victory when they had a chance to close the deal that opportunity doesn't come again.
Reffs helped Miami all game. That’s the crazy part.
Let’s go Celtics ❤
3:15 was also a mistake. Heat should go to longer offense. Jimmy never do that kind of reckless moves
Robinson / Miami had 18 sec on the clock in their hands and they decide to shoot a 3 instead of driving the ball or setting up a play. If there’s anyone to blame is Robinson. He should get traded next season or send to Shanghai Knights.
when robinson took the three it was about 28 secs left, plenty of time with a time out left. he was open and tried to make it a two possessions game for the heat. and as you saw heat got time to even take the lead. and this play was infront heats bench, spo could ask him to stop. so, robinson i think will be there next season too
Derrick White = Meta World Peace
They can win if they learn how to box out and grab some boards. Also, don't let Robinson shoot when it really counts 😊
Duncan Robinson cost the Heat that game late, two good looks on 3's which he clanked..
The 2nd three wasn't even necessary, it would have been a dagger to the Celtics if it went in but it wasn't necessary at that point...
"When it matters the most he delivers."
The _entire_ Game 6 close-out game "matters the most."
The guy was 5-21.
