This is one of those moments. An overhyped CO team meets a wall. How they bounce back is far more important than how they played last night. 3-1 isn't a bad look. Let's see if they're going to build off this loss or if they'll fall into obscurity.

Their schedule doesn't get any easier. They made it thru the easiest part of the schedule. Now it's against teams that are and actually should be, ranked. Colorado had no place being ranked. And this game exposed that. Media propelled this team to being in a top 20 spot and they didn't belong there to begin with. Oregon did what they were expected and Colorado did what I expected. Now "prime" will just replace half the roster again and wonder why there's no chemistry

    • Monkay
      Monkay 11 hours ago +4

@Zach Noetzelthat was the dumbest statement I’ve read today. Why would you not replace a 1-11 roster? They obviously didn’t belong; many still don’t. They were 21 point underdogs and you’re acting like they were favored to win😂

Bo Nix is an extremely experienced QB by this point, and Oregon is stacked on both WR and RB corps. TE and OL are quite good as well. Very few holes on Oregon's offense.

I have to disagree. 3:59 it was at THIS moment you knew Oregon was about making the Buffs look out of their league. This was a statement play. You only do this when you know the other team can't beat you. They wanted to embarass them on national television, and they did. But they also had mercy, because they took some of the starting players out of the game near the end. The score could've been well into the 70s. Lastly, the Prime Effect goes both ways. It either makes teams cower, or it makes them want to dominant you. The latter happened today.

    • Winston Lewis

The "Prime Effect" is a load of nonsense. He has been outcoached two games in a row and is 0-2 in bowl games. When Colorado finishes the season 5-7, he needs to be on the hot seat. If Colorado's AD doesn't check him, I will.

Glad to see Oregon has gotten back to a good state. Them last 2 yrs were rough. Thought Colorado would be tested this game and they were. They weren't really exposed in this game. Deion had already let it ne known that the big men slots were their weakness. It was just a matter of time before a good team exploited the weakness.

    • Cameron Himes
Cameron Himes 10 hours ago +1

Don't forget about WR as a weakness and defensive backs. Oregon was easily stronger and faster in those positions. CO WRs getting no separation and the brief separation they did get the QB was not able to anticipate and get it to them. Rushing was terrible. Not a dig on coach Prime definitely building but trenches are not the only weakness.

    • LD BWA
LD BWA 9 hours ago +2

Exactly. I agree with you. I don’t even think Deion expected them to win this game. It’s his first year, he just wanted to do better than last year and they did. I still respect him for what he’s trying to do with the program cause when has Colorado ever had this much attention

Oregon EXPLOITED Colorado’s defense the entire game. By the time they scored 21 points I knew it was a done deal. Gonna be a long week for coach prime. I think Shadeur needed a game like this. We need to see how he bounces back during the season. I honestly don't thing Travis Hunter would've done much for this game or the next. But if Coach Prime is serious about this job then he needs to get rid of all the cameras and all the hype videos. Your name can't win these games. I do think in the coming years he can probably build CU into a solid team. But right now, Oregon looks like a dangerous team, firing on all cylinders

Forgot which analyst said it, but he made a really good point. It was impossible to rebuild Colorado oline and dline in one year through the transfer portal. But this is also the worst team Colorado is gonna have. They have recruits calling them now. Players wanna go to Colorado. Travis is locked in for one more year. And it looks like shedeur is gonna stay for another year. They're definitely playing for the national championship in the next couple years.

As someone that played college football. The biggest gaps between schools is not the skill players, it’s the big guys upfront and having depth at that position. Even Deion said it himself that he needs about 7 to 8 dawgs at the O line and D line position. To be honest he’ll need more. During the season, they have to go recruit south of the Mason Dixon line and get some beef upfront before they can compete with the elite schools.

Logic and the ESPN "pundits"' confidence that "Colorado couldn't be blown out" allowed me to place my wager with absolute confidence. Colorado needs a run game and an O line and faster players. Way too many holes in their game. This is def a learning experience for them and very useful game film for them to build off of.
