@1977Futre where have we missed Rapha ? not at all Aaronson has been superb and for me is a better team player , once Sinesterra comes in Harrison will be on the right alternating with each other and Aaronson will then boss Midfield as the attacking midfielder imo . KP havent missed him one bit Adams and Roca are way better .I think we can finish top 10 easy and im hopeful we can push higher this team will only get stronger .

I got into a few Clip-Share rows over leeds. As a fan I followed close season how they spent. I also followed their rivals. Leed bought more than most and strengthened in the places that needed strengthening. Everton haven't done that. Southampton haven't done enough either (other than youth players). Wolves have done a bit....these I see as close rivals. I mention this as w new to better than 3 teams. Bournemouth will be one, maybe Fulham...(although they look good) and one of the afformentioned...so to cut a long story short after being told we won't make it....I think we will. I think Jesse has bought well. I think we do miss rapha but KP not so much as he wasn't there much last season. I reckon 13th.

@Spenn7 I can’t answer for him, but I can say many in US followed a team because of a US player and still do, or will support them for life. I’d imagine he would, as Leeds history and fans are extraordinary!! Once your pulled in there is no way to support someone else.

Just a quick question, if the lads stay for the next few seasons and you get right into the Leeds culture and understand what it’s like to be a fan however all the Americans move on… will you still be a Leeds fan?

    2112Tix 7 months ago +57

Leeds fan UK here. The USA boys are totally here on merit and fit right into the Leeds Psyche: hard working, competitive and at one with the fans. We are not a glamour/tourist club but have - and it’s been touted by many a fan from other clubs - the most passionate fans and the best atmosphere in the prem. they’re gonna love it, more stateside players please.

    • Chris Frank
Chris Frank 7 months ago +4

You will get a new generation of fans because of that. Already many fans watching & cheering for Leeds except for the 2 times they play the team they already support.
Great message! Should be framed, and used for anyone who is still doubting US players or a coach!

I’m not just a USMNT fan anymore lol. Somehow I’m all in on Leeds. Even after the dust settles and the Americans move on from Leeds… I’m all in baby, hook line and sinker. There’s something really infectious about the club that sticks with you.

Leeds fan here, thank you for Tyler and Brendan, exactly what we needed after losing Kalvin and Raphina (hardworking, talented players with bags of energy and a great attitude and a hunger to impress)
A lot of fans weren’t thrilled with Jesse’s appointment at first, solely due to our adoration and loyalty towards Bielsa and the miracles he performed.
But Jesse is really starting to win us all over and I really hope he can continue to prove the doubters wrong, seems like a great guy

There were a few specials about Leeds when they were back in PL, going over the history and everything your eluding to. Can’t say everyone saw them, but watching every week teaches you more and more. When Marsch took over there was a lot about the history, and what it meant to coach there. So hopefully more are learning every game.

@tiberio135 yeah, you thought i thought it was leads, i believe that. especially since i elsewhere used Leeds.
i could care less how foreign it is for English fans to support their national team. but i can say that the majority of english fans, pundits, and tv commentators certainly have a bias for english players and also against american players. regardless of what the english do, americans support their international soccer players intensely and like to see them do well. i think it's easy to see why. in baseball or basketball, for example, it's entirely different. people aren't cheering for american baseball or basketball players over club players since the us is already successful in those sports and has produced plenty of the best players in the world for decades. by the way, we don't have rules in mlb or NBA regarding the representation of american players in the league. we also don't have rules that restrict players from outside north America from our world-class prep school basketball programs or our world-class tennis academies.

    • tiberio135
      tiberio135 7 months ago +3

@MattMexor2 mate, is not ''leads''...it's Leeds, Leeds, got it?...You have to understand that the devotion you people have for your players and not the club...it's foreign to English culture. And those boys play for an English team.

Jesse had a tired and broken squad last year and managed the impossible, this season he has been able to build his team and his vision and it is working so well.

This is the league , were players and managers go to test themselves . Leeds have a good start. But other teams will get their act together ,and the season will start to grind the lesser teams down . If the U.S elements are not up to scratch ,they won't last , Jesse as well. This applies to all the many nations that contribute to the premier L.

  • B R
    B R 7 months ago +2

Hi everyone, I'd just like to put a few things into context for anyone in the US especially younger people who are taking an interest in the premier league and football in general about Leeds United, we are historically one of English footballs' giants but since 2004 due to mis management at board level dropped out of the premier league as a result of having to sell literally all of our players, it's been a long hard slog over 16 years to get back to the top during which time the premier league has grown in popularity around the world at a phenomenal rate and is virtually unrecognisable from the one we left, as such the amount of inward investment and prize money on offer for the clubs that remained has allowed them all to invest in new or expanded stadia and a plethora of the worlds best players coaches etc.
In short we are starting from miles back now but are slowly getting a foothold in the door thanks in no small part to the genius of Marcelo Bielsa, our new owners and of course more recently Jesse and his American additions plus others, so if you are a new football fan stateside and just happen to be looking for a real football team to take an interest in then I would highly recommend you look no further than Leeds United 💞 we are a proper down to earth loud and passionate fan base who don't turn up expecting to be entertained but who roars our team on to the very end every single time, we're all in all the time for life, you'll love it!!! x

My one concern with Marsch going all-in on Rangnick-ball with Leeds is, sooner or later he's going to need to control games.
Whether that's because teams stop trying to play through his press and play longer, or they do make it to Europe and have to play 2 games a week. You need that ability to manage a game. To have ideas on the ball to unlock a packed defense and make the opposition chase the game. Or to pull back, take a breath, and keep the ball and keep players fresh.
Klopp never learned that lesson at BVB, and the team mentally and physically collapsed his last year. They simply couldn't play twice a week at that intensity anymore. He learned that lesson his 2nd year at Liverpool. And that is part of what turned them from fun to watch into Champions. Dominant teams need the ability to control won games. And to play on the ball when the opposition refuses to get in a transition game.

Leeds United is like no other club out there, it's not about being an English Club, Spanish club or even US club depending on the make up of the team. When you come into the Leeds United fold it's not about nationality all that's left at the door, to be part of Leeds United is way bigger than national identity, it's in our DNA. If a US player comes in and gives 100% he will be taken into the fold over a home grown player who is half arsed and hasn't bought into what Leeds United are all about. Jesse, Brandon and Tyler have walked the walk and in interviews appear to really understand what we are all about. There are no nationalities in our side just warriors whose loyalty is to the badge and the institution of Leeds United football club. As the late Bill Shankly at Liverpool said “Some people think football [soccer] is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.” MOT ALAW

But I guarantee you, there will always be a reaction.

Careful boys! Loyalty to your club is big over here!! but Tyler adams and aranson need to be Leeds to play for Leeds if you know are history and the culture surrounding are club you’ll understand that, Are history is vast, every other English club fan hates Leeds because we played a type of football no body had ever seen back in the day, we pride are selfs on being savage and what we don’t have in raw talent we have in passion, aggression and a desire to turn over so called bigger clubs. Jesse, Tyler and Brendan must have Yorkshire blood! For me personally Tyler Adams is a monster! Massive respect to them. You yanks have so much passion for your chosen sport it was inevitable you were going to break in at some point. Now try ditch the pads and try rugby league 😁

I think the question should be can they challenge for EUROPA! They should have 9 being up 2-0 at southie but marsh learned and adapted. He replaced cal philips and over rated raphina(sorry Leeds fans but he is) amd you got aarosnon and rodrigo and Harrison working seamlessly as a pack of bull sharks and they. Don’t care who scores or who’s defending. And roca amd adams and struik look terrific! So does rasmus, Phillips was a very talented player and raphina had flair but these three games look better as a team than any games I saw last year and I watched 10-12. I don’t see them losing regularly to teams outside the top 6

Leeds were a big club until the owner bankrupted the club so badly, that no-one with real money wanted to buy it.
A lot of fans paid less attention to the club during that time.
That resulted in nearly 20 years in the lower leagues until Radrizani stepped up to the plate, and started the growth. The rest as they say, is history.
The fan base has has aleady grown to the point that there's only a very slim chance of getting a stadium ticket for a game.
There are plans to increase the stadium capacity by more than 50%, but that won't satisfy the demand for tickets.
Leeds are actually a big English club, that is just stretching its wings again.
I'm glad to see that Leeds are attracting Americans as fans, and some more as watchers. Many of you will gradually be drawn in to being Leeds supporters/fans as the passion of every part of the club gets your emotions going.
It won't ever be a smooth ride with Leeds, but what you can guarantee is that the team will never give up before the final whistle.
Just look at videos showing the number of last minute goals that Leeds score, often turning a poor score into an unlikely win or draw.
The style of play that Jesse has brought to the club is nothing new, but it is exactly the style that put Leeds in the top few teams in England.
I've been a Leeds supporter for around 60 years, and I'm proud for the club to have an American manager and some American players to help us get back to where we belong.
It can be an emotional roller coaster following Leeds, but enjoy the ride!
