The "defying the laws of physics" thing is a thing in modern architecture. It's called a "cantilever" where the frame extends into the building and the weight of the rest of the building keeps it in place. But yes, a cantilever that big does look odd.

Honestly, I haven't streamed in a while but I have been practicing building, especially in the SMP I'm in... I feel like I've gotten away from most of these mistakes. My biggest one is the very boxy-shaped builds.
Other than that comparing my recent builds to my very first build... me being a noob used brick wall blacks... for the walls.

I used to have a hobbit hole in Minecraft Bedrock. I was really proud of it. It had a river leading to the open ocean, villagers that were zombified and cured, a carpet, 3 dogs, a cat and even had a farm tower. All of this was surrounded by a wall and was perfectly lit. Unfortunately due to the update, the world got corrupted. Now I'm sad.

  • Jonathan Green
    Jonathan Green Year ago

    Here’s my process:
Step 1: Acquire map of spawn.
Step 2: Raze block within map chunk above river/sea level.
Step 3: Place torch in NW corner and place torches in a 5x5 pattern across chunk.
Step 4: Create dirt path along perimeter and through the middle, separating the 4 quadrants.
Step 5: Place foundation in the crossroads in a 9x9.
    Here’s my problem:
I want my house to be omni-symmetrical. I want the shape to be the same shape from the 4 corners.
I’m willing to unbox the 9x9 in the 4 directions and rounding the corners.
But when I start to build up, I find issues.
My base pallet is Stone brick 🧱 and the 3 polished stones (1 for each direction).
    Can you help me?
    It’s turning into a 3-story tower.
My warehouse will be in the basement, bed on the 2nd floor, and enchanting in the 3rd. Maybe the 1st will be a workshop?

I have to ask on your opinion:
When I make the roof, sometimes I put stairs all-around the top in a pyramid pattern. I also clear out the excess blocks in the ceiling for space. Is that ok?

Personally, I would say no, as you don't quite get the right border with that style. I would just do the classic roof, a plus- shaped roof (peaks on all four sides), or if you're up to the challenge (not to be insulting), you could try one of those "deflated cone" roofs that you commonly see on fantasy towers. Was this helpful?

The thing I struggle with the most are circular roofs for example I want to build a cool wizard tower with a circular roof and I mostly fail.... I try to make it taller with some normal sized blocks but then it feels too tall and then I panic I don't know what to do and then I just ,,go for a break" and by that I mean never finishing it and move to a new build................... and I also don't know how to decorate big house walls.....................

I like building with dirt, it can be mined my hand and if you build correctly you can grow grass on each floor and have green carpeting and balcony's with green on them, then throw in vines and 2 thick floors with 1 block of water and you have a vine and whatever you want farm and house all in one, use sand to make walls around the house so if a creeper blows them up, the wall will close the hole automatically. My house is usually symmetrical and square on purpose as it makes setting up red stone circuits easier. :)

    oh yes oh yes.
    a bit of story here...
i specialized myself in research facilitys, industrial and operational controlrooms with the needed thech behind it. all of that with an overly fair need for realism.
    now.
i have seen. so. damn. many bunkers and researchfacilitys, which are
-completely build from 1 block. and it always was iron for some reason i dont understand.(i do to an extend, but..come on. no)
-overdetailed like...nobody builds an A-war bunker like it is part of some art project. just stay industrial.
-not fitting the topic. --->wrong palett
-non necessary details nobody would ever do in rl. like...who. is building the "reactor" with a _meltdownfunction_ ? if you realy want such a thing, bild a simulator. its possible and it makes way more fun than just..."oh, i deactivated the coolant. now it gets hot and detonates" N O O O. cease.
-secret tunnels and entrances. no description needed (exept it fits with the topic..then its fine)
and im every day just like...the only person who knows how to build proper bunker systems.
why is this a thing in 2021? with architects who have at least like over 15 years build experience.
anyway. have a nice time people, it was indeed a nice video there :3
    see ya

I usually "under-detail" because I have no builder instincts; I use the fill command whenever I build to speed it up.

There was this one time when I was like 12 where a situation arose (I don’t remember what it was) but I said “the quicker the faster”…
Like the quicker you get something done, the faster you get something done. I was dead serious when I said it, but it sounds so dumb looking back😂 I feel like this radiates the same energy as this comment😂😂
