Love the interaction with Christin Cole, where Cole reminds Daemon of being unhorsed by him. Daemon just takes it in stride with a laugh. He can take it and also dish it out.
@Jimmy Wiggle your right, the person blowing the Horn dies instantly, so any Dragon hearing it would only obey the person holding it as of that moment, but ALL dragons, including those with riders, can fall victim to the Horn and its master. The ancient Horn that Victarion has in his possession once belonged to a Dragon in Valyria MUCH bigger than Balerion.
@Dragon Ball Super Isnt the thing that anyone who blows the horn dies? And it only works on dragons that have no rider? Also his name sounds like a frat boys?
Daemon is the definition of chaotic neutral. Cunning and brave but also impulsive and narcissistic. They did a really good job making a character so unpredictable yet believable.
@Far-Moderate Extremist murder is not a neutral act. Even if it benefits you, especially if it benefits you, it's widely considered evil. And yes, he does take sadistic glee in his murder, as evidenced by the first kill he makes in executing the criminal... And others arguably Neutral indicates an aversion for evil and good acts. He's neutral to chaotic EVIL
@Gold & Silver VS Crisis & Collapse stop conflating your morality with what chaotic neutral actual means in the context in which it was created. Daemon acts out of selfish desire, not out of a love of cruelty, sadistic glee, or a desire to dominate and remove the freedoms of others. Daemon is a neutral character that occasionally does evil things because they're a means to an end, not because he sees evil as an end unto itself.
Seriously the sheer cope of daemon fan girls.... Bashes wife's head open, that's chaotic neutral! Lmao, next you'll tell me King Joffrey was chaotic good because he didn't horribly mutilate Sansa when he had the chance to.... And ironically the people who look up to him, you'd be nailed to feed crabs, lose part your heads and strangled and bashed by him given the slightest inconvenience to him. Just because he's charismatic and likes his bro doesn't make him a good person, role model or husband 🤣
"I will speak of my brother as I wish. You will not." Daemon did more to protect the name and reputation of House Targaryan than everyone else in his family combined! I almost wish the show revolved around him!
@Wonipowa What a wonderful character who's all fighting behind the war, so if you're looking for something like this, you can see the movies of World War I and II, Damon Targaryen just loves war, nothing else.
Seriously should have been. He was a warrior and took charge. How are we supposed to follow Rhaenyra’s arc through the Dance, since she hasn’t the slightest idea as to how to wage a war or command troops (the scene at Dragonstone, Daemon was the one who took charge and made defense strategies that Rhaenyra wouldn’t have even thought of) stuff just sort of happens to her and she had a dragon.. that’s about it.
@ollie Well, that's wrong, because according to logic, you want to think about it, if Damon has three dragons and everything you say he has, he's still going to have to deal with three dragons against Vigar and Sunfire and thousands of anti-dragon bows and arrows, in your opinion, Damon's dragon can dodge a few arrows.
I think my personal favorite scene of Daemon's is definitely when he starts laughing to take the attention away from the Velaryon throwing shade at Rhaenyra AT A FUNERAL. Close second is the scene where he helps a dying Viserys onto the Iron Throne, even though he's a terrible person it still shows that he loves his brother Viserys very much
I don’t think he’s a terrible person. I think he was handed so many losing hands. Second son to viserys , his wife hated him, he defeated the treyarchy almost single-handedly with improvisational transcendence as he doesn’t have one word of dialogue during the stepstone battle where he kills the crab feeding asshole.
Oooh that's why he laughed... I only just now got that. Vaemond was all talking about his family's Velaryon blood, saying, "ours runs thick, ours runs true... and ours will never thin," or something to that effect. I guess that's a veiled reference to the bastardy of Rhaenyra's and Harwin's children and perhaps even a challenge to her... he's essentially saying that the only person that will possibly inherit the lordship of Driftmark is one whose pure Valyrian blood remains unbesmirched. Which plays to his favor eventually, after his nephew Laenor's faked demise and his brother Corlys's own brush with death. But I guess he could not have really anticipated either of those events happening.
That scene where he helps Viserys to the throne wasn't suppose to happen. Viserys accidentally dropped the crown, and what we saw was improv. The showrunners thought it was so good, they left it in the show.
For me it was when he said "I will speak of my brother as I wish, you will not". Shows that although they got their problems and he doesn't just blindly accept everything he says and does, he's still his brother and has his back, he won't let someone else badmouth him like that.
Matt Smith and Paddy Consadine both created characters waaaaay beyond the scope of the text. If awards shows meant more than a ratz azz they'd sweep some awards.
This show has made me wish there was a time travel hole under neath dragon stone and somehow Daemon ends up in Westeros over a hundred years later takes Rhaenyra with him, marries Daenerys and ends up taking over Westeros a la Aegon the Conqueror and his two wives once more lol such a great character
@NAJ P. Jackson eight-ten thousands of years before...no wonder white walkers are taken as mythical creatures lol who would have thought they would come even after so many years for revenge 🤣
@ABC CINEMA That happened thousands of years before Aegon even conquered Westeros. The Night King was definitely of the First Men. Popular theory was he was once a Stark before the Children of the forest corrupted him.
Daemon sighs as he confront Aemond, it's like looking into a mirror of 20 years ago..... A dangerous, cunning wild card with a royal name and lethal sword hand.
@loxandbagels Agree. I think Aemond knows that Daemon is the ultimate baddie and wants the chance to try himself-to see if he can take Daemon down. Doubt it 😉
@Mehki Russell It's a fantasy TV series, with dragons and such. Historically incest also happened, for example in ancient Egypt. I don't support it irl but it's just a Targaryen thing ok?
Matt Smith was born to be Daemon Targaryen all along. You did not include his City Watch speech, that was one of the best along with helping his brother to the throne.
Daemons biggest enemy is boredom. He would rather fight the Nigh King and Viseryon freezing far above the Wall, than having cozy, predictable, safe, rich life. I think his unpredictable nature is his way of making his life more fun. He knows he's a gray character and he likes it. Being just mainly good or bad would bore him. This. He's a complex character but he is never dull. The most Targaryen of all Targaryens, especially the idgaf attitude. Bet he finds being king rather boring than appealing at best, he longs for adventure and the thrill of it.
@Ariane B Not to me, but people somehow love him. I think hes young Daemon. Hes 20, Daemon is actually +-43 in the show+books in Dance of Dragons, so hes mainly behind cause of 22year gap. But for sure, to me personally Daemon is 8,5/10 while Aemond 6/10.
Aemond is nowhere close nor even a bit behind lol. What has he done tbh? Aside from being vengeful for his eye? Like cmon now. He would have been in the same breathing level of Daemon if he purposefully killed Luke, and Vhagar listened to him. That would make him a more respected dragonrider. Daemon can spiritually connect to 2 dragons, and does not need to command Caraxes. Daemon contributed Goldcloaks and Stepstones legacies to the realm. People are overrating Aemond so hard, he's nowhere even a bit behind Daemon. He's just a one-eyed boy who claimed he was well read, but can't control a dragon and doesn't have any contributions to the realm.
Matt Smith is such a great actor, I didn’t think I’d be able to watch without imagining him as the 11th doctor, but Daemon is so unique and interesting that I forget he was the Doctor.
Although we've only had one season, he ranks at the very top of my favorite characters in either of the shows. Layers of complexity. And although everyone's main objective is to sit the Iron Throne, his motives aren't always clear. A true mixture of the ying and the yang.
This is by far the best written character of the shows. His motives still aren't clear. It felt like he wanted the iron throne but he never once questioned his brother's rule. Ofcourse he would disobey his command but the fact that he's helping Rhaenyra get the iron throne makes up for it. I would hate it of in coming seasons it turns out he's helping Rhaenyra only to get the iron throne, I'm gonna lose it.
He is loyal and believe in family, he only wanted to be Heir because it’s his right and he is loyal , he doesn’t care about the throne in that way . But , yea coming up you’re going to be heartbroken but not for that reason.
Daemon was never a true threat to his brother. He loved his brother deeply and only wishes to protect him… he saw Otto for what he was. And look.. also I’d I recall.. we never SAW daemon make that mocking toast only hearing Otto report that he did. At this point I’d wager he exaggerated if not lied. When daemon sees Viserys old and sick.. DYING he has a hard time. He STUTTERS and can’t look at him. His brother reduced to this and had suspected the greens poisoning him. Which I agree on. Daemon was a scape goat the black sheep… when we should have been focusing on the Green…
In that moment that Daemon charged the Crabfeeders entire army out running arrows and slaying 14 men no one in the entire GOT series was stopping him. Daemon is that dude when fully motivated. A True Rogue/Warrior. Strong, Fast, Accurate, and Fearless.
@Mockingslur Ser Barristan the bold is the finest knight in the Seven Kingdoms. Great story, IIRC Lord Tywin Lannister gave him until the morning before he put the whole town to the torch. That story reminded me of James Bond shit in the medieval times. But let's be real. The dragonlords can just cook these knights in their armor..
@KD It was never said they were the best. It just said they were basically amazing at fighting...I don't see either one of them charging the beach of the Crabfeeder killing 15 men and outrunning arrows....Daemon is the bravest of them all.
Love the connection which is set up between Daemon and Aemond. Aemond stole Daemon's ex wife's dragon. Daemon is an idol to him. Both younger brothers to the king, both brave warriors, love chaos.
Daemon was a true Dragon and should have been king, with Rhaenyra as his queen.. some shit probably would have still gone down but the Targaryens would have never lost their Dragons and thus probably wouldn't have lost Robert's rebellion years later.
@JT Thomas Not literally daemon would be there 170 years later to fight Robert I ment it more like daemon was so powerful if he would’ve bin king with his niece in a sarcastic way he would still be there to fight Robert because no one would stop him if he were king
@Bruce Wayne We all know that. But when you have a literal dragonriding gene and all the other dragonrider families are dead... it's kind of a necessity. There are Valyrians left, but none of them carry the gene. Only the Velarions, because of Rhaenys. But even the old Valyrian Dragonrider families practised it. They didn't even want to mix with other dragonriders. It must be tied to blood magic secrets. Or it was just the ultimate step for a bunch of eugenics obsessed aristocrats with nukes idk
@Bruce Wayne isnt the usurper King, Aegon II, married to his sister Haelena? Werent Viserys and Daemond's parents, first cousins? Wasnt Aegon Aegon I the Conquerer married to BOTH his sisters? ...come on, dude. Incest in GOT universe among Targaryens is just mandatory
@Greater Grievobeast 55 It wouldn't really be an alternative line tho both of Daemon's sons Aegon and Viserys were kings thus the male line that led to Rhaegar and Dany was Daemon's.
In DnD, He is a Red Dragon, the pure embodiment of chaos and cruelty with a hint of madness. While visery's is the silver dragon, king hearted and peaceful to the end
The writing of this show is phenomenal, episode 1 I think that Daemon will be the next Joffrey just for him to become my favorite character a few episodes later.
I think when Daemon was talking to his wife, he wasn't going to hurt her. She fell with the horse and he steps on her arm to see if she would cry out, but she doesn't, she just looks away. I think he may have been giving her mercy in his way because she would only linger and die if paralyzed. She seems like a woman he could love in some weird way. Just a thought.
No, he meant to kill her. He made sure the horse smelt Caraxes on him, she baited him with jokes about how he was impotent because she knew she was paralyzed from the neck down. Daemon fully intended on killing her because his brother wouldn't allow him a divorce and he couldn't have multiple wives as his brother forbade it.
You're sure what a kingdom is so cruel that it's going to hire a murderer to behead a child, please don't defend him if I hire a murderer to behead your son.
Well, that's pure nonsense, because the children of Damon and his later generations may become incompetent or timid kings, who you don't expect all generations of Damon to be warriors like Damon himself.
20:30 "Dreams didn't make us kings. Dragons did." That is an incredibly important line. So many Targaryens became victim of their own dreams. Remember Aemon Targaryen? Who famously told Aegon VI "Jon Snow" Targaryen to "kill the boy". He said the following to Sam: I see them in my dreams, Sam. I see a red star bleeding in the sky. I still remember red. I see their shadows on the snow, hear the crack of leathern wings, feel their hot breath. *_*My brothers dreamed of dragons too, and their dreams killed them, every one.*_* Egg, the good king.. most likely committed a terrible crime at summerhall trying to hatch dragons killing almost his entire family. (possibly Rhaegar was supposed to be sacrificed but lived/survived thanks to Duncan and his foot). And it is the same here.. Aegons dream.. keeping secrets (stupidly) kills people. The last people to ever know about this prophecy were Ned Starks father and brother who got killed by Aerys. Because they kept it secret everything backfired so incredibly terribly.. Dreams and Prophecies are dangerous.. dont assume to konw or predict the future.
I always wondered what would have happened if Daemon actually stayed by his brother's side till the end. He was such a force of nature that it's hard to believe the Targaryen bloodline wouldn't be just as powerful in the SOIAF era as it was back then
Daemon tamed Vermithor. Vermithor has over a 200 foot wingspan and very experienced in killing and has seen an entire history of wars. Vermithor is almost as big as Vhagar. Daemon just hit the lottery and the fact he also holds Caraxes "The BloodWorm", another serious lethal killer as well makes him as defiant as he wants to be. In my opinion Drogon vs Caraxes would be the dream match to see in a dragon fantasy fight. Drogon has a 190 foot wingspan at only 8 years old while most dragons that age are 100-120. He is also the exact replica of Balerion in form and muscle tone and skull, a True Alpha Male Dragon. Caraxes is deformed but it made him over 200 feet long as well as a 190 foot wingspan. His deformity makes him extremly agile like a cobra snake and he fights as ferocious as any Dragon. Caraxes super long neck makes his fire breath shoot like a long range flame thrower with tons of force which gives him the advantage in a fire contest, Drogon is physically stronger but not by a lot. It would be a good one for sure.
@Lee there was never any indication in the show as to there being blood magic on them. The only situation it was used around that time was to try save Drogo and it killed her baby, but never said anything about the eggs at all. It's honestly just headcanon explanations for it same as my random theory that it'd be cool if Balerion turned out to father those eggs since we have no idea when they were layed and one of them even kinda looks like him.
@TraydersAnonymous In the book Daemon keeps Caraxes, and Caraxes rips Vhagars throat out while Vhagar bites Caraxes wing off.. they basically kill each other in mid air then Daemon jumps from his dragon onto Vhagar and stabs Aemond in his bad eye and kills him then they all fall to the sea from the sky. Daemon was never seen again after that.
@Cole Campbell A ton of the dragons are descendants of Balerion, would not be surprised if Drogon is his son. Drogon had a 196 foot wing span at just 8 years old with a very muscular neck for his age...any dragon his age is smaller than him so Drogon is most definitely the future of Alpha Male Dragons.
The scene where Deamon chokes Rhaenyra is one of his most impactful scenes. Showing his true self of a man who cannot stand shit he thinks is bullshit. He would've been a harsh King, but not necessarly a bad one.
You're sure it's not a bad king to order and hir two murderers to take a multiyear child to get revenge, to be honest, Damon doesn't care less about Reneira's children and Renira himself, but on the pretext of murdering Reinira's son, he wanted to start the war, and unfortunately he succeeded, making almost the dragon generation extinct.
Best part was Viserys being surprised after dropping the crown and denying help... Only to see that help is coming from Daemon and he happily accepts it.
I don’t think any character fits the “sigma” archetype better than Daemon. He gives absolutely zero fucks about anything other than upholding the Targaryens reign.
I love that at this point of the Song of Ice and fire saga, the Targaryens are still very much dragonlords and they are masters of the art. Here we see Daemon waking the dragon, only true Valyrian dragonlords can do such a thing. By the time Daenerys' time came around, most of the art was lost.
I absolutely love the two moments where Aemond looks at Daemon like a hungry beast. He wants to fight his uncle so bad, to see who's the better warrior.
Their faces when when the blood wyrm made its entrance is the face you make when you realize that sometimes 20 good men just ain't enough and this is one of those times. Edit: it's also the face you make when you forget your enemy has a dragon and are reminded in the worst way possible.
@Ariane B Are you awetistic bro when did I say he should be a Disney prince all I said was he never shows affection to his velaryon family which Is a fact so cry more you idiot. It has nothing to do with the type of character daemon is they purposefully show him being disinterested in them it's just weird
@Cairne Thunderhoof Bro? The fck you expect Daemon for?? To be a Disney Prince?? Gosh you're overreacting this sht. The fact that he stayed with them for 10 years is already something big for an unhinged character like Daemon. Laena is even disappointed that he always just reads in the library, when she knows he's more than that. Laena herself said she made peace that she might not be the first choice of a wife. Don't expect Daemon to be a fckn Disney Prince. He can even hurt Rhaenyra, he pissed off his brother. Demanding Daemon to be a perfect Disney Prince and be so lovey dovey is not fckn it. Get your sht together.
@Ariane B Rewatched it and he literally turns his back on his kids after their mother dies basically never spends time with them, argues with their mother while they're in foreign lands she doesn't want to be in and then kills her brother and then her uncle AND bangs rhaenyra right after she dies basically. So yeah he pretty much 99% - 1% showed he cares about the velaryons.
You forgot the part where he had been burning the Crabfeeders men all day and hops off the dragon covered in ash and blood. The fact that he was the only one fighting was pretty significant for me.
Daemon is ruthless and honorable. After all is trials and tribulations with the King his brother he loved him dearly. Daemon was meant to be the sword of the King. I am glad Daemon was able to make amends with his brother before he died. Losing his wife in such a manner hurt Daemon a great deal.
So far this show has been so much better than GoT. I can't wait to see what they do with Dunc and Egg, Blackfyre rebellion, Aemon the dragonknight. So much possibilities. It's like a Marvel series with the rich lore of the Ice and Fire saga. The Blackfyre rebellion is so interesting because the "bastard" is a true Targaryen; a warrior, scholar, and leader of men. Even his father, the King, gave him BLACKFYRE, The Targaryen Valyrian Sword.
Daemon Targaryen is my favorite character in HOD; he’s got the anti-hero vibe, but seems like he does the heavy lifting; and get the job done. Kind of like JR Ewing in Dallas; he’s bad but good.
Vhagar and Caraxes flying together, I could imagine Vhagar blowing that fireball and caraxes going through it and Daemon comes out the other side a skeleton with white hair and his arms out hahaha
The using of the dragon class to cut the lip may be foreshadowing of dameon becoming the night king. I thought it was a dumb theory. The more I think, it could have happened based on his disrespect of argon’s dream. Choking Rhenyra at the mention of it was perhaps a sign of deep trouble for him in the future as the night king. One who can ride a dragon and is immune to fire.
There is a Nights King not Night King but he was a ranger who lay w what they suspect may have been a female WW. But there is no night king like from the show
He’s so attracted to war. Destruction. He’s the embodiment of a pure Targaryen.
@epitaph Actually Daemon and Viserys' great grandmother was from a Westerosi house from the crownlands, but I can't remember the House name.
True but most powerful people in that world are lol
@ShloopyDooperson The Lore Guy exactly! So it's impossible than their children are genetically the same as Aegon's and Haelena's.
@Paola Machin and Rheanyra being 75% bred with Daemon who was 100%
@ShloopyDooperson The Lore Guy Rhaenerya is 75% Targaryen, his brother Aegon II is 50%.
Love the interaction with Christin Cole, where Cole reminds Daemon of being unhorsed by him. Daemon just takes it in stride with a laugh. He can take it and also dish it out.

@Josh Beacham daemon didn’t take shit😂 cole hasn’t fucked with her in years
The best part is after all is said and done Daemon still took his girl.
"Sir Crispin"
Daemon is the definition of chaotic neutral. Cunning and brave but also impulsive and narcissistic. They did a really good job making a character so unpredictable yet believable.

@Wonipowa What a wonderful character who's all fighting behind the war, so if you're looking for something like this, you can see the movies of World War I and II, Damon Targaryen just loves war, nothing else.
Apparently knowledge is power and Daemon did not know the song of ice n fire. Otherwise he'd of been made king

Daemon protected his brother. I don't care what anyone says, that is the only love--pure love that I've seen in him.
"The Absolute Best of Daemon Targaryen." Aka, Daemon stressing Viserys out for 22 minutes. 😂
I will speak of my favorite character as I wish.
You will not
Omg I'm crying laughing 😄
@Miss Spaz those years in which they didn't see each other, were the years when Viserys' disease spread the most
Dead lol🎉
Aka any scene with Daemon
Give Daemon three dragons, an army of unsullied and two of the best swordsmen in Westeros and even the White King would shiver
Daemon would've taken King's Landing in a day haha. Tyrion was the worst thing to happen to Daenerys
The Night King is Most Likely to be a Stark
@Lee that just blew my mind.. except I think the Nightking was created waayyy before The Dance.
I think my personal favorite scene of Daemon's is definitely when he starts laughing to take the attention away from the Velaryon throwing shade at Rhaenyra AT A FUNERAL. Oh yah he always submitted to him thats what a good brother in a monarchy does when they are the younger one straight up.
Matt Smith and Paddy Consadine both created characters waaaaay beyond the scope of the text. If awards shows meant more than a ratz azz they'd sweep some awards.
I think they will , this show blew us all away and we can’t wait for 2024
I think Daemon would've been the happiest person in the world if he has to fight the white walkers instead of Jon Snow.

True
@ABC CINEMA That happened thousands of years before Aegon even conquered Westeros. The Night King was definitely of the First Men. Popular theory was he was once a Stark before the Children of the forest corrupted him.
No doubt he will be happiest but D&D will probably butcher his character to subvert expectations.
Daemon sighs as he confront Aemond, it's like looking into a mirror of 20 years ago.....
A dangerous, cunning wild card with a royal name and lethal sword hand.
@Blockboi 38”the comparisons need to stop” they’re literally meant to be compared.
@MiaMariebythesea oh yeah, you see that look Aemond got on his face when Daemon chopped Vaemond's head off? He was def sporting wood seeing that.
@Zain Rath What does Aemond do in the books besides burn the riverlands? He’s a terrible strategist
@loxandbagels Agree. I think Aemond knows that Daemon is the ultimate baddie and wants the chance to try himself-to see if he can take Daemon down. Doubt it 😉
@MiaMariebythesea "One day I'll have to put down this wannabe poser ass bitch" - Daemon
Basically every second Daemon is on screen is his best
Basically Matt Smith is just smoking!
@Mehki Russell It's a fantasy TV series, with dragons and such. Historically incest also happened, for example in ancient Egypt. I don't support it irl but it's just a Targaryen thing ok?
what about when he was fucking his niece ?
Basically you are 100% correct.
Matt Smith was born to be Daemon Targaryen all along. You did not include his City Watch speech, that was one of the best along with helping his brother to the throne.
He’s helping his bro in this. Unless a new edit
In westeros divorce lawyers are rare, but rocks are everywhere.
Imagine the spin off.. Daemon Targaryen, victim of divorce court!
Damn! that's COLD! funny but COLD!
Bring back divorce rocks in America

i just notice about that and then see your comment crack me🤣

Daemon can spiritually connect to 2 dragons, and does not need to command Caraxes. Daemon contributed Goldcloaks and Stepstones legacies to the realm. People are overrating Aemond so hard, he's nowhere even a bit behind Daemon. He's just a one-eyed boy who claimed he was well read, but can't control a dragon and doesn't have any contributions to the realm.
16:19 one of the best scenes of this season. Such a powerful moment between the two brothers and the love Daemon shows for his brother.
I would hate it of in coming seasons it turns out he's helping Rhaenyra only to get the iron throne, I'm gonna lose it.
lmao. read the story. it's such a small part of Rogues. All I can say is that Targaryens will sit on the iron throne for another hundred years.
@Lee Selmy did storm a castle to get the mad king, which was just as much of a suicide mission.
@KD It was never said they were the best. It just said they were basically amazing at fighting...I don't see either one of them charging the beach of the Crabfeeder killing 15 men and outrunning arrows....Daemon is the bravest of them all.
And yet Ser Barristan selby lives in this lore, or Ser Arthur Dayne
Love the connection which is set up between Daemon and Aemond. Aemond stole Daemon's ex wife's dragon. Daemon is an idol to him. Both younger brothers to the king, both brave warriors, love chaos.
Even their names are an anagram. You take the D from the beginning of Daemon and put it to the end, you get Aemond.
Daemon was a true Dragon and should have been king, with Rhaenyra as his queen.. some shit probably would have still gone down but the Targaryens would have never lost their Dragons and thus probably wouldn't have lost Robert's rebellion years later.
Actually, the line of succession is Damon's blood. His and Rhaenyra's oldest son, Aegon ascends the throne, and his brother Viserys after him.
Most Targaryens were men pretending to be dragons.
Daemon is a Dragon caged in a man's flesh.
The look Aemond gave Daemon when he killed Vaemond. He was like "omg, I want to be like that guy. Teach me!"
exactly what i was thinking
When she asked him to take her away and wed her, kill the Kingsguard, she was serious! She really wanted him to do that!
Daemon is the man, can't wait to see what he gets up to next season.
In DnD, He is a Red Dragon, the pure embodiment of chaos and cruelty with a hint of madness. While visery's is the silver dragon, king hearted and peaceful to the end
any one else think Daemon literally has the strongest bond to his Dragon Caraxes
No. He wants vermithor to get a rider so they can have a weapon to match with vhagar
does he mount and command both caraxes and vermithor
The writing of this show is phenomenal, episode 1 I think that Daemon will be the next Joffrey just for him to become my favorite character a few episodes later.
Dreams didn’t make us kings, dragons did. Best line by far
Deamon Targaryen is the main character in the serie and Matt Smith is the perfect chose to the role.
Daemon is so right about Otto Hightower, Otto is the Tywin-like greedy leech always wanting for MORE
I would Otto is more like Roose and Littlefinger put together.
This guy carried the series... No doubt
Prince Daemon is my favorite character. He's a total badass, & doesn't take shit from no one!
You're sure what a kingdom is so cruel that it's going to hire a murderer to behead a child, please don't defend him if I hire a murderer to behead your son.
Daemon knows what needs to be done. Unleash him and strike fear into your enemies for years to come.
Well, that's pure nonsense, because the children of Damon and his later generations may become incompetent or timid kings, who you don't expect all generations of Damon to be warriors like Damon himself.
20:30 "Dreams didn't make us kings. Dragons did."
That is an incredibly important line.
So many Targaryens became victim of their own dreams.
Remember Aemon Targaryen? Who famously told Aegon VI "Jon Snow" Targaryen to "kill the boy". He said the following to Sam:
I see them in my dreams, Sam. I see a red star bleeding in the sky. I still remember red. I see their shadows on the snow, hear the crack of leathern wings, feel their hot breath.
*_*My brothers dreamed of dragons too, and their dreams killed them, every one.*_*
Egg, the good king.. most likely committed a terrible crime at summerhall trying to hatch dragons killing almost his entire family.
@Lee correct but they fell into the god's eye not the sea.
Daemon was never seen again after that.
does daemon end up mounting vermmithor and the blood worm or does someone else mount vermithor
Why does no one mention his gold cloak massacre in these copilations? That was an amazing scene
He has the characteristics of a true King… Ruthless, cunning, and brave. He’d do anything to protect his family name.
I love that at this point of the Song of Ice and fire saga, the Targaryens are still very much dragonlords and they are masters of the art. Here we see Daemon waking the dragon, only true Valyrian dragonlords can do such a thing. By the time Daenerys' time came around, most of the art was lost.
A terrific actor, he nailed the role.
Matt Smith steals every scene he's in
I absolutely love the two moments where Aemond looks at Daemon like a hungry beast. He wants to fight his uncle so bad, to see who's the better warrior.
@Wingnut1989 Why wouldn't he say the same thing if Damon came back five or 10 years later.
looked more like a look of he should have fought with him all these years
He wants to fight him but he knows he ain't got the juice
Their faces when when the blood wyrm made its entrance is the face you make when you realize that sometimes 20 good men just ain't enough and this is one of those times.
Edit: it's also the face you make when you forget your enemy has a dragon and are reminded in the worst way possible.
8:52
"I knew you couldnt finish"
Daemon: (picks up rock)
"I shouldnt have said that, I should not have said that"
I’m a sucker for a fiery visual, contrasted with darkness, and the scene with Vermithor is just…incredible
George's favorite Targaryen for a reason. The man is a menace! 🤣
I wish they kept the scene of him hugging their daughters after Laena's death and don't make him so emotionally detached from them
@Cairne Thunderhoof Leanor is still alive
@Ariane B what does helping the king or rhaenyra have to do with the velaryons you dumb fuck.
It's amuses me that we have not even scratched the surface with this beast just wait til s2 he is gonna be off the f***ing chain 🔥👍🙌
You forgot the part where he had been burning the Crabfeeders men all day and hops off the dragon covered in ash and blood. The fact that he was the only one fighting was pretty significant for me.
YT made me cut over half of the edit, its was originally 45 mins long an that was in it.
they NAILED the casting, he literally makes the fucking show
I gotta say I F-ING LOVE THIS ACTOR!!!!!! 🤩
Daemon is ruthless and honorable. After all is trials and tribulations with the King his brother he loved him dearly. Daemon was meant to be the sword of the King. I am glad Daemon was able to make amends with his brother before he died. Losing his wife in such a manner hurt Daemon a great deal.
Could have dedicated a season to Daemon and his second wife.
Yes, please
So far this show has been so much better than GoT. I can't wait to see what they do with Dunc and Egg, Blackfyre rebellion, Aemon the dragonknight. So much possibilities. It's like a Marvel series with the rich lore of the Ice and Fire saga. The Blackfyre rebellion is so interesting because the "bastard" is a true Targaryen; a warrior, scholar, and leader of men. Even his father, the King, gave him BLACKFYRE, The Targaryen Valyrian Sword.
My favorite line was "he can keep his tongue " classic
If Aemond was Daemon's kid he'd be his favorite
What an unbelievable budget you must have to make shows/movies like these.
Daemon Targaryen is my favorite character in HOD; he’s got the anti-hero vibe, but seems like he does the heavy lifting; and get the job done.
Kind of like JR Ewing in Dallas; he’s bad but good.
Daemons my favorite character in the show hands down
I am so crazy about Daemon. I can't get enough
aemond looking like he feel in love once he saw daemon kill vaemond😂
Just put every time he is on screen. Because even just his facial movements say so much.
You did great, I'd have loved to have seen him fighting in the step stones however.
I swear Caraxes was never my favorite until this show . I love his sounds !!! I love it !
7:27 his little laugh had me dying
Daenon Targaryen. A True Sigma Male.
Caraxes is so cool. Its more of a wyrm or wyvern than a dragon.
He's called The Blood Wyrm in the book, so it makes sense he looked like one.
There’s a whole story about him in another video. He’s part fire red wyrm
The best character in the show & probably the whole got universe
I don't see anyone that can take care of business and fight the way is needed as Damen can
George RR Martin on Daemon "The wonder and terror of his age"
He is a warrior to the end, what a great character, and great job putting Matt in this role.
He's funny " she is like your going to have a child, he says one day" 😂
Love it when he lies flat in the Throne Room after getting scolded by Viserys.
Now we have to wait at least 2 years , and now my watch begins.
Still The Duke of Edinburgh to me. Rest In Peace to the Queen.
Daemon is the epitome of 'Chaos is a ladder', except chaos is a dragon.' :D
The scene where he picks up the rock.... Arya was also faced with killing the person holding them back. She chose life.
I think there is more Valyrian in this 22 minute clip then there was Elvish in 8 hours of Rings of power.
lol facts
Watching Matt Smith in this role gives me hope for a drow movie.
Vhagar and Caraxes flying together, I could imagine Vhagar blowing that fireball and caraxes going through it and Daemon comes out the other side a skeleton with white hair and his arms out hahaha
When Daemon married to Laena, He more matured and calculative. Laena change Daemon to be a better husband
8:18
Oberyn Martell: a bow Is a bad option in close quarters
Can’t say I’ve ever found a character as attractive as I find daemon.
John Snow was my favorite character. Daemod is much more of a better character and has more balls than Snow.
But there is no night king like from the show
No, he is not the Nighy King . Also, there is no Night King for real , that’s something D&D made up
Sorry, but the Night King is already created by the time House of the Dragon takes place.
18:45 caraxes scenes always so EPIC
If you hear closely, you can hear Damon''s footsteps before cutting the head off
The guy was wrong on so many points, but when it came to war he was so f right!
Can't wait to see 😍
Total Targaryen Badass!👍
He's an asshole. I love him.
The GOATS Daemon and Caraxes the rogue prince and the blood wyrm 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
How little brothers stress their big brothers
Daemon chaotic neutral af!
