They have solar panels and wind turbines to generate power, as well as renewable food supply and a large stock of canned food. It can last for roughly 3-5 just on the canned food alone.
They also have a water filtration system to take water from the outside.
3-5 years would be enough for the nuclear winter to be done, and the world will be habitable enough to leave for supplies.
@PrinceDandie yes as long as the external systems are well designed, they shouldn't fail in the event of fallout, it is a different story if a nuclear blast takes place nearby which could damage them
