Beach Shelter Stealth Camping

I found a great beach shelter that had been built on the coast so I decided to camp in it for the night. It was very close to a dog-walking trail so there was plenty of people to hide from. A very neat spot for camping, but a risky camping spot indeed! Late to bed and early to get up.

@Mr. Cloud ArE YoU TrYiNg To ShUt DoWn My FrEe SpEeCh?!?!?!?!?👁👄👁
@Mr. Cloud nobody is trying to shut down your free speech, theyre just using their right to tell you how entitled and ridiculous you sound
This man has been through a lot but still manages to be a really nice bloke. Hats off to this guy!
@Stephen Frawley what happened to him?
Exactly my thoughts. I watched the blanket fort tent video that was recommended and from there watched several random videos. Then I watched the beautiful tribute to his wife, heartbreaking to watch. His love of life and strength just add another layer to his videos !!!!
When that rice “exploded” out of the container 😂 Another great video. Genuine good dude. Keep making them, stay strong ❤
@Jon Epoint Have a look at his stuff from 7 months ago
@oa New viewer here. What has he been through?
Broke my heart when Steve said he was crying between sets 😞 Steve you are one of a kind it's great you are back we all love you here thank you so much for sharing your life with us and how honest you are about things
I think what I like about Steve is that I see the same fears and worries that I would have being out there. And he doesn't hide them.
He suffered a tragic personal loss. We all wish him the very best for the future
Same. You basically took the words out of my mouth.
I’m going to give you the long story, but please read to the end. As I was growing up, I would go camping with my uncle on a very regular basis. We would go to a National Forest a few hours away and do very primitive camping. We would try new equipment, but the idea was less is more. Often, we wouldn’t take more than a large tarp, a couple of bungie cords (beer of course!), a saw, and a little bit of food. These are some of my best memories as an adolescent and early adult. Then life happened and we started going less and less.
I joined the Army and moved away. Starting a new chapter in life, I got to do some really cool things and see some very cool places. I deployed to Afghanistan twice (for a year each time) and got to experience war firsthand. There were constant explosions and firefights, and a lot of good people weren’t the same after the dust cleared. We lived in a tent (with about 30 people), I slept on a cot. Space was extremely tight, but that’s as close to camping as you can get in that region lol. I was injured pretty substantially during my first deployment, and again on the second.
After returning home, sleep was a big hurdle. It’s kind of strange that while you’re over there you sleep fine (maybe because you’re just so drained from the day), but once you get home is when it gets harder. I used to lay in bed and imagine being back on my cot and in my sleeping bag in order to appreciate the astounding comfort difference and try to go to sleep. Sometimes it helped, sometimes not.
Recently, I accidentally clicked on and watched one of your stealth camping videos. Not gonna lie at first I was like what the hell is this guy doing. But after watching, I noticed how carefree you seemed. How much you truly enjoyed being outside (and drinking beer). It absolutely brought me back to when I used to love camping. I never did it in the middle of a freeway, or behind a billboard or any of the other crazy places you have- but I would like to.
The point of this whole ramble is that your videos bring a sense of calm to me. I watch one every night before going to bed, and it really helps to put my mind in a place of calmness and happiness. I sleep a lot better recently. I really appreciate it. I appreciate your humor and your approach to getting into the woods (or wherever). I miss camping very much and plan to get back to it.
Lastly, I Googled your name to try to get some background on who this guy is. I was shocked to see that you recently suffered a terrible loss in your life. I want to offer my deepest condolences. Coming from someone who also has delt with tragedy, I understand how hard it can be. I want you to know that what you do brings joy and happiness to peoples lives. Keep doing what you’re doing and know that you are no longer sleeping alone in the woods.
Patrick thanks for sharing your beautiful story. I’m so glad you found Steve and his calmness to help you relax at the end of the day.
I’m truly sorry that what you did for your country now keeps you from resting at night, but I’m glad you’ve found some solace with Steve’s stealth camping.
I send you a big hug from Australia.
I agree as far as the videos being good for winding down, good nighttime material lol.
Hi Patrick, I dont know you or will probably ever meet you. But I hope you are well my friend. Steve Is a great example of how good people should live their lives, and I am glad that a good person like yourself agrees. I wish you good health sir
Beautifully said. I'm glad you found this community too. Hope you stick around for more.
Thank you for your Service and Sacrifice, Sir. Wish you many happy days camping or whatever else brings you joy!
My heart continues to go out to you! You've suffered a tremendous loss. I am impressed that you continue to show up with gentleness, uncertainty, and grief. It would be so fun and spooky to camp there.
Please forgive me, I just found this channel. Im sorry to hear for the loss, wandering what happened... Prayers sent
I just found this channel last night. Bless your soul man I can tell you are a genuine and kind guy. Hang in there man it gets easier with time but it never really goes away. I’ve had quite a few family members pass away to various reasons in the past 5 years so I can relate. You’ll be okay man keep up the incredible effort.
Thank you for the kind words, and welcome
The little aside to the camera about having been crying is exactly what makes me think you're going to be okay, Steve. I know there's a lot we don't see, but just the fact that you're okay with grieving and being in a hard place is testament to your character. We all love you, Steve.
definitely 👍 still working and being uncomfortable all while crying and grieving he will definitely make it through nothing will stop him 👍
Thank you for sharing your emotions with us. We all are sad for your loss. You def don't get over it, you walk through it, as stated so we'll above. I love the story in the Bible when Jesus said He had to go but would be back but they wouldn't recognize Him. But he said He must go so He could send His Comforter, the Holy Spirit. One of my favorites. But then He had to face Crucifixion... Praying for you for the pain to ease up just a little. We really appreciate all the videos & love you very much Steve. God bless you in your endeavors of this different life now. Thank you so much. Just do what you can do, that's all we want for you. Prayers, patience, love & peace. We'll be the patient ones!!!🙏❤️🙏🤗🥰😘🙏❤️🙏💔☝️😊
was about to sleep until I heard what he said at that exact part of the video. turned back around to finish this beatiful video. we love you Steve
@Waikato Pahi you’ve chosen the right path, good on you.
So painful to face emotions but it’s the kindest thing to do to yourself.
Blessings to you.
I agree. I just heard that that's the reason women seem to get over relationships faster than men. It's not that they don't care, it's just that they have always had to embrace their pain and grief, and that heals faster than what men do. Try to ignore our pain and carry on.
I only started embracing my grief and started taking care of myself properly in the last few years. The difference sounds corny because it is "miraculous". I was starting to believe it would never end.
Steve, please remember every time you prop up that cammera and hunker down in these amazing spots, we're all in there with you mate, all the thousands of us that love your videos are right there with you. Me, for example, loved the trip from Australia to join you this night. Just like us, your wife is with you there as well. Please never forget that, thank you for everything, and keep doing what you're doing. Your impact in this scene is is beyond comprehension. Thanks again for another amazing video mate !
Steve I love you and hope you get through whatever you’re going through man. Thanks again for helping me sleep so many lonely depressing nights
So sorry for your loss Steve- thank you for your willingness to share that with us- I do know how hard it can be... But, also, thanks for keeping on with yer travels and experiences on the channel!

welcome, thanks for watching
Steve, you’re such a trooper! Despite all you’ve been through you still bring so much joy to people’s lives through your videos. Cheers 🍻
The entire context of the video changes dramatically when Steve mentions he's been crying between takes. Makes you realize how much work goes into putting on a cheery face and making these vids entertaining for us viewers. Thanks for all you do, Steve! Hang in there!
@OneOhNein the red pill is always the hardest to swallow!
@Patty Fluegel best comment
@OneOhNein The truth is anti semitic.
That’s anti semeitic
@MajorCanada Probably the only thing that makes him forget, even if it's only for a minute.
Ever the wholesome ambiance and unexpected laughs with you Steve. You’re the best and keep it up to whatever capacity you feel is right. We will always be here for you, as you have been for us.

I have only seen a few videos so far, started with the stealth camping in a roundabout then to the river journeys. I ended up finding the video about your loss, and I feel for you. You seem like a genuinely good guy, no one should have to go through that kind of event. Seeing you continue with a reasonable amount of enthusiasm is inspiring! The honesty section in this video was sobering in a good way, but at the same time saddening. Almost like when you're a kid and you see your parents sad. I hope you continue on with what you love and succeed as well, I know we all enjoy it! Just don't forget that there are still people who care about you and that you're not alone. I look forward to more videos with your crazy neighbor, the boat camping videos are very cool, they remind me of a Huckleberry Fin kind of story, the good ole boys going down the river. Best of luck to you Steve, I look forward to more cool videos.
I'm so happy to see you're still going out camping and making these awesome videos buddy. The world can seem a cruel/sad place but it's good you still manage to see the beauty despite coming into hard times. I'll pray for you.
You make our days brighter, Steve. God bless you, brother
I think this is up there as one of my favourite videos of yours Steve.
I can feel the sheer adventure you're having. You have a unique way of connecting to the audience through your videos. Everyone here feels it. You have a gift my friend and I'm glad you're sharing your adventures with us all.
Seeing you be open about your sadness is making us all feel less alone with our struggles. Crying shows that you have the strength to deal with your emotions. Thank you for still making videos. You are giving us all hope that life can continue after tragedy. Stay strong ❤
Even when stealth camping, we're all with you, buddy. It warms my heart to see the support from others,we are all in this together. I wish you nothing but prosperity and happiness. Keep doing what you're doing, you bring so many people joy and comfort.
I won't go into detail Steve but things have been tough for me too :( you're not alone, and your fans here are with you every step of the way!
So sorry for your loss Steve - I can’t imagine how you must be feeling. You are such an inspiration - I am so proud of you. You are doing so well still putting up videos for all your fans. Hang on in there Steve - you are going to be alright. Take care and sending you lots of love. Xxxx
From here in the UK I just want to say your channel brings me unimaginable joy. You're going through such a lot but you bring so much comfort to others I hope you too can take happiness from knowing your community here is here for YOU Steve
I always try to put his videos on in the background because it's really calming but I end up watching the whole thing with all my attention every single time
Take any breaks you need and cry if you need to. You've been through a lot Steve and we are all here for you. If your next video takes a month then that's how long it will take and we will all be patiently waiting for our next camping trip with you.
How is he going to get paid if he takes time off and not make videos? (I know it sounds harsh, but I mean it well) It must be a very difficult situation. Maybe Crazy neighbor can do a few videos for Steve. I would definitely still watch them :D
No bout-a-doubt-it. Patiently waiting and sending healing, loving thoughts.
Amen to that.
Exactly, we’re not going anywhere!
Great to see you processing things as best as you can, Steve. Love ya man, love your videos! 👍❤️
My wife and I watch you every chance we get. Before, when I was alone, I watched you. With my brother before that. It helps my mind seeing the adventures, the good things and the hope. You do great work and help a lot of people. Your strength is inspiring Steve. Thank you for all you do.
Honestly can’t understand how your videos have become almost therapeutic. Never stop Steve you’re the best of us.
these videos are great bedtime watching. and i mean that in the nicest way. just great chill content that alleviates my stresses. thanks steve
I've loved your videos for years Steve. you're not alone, we are all rooting for you. please keep it up. you keep a lot of people going while you might not know it.
Steve never fails to make it sound like hell will break loose if someone catches him stealth camping. It never gets old. The videos are much more entertaining because of it.
Honestly, I get it. I do quite a lot of wild camping and every time I still get a bit nervous when I see people coming closer. 95% of the time people either don't notice or don't care. But I have had to pack up late at night a couple of times because people threatened to call the cops and it sucks.
It’s an accomplishment when Steve can go undetected
Keeping one step ahead of the cops is a kids game for grown ups. The cops being dog-walkers..... the Judge Dredds of the stealth campers world.
@IARRCSim it’s Canada. He might get a serious Tut tut from a RCMP officer!
Isn't that true he makes it sound like the cops are going to get him s any second
Sorry for your loss Steve. Know that you bring joy to those of us that you are living for
Thank you Steve, you amaze me with your resilience. You have suffered an unimaginable loss but you still have the resolve to continue your, loved by all, channel to carry on. Jess would be so proud of you for how brave you have been.
I must say I could never travel down the river you have and come out so inspiring not to say it was easy but I'm thankful you still create content, my name is steven and you really relate I love camping and car camping to be specific (i should probably video it) but I really wanna get out and visit places just work consumes so much of my time but we can all dream I suppose but you keep it alive for me!
Regardless of everything you are going through remember you have one person right here who always looks forward to seeing your uploads every week you’re the best stay strong my brother 😊
Thank you Steve for being who you are - a wonderful person sharing wonderful camping experiences like this one. Many healing thoughts your way! 👍👍
Thanks, Steve! Great spending time with you.
Link to the Clip : they finally released this
I’ve progressively fell in love with your videos, i always loved camping but these videos give me a whole different idea of it. Keep being cool and creative brother 😊
Binge watching Camping with Steve this weekend! Thanks for letting us be apart of your journey
You are truly one of the most genuine people on this platform. Great content. Hang in there ❤
It's great to see you online again Steve. Sending you lots of hugs from Toronto, ON. Give yourself time to grieve and remember all of the good adventures with your late wife!
Keep your head and spirits up, Steve! We love you, and you have personally given me to inspiration to get back into the woods camping like I did when I was a kid in the B.S.A. [not as easy at 30 as it was at 11 🤣]
Keep up the awesome work buddy! ❤
Steve I'm so sorry you're feeling understandably down. I hope that you realize that there are 1.21M of us that wish we could hug you and tell you how much you are loved. I know you can understand theoretically, but I wish you could feel our actual hugs.
Think we all are having a bad time
Not 1.2M. Thats how many subs he has. His views only 700k and probably less than that wanna hug him.
Aww perfectly said @venusdemilitant ❤️ Love and hugs to you @stevewallis 🤗
Absolutely. Just thinking that he's been through the first Christmas without his beautiful wife. He said that the in-laws bought him those fleece-lined jeans, so he must be on good terms with them. They all must be feeling her loss, and are helping each other through it.
Things may never be quite the same and your new normal of being (without your partner in life) can take a long time to feel ok but like the saying goes, everything is eventual. Hang in there Steve, we live for these videos and they take us away from whatever we are dealing with, for a little while anyways. Thank you so much.
Your shelter reminds me of Long Beach, Vancouver Island, in the 1970s. The dirt road beyond Port Alberni was lined with hippies with their thumb out. They built massive communal tents out of logs and clear plastic. Back then you drove your car onto the beach. Things have changed!
Love your vids Steve! I'm glad to see you going back out. I lost my mom a couple weeks before your wife passed away and we are still trying to figure some things out. I can't describe the joy I get while watching your videos as they inspire me to get out more myself. Wish you the best man!
Steve, so happy to see you back at it! You have a large community behind you. Know that every time you hunker down, you got a whole lot of people with you. You're never alone. I'm sure Beautiful Wife is happy to see you back at it. :D
Your positivity during hard times is sensational, keep pushing forward Steve! We are here for you
There’s something about Steve still being out there that seems very reassuring for the rest of us
The Dude abides
Well, I don’t need Steve to make me realize that. Life goes on.
He’s the man!!
Thanks Steve for another great adventure. Time for step 2
Just found your channel tonight. Sad to hear you recently suffered a tragic loss. My heart goes out to you, Steve, you are one of the rare gems on this platform.

Neighbour gives you a lift, describes raindrops as fairies, pretends you chopped his thumb off, and makes you a morning coffee… I like this guy already! 😊
Love watching your excursions, Steve! Definitely some of the coolest stuff on the website. Wishing you the best 💙
Great video Steve! Love the lessons you are sharing on life and loss. Much love for you man!
Steve needs to get himself a dog, he needs a good companion to help him through his hard times. My heart goes out to you Steve, stay strong buddy
Dog people always think everyone needs a dog 🙄
Dogs are not stealthy
@Viewer He has a cat, hilariously named "garbage"!
Yes, I second that! A good-sized dog that likes the outdoors and is good company. Maybe a husky or an alsatian with lots of personality.
I know I'm late to this video, but I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you are still able to find comfort in camping, and we all appreciate what you do. Thank you, and I'm sorry
Steve, the mate I've never met.
Love your videos.
Your one of a very few people in life that sees a lot of positive within things that do not always go as planned. That's is an amazing trait to have.
You have a good soul and that is easy to see.
Thank you for doing what you do. 👍🍻
Steve u are a man with heart yes grown men cry when u lose someone very close to u I Admire u going out & still doing your stealth camping May God hold u tight prayers for u & your family Thank u again for another amazing video
Be gentle with yourself, Steve. Allow yourself to feel everything you need to feel. We all are here for you. Lots of love from Georgia USA!💕
I can't get over you sleeping on the beach, no fire and lots of opening between the logs. Love watching your videos. Been watching you for some time. 😊
Steve describing a pile of old logs as having a ‘living area’ and a ‘patio’ is why I watch his stuff. Definitely a glass half full kinda guy. Love it
this is not a beer on the beer can I love it🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for taking us on the journey, Steve.
You are so epic man. A lot of people look up to you with your adventurous and strong spirit.
Great video Steve! A coupla months ago my love and I backpacked out on the lost coast in Northern California, surfed and camped the beach. We used a bunch of skills I’ve learned from your videos and had a wonderful time in a beautiful yet unforgiving landscape. Really puts what’s important into perspective

Love you Steve, absolute gem of a person you are
Keeping you in my prayers it’s never easy but we all understand. You have a great network of people and family that care about you ♥️
Hearing Steve say he's crying in between shots, just hits me in the feels... I only wish there were something I could do to make things better...
Same. My lips physically turned upside down like a cartoon character
I’m right there with you joe_breezyjr
Thank you for continuing to share these adventures with us all. It should come as no surprise that you've built a great community here, because people tend to rally around those who are inspiring and heartfelt. I wear my Hunker Down sweatshirt with pride. Looking forward to the next adventure!
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us, Steve.
Even tho he has stuff going on he still put out content for people to watch that’s inspiring keep your head up Steve whatever you’re going through it will get better just continue being you millions of people love you keep up the good work my friend
So sorry for your hard times. Glad you are staying busy. Great videos- just discovered your channel. Sending up prayers for comfort
Thank you for being vulnerable and showing your resilence! You are not alone Steve. We can share in our human experience, different, yet the same. I just wanted to say you are not alone. It is okay to not be okay. You will adjust, yet never be the same. Much love from Van Island! Thank you for the great content :)
So glad to see you Steve. Hope you’re doing okay man and remember to take care of yourself first and foremost. We’ll still be here.
Man, you are the coolest Steve! I love your videos, you are such an inspiration ❤️
This channel was suddenly in my recommended and never have I been so thrilled to come across a creator. You seem so pure and wholesome and good hearted. Watching your videos melts away my own stresses which is rare to find. My heart aches for you and your loss, I’m so sorry about your loss of your love. I look forward to supporting you and your passion in any ways I can. Random-ish but you remind me of the best person I got to know in this life in so many ways and it warms my heart to watch your videos. Please keep on pushing and sharing your light with this world, we all need it!! Your energy is so so appreciated
Thank you, Steve! You are amazing and we all appreciate you and all of what you share with us.
Love you so much Steve. You have gotten so many of us through so many things. You just be you. We will always be here waiting. And Steve,, it's OK to cry. Heart strings are powerful. Jess was an amazing woman, and she will always be a legend to us all. No matter what all of your subs are here to get you through. It's our turn
I haven't known about you for a long time but I've been catching up. I really enjoy your adventures and you're such a personable guy. I hope you will always enjoy doing what so many people enjoy watching. So sorry for your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you. Godspeed as you 'Hunker Down'
Steve, you're inspiring. It's tough for us guys to talk about mental health, and the fact we cry. Seeing you keeping on, despite everything that's happened, is the definition of strength. Thank you.
@William Devereaux Exactly. Keep on hangin' on. Glad to hear you've got a good support group behind you.
@William Devereaux thanks for the support. Sorry to hear you're in a similar situation. And my thoughts and prayers are with you my friend
@E your kind words are greatly appreciated stranger. I know nothing "fits" as of now and life is like forcing a square peg in a round hole. Sometimes I'm able to hammer it in there with enough force but others I don't even try. Life sure is trying. Thanks again 🙏
@pinut187 thank you for the words. These are true statements you speak but that's a whole different barrel to open at a much later date
@RC Ya Later... suspiciously similar situation I'm dealing with man. Be kind to yourself, and don't skimp on taking personal time to reflect on things and really feel your emotions. Stay well friend.
Have you ever had someone else simultaneously camp out in a spot you intended on? Sorry if this has already been in a video or asked, I just found your channel and am catching up. You make great and informative content. It really takes someone away from the busy, bustling world....even if it is in someone's backyard or a roundabout. Much love to you and I'm a bit late but I'm sorry for your loss. She seems like she was a wonderful lady. Good luck in everything and safe travels. ❤️😊
I just started watching your videos and absolutely love what you do. I usually put them on in the background and enjoy listening to your adventures. I find them very relaxing.
Glad to have you back Steve, that rice exploding like that was absolutely hilarious. Glad you're doing better.
I'm glad you're still making videos, Steve. Tip from a photographer, is someone questions you being out near dusk, just tell them you're waiting on "golden hour".
Steve, thank you for sharing your process of healing with us. We will all experience grief at one point in our life if we have not already, and it's good to have you as an example on how to handle that. Not all days are good or bad, they just are. Praying for you and yours, Steve.
Also, how is Garbage?
Even in your dark moments you are still a ray of light shining on so many people. We love you Steve
Another of my fav. Places… thanks for being so brave to camp at that spot. It truly is beautiful!!!!
Nope me either could write it better 🙂🙂🙂
Couldn't have said any better, we all love you Steve.
Couldn’t have put it better
Great to see you back Steve. Stay strong buddy. We are all with you.
Thanks for another stealthy journey Steve!
Used to come here with my mom all the time and wrote a bunch of stuff on the inside of the huts, made me happy to relive some random memories through this popping up in my recommended !
Not clued up on these thing’s, but if there is a best Human award that Clip-Share does, this man hands down deserves it! Steve, you are the man! If I’m ever blessed enough to afford to get to Canada from the S/W UK, I’ll try (as a beginner) to do a stealth camp out there for you! All the best!!!
You truly are an inspiration for the rest of humanity, thank you for doing what you do Steve, you fill my days with joy and hope
Steve I don't know if you even stop to consider how many people love you dude. You keep life happy.. and give us reasons to smile. We will always be here for you guy.
