this transformation was WILD 🤩
real
hey fellow kids
Real YT team comment?
Yooo it’s the real Clip-Share!
Fr
Jesse is the man!! He’s a buddy of my mine and he started off as a valet at a Porsche dealer. He worked his way all the way up to the only P1 certified tech in Florida.
He seems like a nice humble dude!
@mr2loverboy he deserves a P1
Wow! Had come to comment about how he looks like a very knowledgeable but chill dude
Very sick versions of exclusive McLarens that I’ve never seen before🔥🔥
The fact that McLaren welcomed you and honored your crazy request is a big plus for them. I love them already 😊
It’s like you said, if this was Ferrari they would have laughed you out the shop. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
he is trying to repair a totaled car. every manufactured would just sell him a new car for less money. ofc they laughed xD
With the colour I would keep it what it is just now. That car has one hell of a story and should keep it the same way. Love this series so much. One of my favourite cars and seeing the engineering behind it all is great. Mad how in contact it is after what it was in. Cant wait to see it done.
He won’t do that he will be fully restoring it.
I agree with keeping it looking like the world famous car that it is. I dont care if he repaints it or adds new body parts but keep it Mclaren yellow
Who would buy a two million dollar banana in the first place?
@OMGWTFLOL Chocolate and shit are the same color. I still expect you to know the difference though.
As someone who crashed their 350z into a pond, and got it out, it took me 3 months to fully clean every inch of the car, and replace and fix everything I needed to in the interior, I seriously respect this guys commitment to restoring this P1. I was lucky because no water actually got into my engine, and now my car has made a full recovery, but just fixing the interior and everything underneath the car was a big project. water in cars really sucks
The fact that McLaren received you and let their master tech give informal advice to you is awesome. Keep it going Freddy! This project is nuts and amazing to see!
I was wondering how they'd feel about him doing all this himself, it's awesome to see a company like mclaren being so cool
Ferrari would be going mental and trying to sue people 😂😂
Yeah, the project is nuts. Not the guy that took it on ;)
@matdur2000 😅
Great advertising for the branch, simple
30 years from now, when this car rolls across a concours lawn a grey haired Freddy will exclaim "AND I"D DO IT AGAIN SONNY!" Legendary stuff my friend.
😂😂
ok
YEA NO
YOU CAN BUY ONE FOR LESS WIH NO HISTORY.
@Patrick Dali there isn't a single clean mclaren p1 going for less than 1.8 million
That dry ice cleaning is so satisfying. Keep up the awesome work!
I thought you were crazy for trying this, the deeper you get into it the crazier I think it is; but I'll be watching and hoping you can get done.
nice balloon
This is like getting salt water into your Rolex, only much more expensive. When he gets done it’ll probably cost a million bucks and it will have a salvage title.
He will get it fixed. Not to factory specs, but good enough.
Huge props to everyone involved. Taking a reclamation job like this and pouring your heart into bringing it back to life has to be one of the greatest experiences ever.
I have always wondered why exactly flood cars are considered a total loss. After watching the last 4 videos I understand perfectly now. Good luck gentlemen, I hope she drives again.
My guess is that the team at McLaren is rooting for this build to happen. This is some of the greatest advertising ever.
I don't see why they wouldn't. Like you said free advertising, plus show the company in a very good light with right to repair.
@Jd42 let's be honest, they're a supercar manufacturer. They don't really need advertising through channels like this one, but the fact that they treated Freedy well only proved that they're good guys
Let's be honest. Tavarish isn't just some guy promoting a car. 🤣
@TƦƖƓ⊕Ɲ yeah. Also most people that will buy these cars won't fix it themselves and just have the money.
@TƦƖƓ⊕Ɲ it's not like they need it, it's about this being free advertising, and dam good advertising
Tavarish is a legend. I was skeptical tbh despite how good he is a restos but now I’m all in!!!! You got this one in the bag lol 😊
Awesome that McLaren spent the time to look over your p1 and let you film etc. Its times like thst when you see that the company as a whole is truly about cars and the love of them rather than just profit margins and image. Jesse is the kinda guy you want working on your car, an 'its not so bad' attitude makes all the difference to what is possible
This project gives me incredible anxiety. It's just so insane and involved. Tavarish, you are a legend for tackling this.
I just know after this project is finished and has your personal special touches it will be an amazing car to see. In it’s current condition it’s amazing to look at and learn as we go with you. I enjoy watching each video as the car slowly gets closer to the next step and to being completed but I can’t wait until this car is done and you are taking your first drive with the biggest smile on your face. Keep going strong we are behind you and cheering you on from near and far. Cant wait til the next video. Have a good one!
+100 respect to the McLaren team! Couldn’t have done a better job at this
Once he fixes this car , this guy will make the history in the car community. I trust him all your efforts will pay off !
Throw ridiculous amounts of money at something almost anythings repairable
Any other car rebuild youtubers like Mat Armstrong would restore it successfully. But it's not like this guy and Samcrac have a great reputation in that field 😂
Rstarossas f40 build will be another epic one. Maybe one day we will get a F1 build...maybe
I think 🤔 he is just always looking up to ed trying to keep up with the Ed’s lmoa everyone looks up to Ed it’s hard not too😂
"will pay off" - what year will be writing?
That carbon tub damage looks structural. I'm excited to see how you fix that.
Just getting to this point is amazing! You should be proud T. You kept my car addiction alive, and am 1 week into enjoying my 75k mile 2000 MR spyder with a 5 speed manual. 23 years to get my dream car. Worth it.keep on keepin on.
Its great to see a man with the patience of a saint and the drive of Senna, working on a project of love. Here's to looking forward to your next video on this project!
It's absolutely amazing that your last nine videos have all broken a million views, it makes me incredibly happy to see! keep up the great work 😊
That is one of my 3 dream cars. I am so jealous you're getting to work on it. I don't envy the bill tho lol. Really enjoyed this series. P1s are just the baddest looking car around imo right there with an F40 and R33 GTR. Those are the 3 cars I'd daresay do absolutely anything for. Best of luck getting her back to factory specs or better.
McLaren P1 part 344 “Today, we are getting all of the sand out of Jack’ s buttcrack, he accidentally sat down in the passenger seat”
Wrong website my guy
Part 355. How to clean blood out of a parts washer
You have a amazing and positive team . You guys move in same direction
Congratulations
Crack watching.?....interesting
Only 340 more parts to go
This series has been awesome. I wanted to take on something like this with my son but things have prevented it. It is awesome to see you take this in and fight through all the issues that arise. Hopefully you can find a front wrecked mclaren and get some of the electronics and rear clip out of it to save some money.
This is brilliant been following this from the start. I really hope you go all the way with this but is is looking like it’s going to never ending. Good luck 🤞
Honestly I would go with a deep dark purple. I'm not really a purple fan but on the P1 I think it would look really good.
Love the idea of making custom parts for this build. If it was 100% like for like parts replacement you may as well buy a new car and where would the fun bud in that.
I'm very impressed with how well the local McLaren service center treated you. How well you all cleaned this car is seriously amazing.
They wouldn't treat the average Joe this way. Tavarish has a following which goes a long way with getting treated better.
I’m local to this dealership and all around the people are like this. Sales dude talked w us for an hour telling us things we didn’t know about some of the cars
You'd be shocked how friendly most truly high end dealers are. Far less snobby than your typical BMW or Audi dealer. I spoke to one of the salesmen at Ferrari in La Jolla for probably an hour. No airs or pretention and he knew his stuff, including history. I think they never quite know to whom they're speaking and also what that person will become and who they'll remember.
Been to McLaren Orlando and the team there were amazing at showing us stuff. Top Service!
To whomever is reading this - wishing you the best morning/night - remember, what we think, we become 🧠💰
This has to be one of the best car transformation videos on youtube. Super good content!!
pretty cool watching your adventures. feel like a friend, though i know you get that a lot.
Thanks for all the content, and the laughs.
Lots of respect for Mclaren for letting Freddy speak to one of your techs.
If any one can get this McLaren p1 back on the road and running hard it is going to be Tavares Mr. T I remember what you did with your white convertible lamborghini gallardo and I remember what you almost did to the Bugatti Veyron that the guide deliberately ran into the lakeHave at it buddy thanks for inviting us along for the journey👍
I'm impressed how they actually showed even a slither of interest. There are dealerships so snobby and up on their high horses they'll laugh at you right in your face. This technician seemed a bit more down to earth and simpler to talk to than even some basic car technicians I've met. Respect
Millions of people are going to watch these videos, and they'll be remembered for years to come. Being a douche would bite you in the ass.
The camera effect
Yeah i bet if he showed up by himself with no camera they'd prolly just laugh at his face and be told to leave lol
I think its also 'the Aussie effect'. He is 100% Aussie that tech and in general, we are reasonably friendly peeps.
I was impressed that the tech thought it was worth repairing, and that he humoured us all by providing a quote to repair it while knowing that it would never be repaired by McLaren.
They seem very willing to work with their customers to repair their cars if that's what the customer wants. Case in point, Rowan Atkinson's crash and fire damaged F1, the factory pulled out the original moulds and recreated carbon pieces that were out of production to get it back on the road.
Yes, it's a very special car, but they could have just said "no, it's a write-off, we haven't made those cars for years".
After hearing how overpriced the battery pack was ,nothing u said about the prices surprised me. I hope your like Matt Armstrong and will tell us how much u spent to get it back to new when your done. Great videos so far,and based on views ,I'm guessing, your most popular builds to date..
Wow Jesse such a nice guy you can tell thats a big shock seeing a Mclaren in this state.
Just discovered the channel. I can't wait to watch this build unfold. As for colour I liked that Volcano Orange you showed... or the teal. They were both great. Also as a Kiwi I loved the car in the Orlando showroom that paid homage to the New Zealand creator with his name and a little kiwi on the door.
You should get a nice red or orange finish on your P1, this would make it look like a Phoenix. I also think a nice red colour would be great too since it would make a contrast between the your other Mclaren and the P1, they’d look absolutely sick together, sorta like Mario and Sonic.
When your done, I’m pretty sure your going to know more about your P1 than the tech in your video, by the looks of everything. Got a vibe he didn’t know that car inside/out
Major props to the dealership for doing this. I don't know of too many that would take the time (and be willing to be on camera to boot). Now I'm anxiously awaiting to see how Freddie gets $750K in parts for pennies on the dollar (which he seems to be good at).
Ferrari definitely would not
I feel like he's listing a lot of things he may not necessarily need, like a front clam, both doors.... Given I can't see the car but that doesn't ALL look destroyed beyond salvation
Custom fabrication of the carbon parts can be done. Not cheap, but likely much less expensive than having an OEM do it.
Nothing like a side hustle such as being an exotic dancer at a club in the Vegas’s strip can’t fund
We all knew that it would be 1-1.2 mil in total. In essence, he can sort it and bring it back from the grave and it'll be worth about that he has spent on it. That said, yes, there are firms that will do factory spec panels and carbon fiber for less, as a part of that markup is converting pounds to dollars and shipping (versus firms in the U.S. that make similar hypercars and F1 machines). I'd honestly just maybe DO carbon fiber versus paint.
Yikes 😬 that's a lot of money! I can't wait to see how you fix it😄
can't wait for the next steps! Thanks guys
I subbed because of this video series. So satisfying to watch!
Love seeing this epic super car I want to see it drive again but I want to have you take the heads off and look inside the motor to see what your looking at with the motor much can be hidden that can't be seen and I want this 1 to last for years. Much respect from Oregon home of B is for Build.... 😃 😊
I haven’t seen all of the episodes yet but you could very likely get some “normal” mclaren brakes and have chemical/physical vapor deposition (whichever one works for that?) done on them to coat them in silicon carbide for so much less
Well done Mclaren, always nice to see a manufacturer support their customers.
Yea when you pay $90,000 for 1 door lmfao.
@CreamSoduh I think he was ironic xD
@CreamSoduhso how much do you expect a bespoked well built full carbon door with can properly withstand an impact and downforce + RND + limited car would cause? If you can make one or even a perfect copy of the door…youre channel will 10000% exploded
@爱 Lee Moo Eez about tree fiddy
To whomever is reading this - wishing you the best morning/night - remember, what we think, we become 🧠💰
I’m here for this rebuild every step of the way!
Best part of the show, 2 bros just chillin on top of a P1. Classic! 😎
Killing it brotha, best series yet. Bringing in the views too I see.
I reckon you can get the main body panels fixed or done for cheaper as for the main cockpit area, don't skimp on it! safety 1st guys! cant wait to see the engine tear down!
imagine like a F1GTR-esque rear. yk how it flairs up in the rear, that would look so cool
Freddie knew what he was doing going to the dealership.. They give you a parts list of everything you are going to need.. Smart move my man..
😂😂😂 smart af. Content + the info
@Easy Money hes gona need a new car dat one is trashed...
@veiga devil not really, people have restored much much worse
@Hacker What qualifies as a worse wreck than a wrecked hybrid hypercar? That sounds like a bold statement.
Amazing videos, you are truly dedicated to raising this car from the dead …
I think the p1 would look good in rare jade pearl! From dyc but use the flake in a more permanent option
Thank you for doing what you do. after watching 5 minutes of this, I learned that anything delicate and fragile is supposed to be treated with the greatest care. The McLaren P1 here unfortunately suffered a brutal beating. And now I think that even if you restore it back to "factory or even better" condition, it won't be the same at all. This awesome machine was crafted with surgical precision. Its not easy to recreate or even fix something like this without the proper tools.
This is such a complicated and interesting project. Once the project is done, it will look so cool. But the process of fixing is also very interesting.
Any of the solid colors shown in that showroom will work amazing. You did the metallic paint look already on the 675. The orange was fire!
After all the dry ice, it's starting to look like an actual project car instead of a rolling disaster. Nice work guys!
Far away from a home run but the hustle and grinding is awesome
Wow...very cool, McClaren. I can't believe they didn't tell you to pound sand!! So cool!!
So badly want to see the P1 to be Amethyst Black. A really deep purple would be menacing
Bro i wish like i really wish you can have that much money to build this p1 cause the way working out with this car is so amazing to watch and take risks with this enthusiasm. Bro hats off ❤
2 minutes in and the safety squints are out in full force under the goggles 😂
This guy is a legend the fact that he already made the car look this good is insane
They haven't even fixed anything yet have they?
@Cmac 613 no lmao, they've literally just done a teardown on the car, some dry ice cleaning to get rid of the sand and *maybe* cleaned up some corrosion. No idea what this guy is talking about - this car is in miserable shape and the camera most certainly doesn't do it justice.
@N Yeah this is never getting done, another delusional project that he won't ever finish.
Cleaning the space shuttle was easy too.,repairing one a different matter entirely
"already" lol 2 months to clean a car, so insane
You're crazy Tavarish, and I love it! 💛😄👍
The level of patience this must take inspires me to actually work on my car 😂
Id like to see the Mclaren price for parts shared with the cheaper cars. (Like the front subframe supposedly shared with the 12c). Just to see how scammy Mclaren is with their price gouging😂🤔 Im sure there's quite a bit of shared parts that you wouldnt expect. The engine block, possibly suspension parts, etc. And if need be, you could almost certainly use 720/765lt/senna parts in certain instances, like for the brakes (if you didnt mind 'just' having carbon ceramics) etc
Napier Green would look sick! I love P1's also in White.
Surely get the tech to come have a jam with you guys or at least a ride when it's done.
This is the best thing on Clip-Share. Big congrats to McLaren for getting involved and to Freddy for putting those parts prices in context. I wish you well - this is insane and amazing in equal measure!
Credit where credit is due to McLaren. I loved Freddie's comment about how Ferrari would probably sue him if he tried doing this to a LaFerrari. It's funny cuz it's true.
Yeah, all the best to Freddie, but he should bloody speed up this project, and frequency of new videos. Last one was 3 weeks ago and the car was basically in the same condition, all they have done to it since was remove the windshield and clean the interior a bit. And get a pointless repair quote they’re not going to use (yeah, they might use the parts list, but it’s still mostly just body parts, which they plan on repairing rather than replacing). They should have had the turbos and engine parts disassembled by this point, to get a better estimate on most important (and difficult to repair) mechanical parts. I know this is going to be a long project, but seriously, are they working on other cars on the side, or what’s taking so long? Every time a new video comes out I go back to check and make sure I haven’t missed any in between. I thought they were going to be really focused on this project, and post weekly videos with major progress updates, and a couple of lightly edited behind the scenes workshop videos on the second channel, for people interested to follow more in-depth. At this rate many people are going to lose interest and stop following the soap opera. It reminds me why I basically stopped watching this channel long time ago, and I was coming back with high hopes for an intense, interesting project. So far it’s been mostly just fiddling around and joking at how they have no clue what it’s even gonna take to repair this thing.
Sorry, I’m off my soapbox now. Just get the project rolling guys, best of luck.
The darkest red is one of my most favorite colors, Porsche had a similar one and it looked really, really pimp. Even more so if it had just a touch of purple in it.
No way they didn’t scratch the hell out of that fender with that windshield 😮
Good luck with the project.
also reckon the price it was sold for was somewhat heavy at 600k for a flooded P1, as it was a 1.1 mio USD car retail in 2015, and it will carry that floodhistory for the rest of its era.. sure hype & demand elevated the price for P1's but this is still a flooded car where your locked to repair it cheap as officially simply aint valid and that wil also hurt its inner value.
but we all love people going out on a limp, and pursuing dreams and happy to see this project going viral.
Insane is putting it lightly. You deserve all the pain and the rewards at the end.. Rooting for your success.
You should paint it black with red secondary color, my favorite combo. Best of luck on the rebuild 😊
Freddy and his team cannot get enough applaud for jumping into this project, but I have to say that McLaren deserves a major high five for them welcoming and helping you out. Even if it is just a little bit. I do believe there are plenty of up stuck brands out there who would just ignore you at best - Or even send you a cease and desist for even trying..
Totally agree. Just look at all the hoops Matt has had to go through to get parts for his GT3 from Porsche in the US.
Yeah they rhyme with "Bararri"
*cough*Ferrari*cough*
All they see is dollar bills for all the parts he is gonna have to buy, so why wouldn't they help😅
It's free publicity, there's no such thing as bad publicity, this actually remembers us how "good" and which public the brand is positioned/targeted to as well... so I think it's a win-win for both parties. Freddy gets his content, they get brand positioning.
Never been remotely interested in any of these ultra expensive cars but seeing this car is this condition and seeing that it truly has technology in its build makes me like it.
I have loved this series from the start
the main reason?
How many times will you ever see a P1 being taken apart like this?
No one would ever do this to their P1,and there is so many that exist..and the ones that get fixed go to the dealer to get fixed..
That is why I love this series on the P1 resurrection ! You are able to see the insides of the McLaren that are rarely ever exposed..and that is pretty freaking awesome!
I love how much carbon fiber is on the P1 model...like everything that could be made Carbon,is made with it..such attention to detail in every way with the design of this beautiful machine!
A friend of mine owns a P1. (He owns quite a few McLarens...) He had it bespoke specced by McLaren's "Special Operations" team. It's Blue with an orange trim. Although they probably have very special names for the very specific shades/tints.
Looks incredible.
He was also the first customer to get the Senna.
The Senna is a complete monster, but I still prefer the look of the road going P1.
Black is the best colour for a P1 for sure. It looks incredible in black.
I think the P1 in Tim's (Shmee) MSO Orion Purple would look insane! I reckon Tim would like it as well ;)
I'd love it to stay yellow. I thought it was such a striking colour, so fitting for a car like that. The yellow is fantastic, but it's your car so do what makes you happy!
Yea man the original yellow on this car is stunning
Another vote for yellow - it looks amazing ❤
It's known as THAT yellow P1. So I rekon its stays for provenance
I hope Freddy sees this as I also root for it to stay in its original color, which is Yellow. 👍
Yellow for sure. Something about those scoops in the hood with that yellow is so good
That purple looked amazing. I would that color for the p1.
How you are accomplishing this I truly have no idea, bravo bravo. Greetings from Melbourne, FL
the guy from mclaren seems like such a kind and smart guy. he should start his own channel!
P1 my dream car, so glad see someone bringing this car back to life
Hope you are having as much fun working on this car
83 likes and no replies imma fix that
as much fun as what Mr. Time Bucks? What are you trying to say
Yeah
👍
Nice
Thank you for rebuilding this piece of art. Without Clip-Share this wouldn’t be possible i guess. But this car after beeing rebuild will be on earth for 1000 years minimum i guess. At some point in a museum.. maybe even with your story and videos. Just imagine people watching this in 1000 years. This will be like a coach for us now.
You should keep it the body panels the same and only replace the parts you need. I think it would look really cool with like dents and scratches
I’m stoked to keep watching this series
You should put it on a restoration stand and flip it over and pull it over some bumps to shake out all the sand. That'll totally work
What a beautiful car!
Watching Freddy do this on a 2 million dollar flooded hypercar inspires me to change my spark plugs
you are not alone budy, I had to same thing happen to me when I watch Jamie Oliver...
I walked to the fridge and made a sandwich!!
On a sidenote: when I watched a video of Sasha Grey I didn't know what to do :/
Hilarious😂
ok
That Elite Volcano Orange looks great. That is the color I would choose and I love blue and red too but that orange just looks amazing.
Just good luck and get that beauty on the road! 💪
Can’t believe they let you talk to the McLaren guy on camera, brilliant!
Watching from Zim, I really wish our economy would allow enthusiasts like you to prevail.... you're an inspiration my guy!!!🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼
The appropriate way to remove the bonding from the windshield. The bottom is with a box cutter, razor blade inside of some sort is long stick that they make for that it would’ve been so much easier because right through the glue there’s always next time.
This is literally my favourite series on youtube right now. The sheer dedication driving this man is insane. I can't wait to finally see the episode where he sits down behind the wheel and lets the engine rip wild.
Oh! You don't know about Project Binky then! ;)
