April Fool's! Teacher + students pull off the ultimate prank.

- WARNING! A sense of humor is required for this video.
What happens when half the math class returns from a school trip? Well obviously, they get pranked by the remaining students and their teacher. What else could there be?
Remember that playing gags is an artform. It must be done with love in your heart. This scene taps into a universal fear we all share: the feeling of being completely and utterly lost, while EVERYONE around you totally understands.
Having said that, witnessing half the class slowly lose their marbles is straight-up HILARIOUS.
And, YAY MATH!

For people who are good at math, this is exactly how people who suck at math feel in class.
This is so true. This is how we feel for literally almost all maths and it's super bad for our self confidence because we don't want to feel like idiots. This prank was awesome, yet it hit home xD
Yea this was me in every class.
Wow... I feel y’alls pain now XDD
Hi, I'mBob Some of us try.... duh.
Hi, I'mBob Even if they practice, no one is good at everything. You can practice enough to solve a math problem or get a decent grade, but; like many people can’t dance, sing, act, rap, write, cook, be athletes and such; many people just can’t do math.
As a former math teacher, y’all don’t understand how hard it would be to make up bad math in the first place, but then try to sound confident while explaining it. That’s impressive.
I was thinking the same, and impressed 😂
💯 % what I was thinking. While I'm not a math enthusiast I can respect the ability this guy has not only to upkeep the math, but to make (and improvise) it wow! I wouldn't be surprised if there was actually something similar he was getting too he or anyone else may not know about. You know what they say innovation comes at the strangest times
I was thinking about that but more because complex math is totally beyond me. Generally makes no sense at all - made up or otherwise!
this is an art form
Nah! It's easier than you think. My AP Statistics teacher back in high school was a Pro. He and the class would do the same problem and every single person got a different answer and of course his was always the right one. Lol
Kudos for having a classroom vibe were nobody is scared of saying,
"I don't understand any of this. "
Yeah, the fact that they confidently would say that without ever feeling judged is the kind of classroom environment I wish everyone had. Or maybe they were top-students and just knew something was up lol.
@Beyondo they’re definitely top set students
@Harry Sanders you don't do this with stupid students, it's too close to every other lesson if you do.
Same, like I'm just nodding to whatever my teacher is saying and then research it later on the internet
@Beyondo To be honest, you can do this on most, if not all, classes nowadays. I always say when I don't understand publicly. I don't even mind explaining my wrong argument to see where I get it wrong. People just assume they'll be judged and won't even try while continuing to wish they won't be judged.
I can't say about high school, but for colleges, people don't care. In fact, they're happy someone else asks so they get review again when they don't dare asking themselves.
I probably would have started crying, especially if it was making perfect sense to half the class.
no honestly bc what is not getting through to me?!?!!😂😂
I know that this is supposed to be a prank, but this is borderline triggering..Brings me back to the ti.e when it seemed like everyone else around me seemed to be following. They're confused but engaged.I was confused but maybe did not know what question to ask to clear my confusion...or felt to dumb to ask when I saw other people following.
your not used to it?
I've never seen a class so invested in figuring out a problem. 😂 Props to the teacher for being able to engage these young minds.
This is what a keener math class looks like. They all are good at Math.
I know this is 4 years old but it is the best April Fools joke I have ever seen.
Hats off to you.
5 yrs lol
Agreed
5
😮
2 hours apart
5 yrs
How tf is this class so interactive with the lesson, our entire class would have consisted of 2 of the same people asking questions the whole time
my class is like everyone asking the same question over and over 😂
Same
i’m pretty sure that’s an ap class
Your spitting facts my man
Kudos to this teacher! His relationship with his students is exactly what fosters true learning! One can tell that there is MUTUAL respect and affection between them all.
How wonderful that they could strengthen this all important bond with the teacher in the heart of it!
Thank you Abigail, you totally get it.
I love how as the teacher goes through and starts to explain stuff, the kids that were in on it and the teacher himself actually started to connect a few dots and started to almost make sense of what they were talking about. There were a few spots where he kind of realized that he was stuck and he was contradicting himself, but there were also spots where he actually fooled himself into believing some of the things could almost make sense.
As a retired high school math teacher, I laughed through this “lesson.” The love between this teacher and his students is so obvious. The kids stuck to the lesson e wanting to learn and not give up, beautiful teaching moment that the kids will never forget. Bravo!❤
Absolute genius. The fact that the students play along so good makes this hilarious. If I were the teacher I wouldn't be able to hold my laugh.
That makes two of us.
As a math teacher, this is gold. When you get your students to rely on you so much that you can tell them anything and they'll try to understand it, even if it's obviously made up from moment to moment.
For people who are bad at math, every day feels like this.
Yeah why it must x and y wtf with the ² i fail math
Yeah thats me
My teacher tries to help and I just sit there while holding back tears...I think I have problems
True
benf101 I feel like this everyday
On a real note it’s mad respectable how well you can get your class to engage you must be a really great teacher and person
Absolutely love this teacher and his students. Great relationship, no fear from the students to admit it they didn’t get it, the enthusiasm to try to get they didn’t even see the what the end formula spelled out, the fun the teacher could afford to have with his class because learning happens in a relaxed and happy environment. Love it!
I love how focused they were on trying to figure it all out, that even when April fool was spelled out, they didn't notice it. Kudos to that teacher for creating such a good learning environment 😊
It's funny to think that if this prank was played to me, I would have just nodded along and daydreamed away like I usually did, lol.
Love this so much. The “in on it” kids are the best. If it was just the teacher it could have been received badly, but the kids “helping” is just so good.
"It's easy when you understand it." - Literally every math teacher ever.
Me: "just one problem. i c a n ' t understand it."
The water is warm once you get in
and thats facts.
period.
It's easy to understand once you understood it.
It’s easy when you find it easy :0
13:33 the moment of realization xD
I love the atmosphere of this class- teacher is awesome, students are awesome, and I can imagine that actual lessons are super engaging
This was literally me in 90% of my mathematics classes. And physics. The fact they took so long to read April Fools was incredible. So funny. And what a lovely man he is.
even if it's an april fools prank it's nice to see a math teacher actually "teaching" instead of just making the class do math problems on a website lmao
I like how the more questions they ask the more legit it seems because you make up the answers as you go on
What a brilliant teacher.
By bringing fun and humour into learning it makes it memorable, on top of which he encourages students to ask questions. He obviously loves teaching and you can see all his students will achieve much better results because he has time, energy and a wonderful persona...
I think my teachers have been playing this prank on me for the entire year...
Ha... underated
Right
🤣😂
I feel you matey xD
I think my teacher is a 5th dimensional with this ancient knowledge
This was fun to watch. And hearing how engaged the kids were - pure joy
so nice to see that they werent hesitant to ask him doubts and get them cleared.. clearly shows the relationship he has built with his students!
You know he's a good teacher because the students are not afraid to ask questions like this. Absolutely hillarious as well!
This is the fifth time I've watched this. How the teacher and class held it together is brilliant. Well done. Good harmless entertainment.
Kudos to you Mr. Teacher. I still remember my biology teacher getting annoyed with us because we couldn't understand something he found really simple. Your patience, outside of a joke and actually with the serious stuff, is astounding...!
I can imagine that one person taking notes the whole time until the end and just dies inside
The Creative World Of that’s literally me 😂
Shit when I wasn't paying attention the day before thinking wth is this
That would have been me. Although, I'm sure I would have been relieved at the end.
69th like
and then rips out the page
Love how much the students are invested into the lecture to find out about the inner workings of what theyre learning. In my class, the teacher brings a power point presentation and flips through the slide, occasionally you hear "Done?" And the majority of the work we gotta do is at home, alone
This is genius! He seems so chill, I genuinely wish more teachers were like him! He's teaching them while they're having fun, it's just amazing.
I love how even ur confused with your own maths and the students are just going with it. This made my day thank you
i wish i couldve had atleast one teacher like this man dude seems like he really cares about his students and their futures
I’d be uncontrollably sobbing bc this is me every day in math
My class would literally just pretend like we understand
Hi fiii
oh my god sameee lol
Sameee
Same
yup and the prank would end with the teacher scolding us all.
Honestly if it was my math class, I would nodded off and just slept through it. I appreciate how engaging these classes are.
Wish there could be more maths teachers like you. Well done.
Priceless. I wish I had teachers like him.
I SUCKED at math until I ended up with a great teacher...and suddenly I was killing it. Great teachers should make as much as doctors...seriously.
Imagine if one kid in that class actually knew what a sigma was.
He could use E simple .. for Expression ... boom... those things can be anything they wanted
4:36 - You can hear someone saying " Sigma means sum though "
What if they knew what ligma is
youtube is my life whAT iS LiGma
CJ LIGMA BALLS
I study engineering and it reminded me a lot of the typical question we ask teachers: "What the hell did you just write and why", "could you start over from the beginning?", "I don't understand anything you're writing", and so many... this is the day to day of a telecommunications engineer as in my case hahaha
I totally loved math in school and this was such fun to watch. In about grade 9 a student behind me was always asking me questions and one day the teacher thought I wasn't paying attention and called me to come complete the formula on the board. I was so shy but the class started chanting "do it" so I quietly went up, took the chalk, finished the formula etc., put the chalk back in his hand and sat. He never bothered me again about helping the student behind.
Awesome!
This is great! Complete attention to the teacher as well as the students! Patience was golden in this room on both sides, except for the wonderful occasional giggle! 😂😂😂
I have degrees in Math and Engineering and I didn't even know what was going on - LOL. The ending was awesome when the teacher spells out April Fool and is asking them to look at the formula. Prank well done.
Great teacher. Awesome connection with the students, and what a way to say life doesn't have to be so serious.
**knows it’s not a real lesson**
**still tries to understand it**
SAME I WAS WKDHQKJS
Juancho Núñez I was
I thought I was the only one!! 😂
I was
97 Subscribers With No Vids omg that was literally me
Great classroom climate! Hats off to you, Mr. Teacher. All the best to you. Cherish these days. They’re gone too soon.
That was soooo cool! What a fantastic teacher to put a little humor and fun into class!
If only more teachers, especially math teachers were more like this. It would make learning much more fun and enjoyable. Not just in high school, but in all the grade levels.
I love how comfortable they are with eachother this was amazing my teachers would’ve said it was too much time wasted or whatever I miss having classes like this I took 1 or 2 classes like this I’m tired of listening to videos to explain the problem the teacher can tell me and I wanna express my confusion.
I wish I had teachers in school like this. I would have studied a lot more.
Imagine if this man accidentally created a formula for quantum physics scientists have been looking for for years
It's the formula it self that we are looking many decades
O
Yeah right!? Imagine this actually is something! 😂
Forbidden formula
Imagine if that happened 😂
They’ll give this guy a award for best prank and the most intelligent
This actually makes more sense to me than actual math.😂
I love that he has "April Fool" written blatantly and it takes the class another minute and a half to get it, they have NO idea they're being pranked and aren't even looking for it.
It said "WARNING! The following scene requires a sense of humor" and I started laughing immediately
It’s to warn the gender studies class who can only rant narcissistic opinions at each other
@TayWoodethe fuck? Where did that come from?
@TayWoode fax😂W
@Lucas Ryan from experience. Probably had to take one as "GE"
This is exactly how pre-algebra felt to me 😂. I spent 2 years trying to absorb it & I just could NOT 😂.
This is great. I had a good math teacher too. Makes such a difference when the class is happy and having fun. Wish more teachers were like this!
Me: *knows that this is an April Fools joke*
Also me: *"wait i don't get it"*
lol same!
I also understood it for some reason....idk how i just thought lower it (-1,-1) and then the equation happened and it no longer made semse
@XxNelliexX sense*
I also tried very hard to make sense but got lost and tried harder to connect the dots... I think my brain died... I ended up just listening to their reactions and laughed all throughout hahahah
Meee
I come back to this video once a year it never fails to make me laugh
This is the very essence of humor, well done everyone
This was fantastic, and handled very well by everyone.
For those who don't have a sense of humor...
"Warning the following requires a sense of humor." LOL
This was a hilarious joke.
I love this teacher. XO
The students were trying to understand the math by asking questions. What a great bunch of students in his class.
It shows how much fun this teacher is, and when you have a good teacher, who takes time with their students, they will learn more than teachers who aren't engaged with students.
Being good at math, this had me crying laughing 😂 AMAZING
I feel like this is how math was actually created
Founder of math: "It's a way to prank our future generations"
Lol 😂
A bunch of teenagers laughing and a dude writing whatever they say on a whiteboard? Yeah i think you're right
Omg yes
Jesus saves!
I absolutely love this!! Everyone needs a teacher like this!!
I love how he goes "look at the formula" at 13:20 😂😂🤣
That was hilarious - had me crying my eyes out - best class prank I've seen, by far. 🙂
I honestly wish my school had been this much fun, wow, what an awesome teacher and the whole class is awesome too, brilliant.
Good to see a teacher with such a good relationship with his students that they can all have a laugh together
All students: "Why?"
Teacher: "It's the slopes"
Students: "Ah, okay"
3 seconds later in all of their minds
"Wait, what does that mean?"
Ikr
Notice how the slope was negative and yet 4/3 is positive lol
@Maxime Collet he was referring to the direction of the slope. i would know, i have a PHD in sigma stuff.
@funl "I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in sigma stuff, so you have nothing to tell me" lol
Celest pretty sure they were referring to the “rise/run” constant being a positive slope despite the ones drawn being negative
As a math geek, I’m having heart palpitations.
I enjoyed this so much 😊 I ❤ knowing he spent half of the previous lesson planning and giggling with his pupils he he he 😅 Ironically, this made as much sense as an actual lesson on true algebra 😂
I am sure this teacher can teach any subject and still keep the entire class involved.
I wish I had a teacher like this when I was in school. 👍
The world needs more teachers like you
I love how the teacher is "teaching" something completely useless but is still making it sound so legit 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
LOL. THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING. IM horrible at math. This sounded like it was a real problem to me. Lol
Thats his job thats the definition of being a teacher
I thought it was funny that he actually lied about it NOT being real. 🤣😇. I was a straight A Engineering student at UT (hook em!) and aced AP Calculus in high school. I guess he didn't wanna scare and scar them with unnecessarily showing them how much deeper the rabbit hole goes. He got a couple minor details wrong like the equation for rise over run, but the overall concept of "sum" or sigma in math is still the same. It's used to find the area within a graph curve or can be altered to find the volume of an oddly shaped object. It can be applied in fields such as statistics or probability for protecting the future outlook of a certain industry or product, in architecture, civil and mechanical engineering, rocket science, and the like... I almost had a panic attack from ptsd flashbacks when he wrote the letter "i". Just Google what are i's in math, I dare you.
Hint: i's in math are used to express/justify the 5th dimension in quantum physics and string theory.
@BruthaB as an AP Calculus student, no part of this made any sense.
XD i love that the half of the class that was on the field trip is trying so hard to actually understand it but everyone else is trying so hard not to laugh
This is a perfect example of an amazing teacher, hats off to you sir!
Hard to pull off the ridiculousness of it when all the kids are smart and super engaged. Well done!
Every student should have teachers like this ! Most of mine hadn't smiled since Nixon was in office, much less actually had a fun personality. Good video, GREAT teacher and class ! And for the record, "actual" algebra equations look like this to many of us !
It’s amazing how comfortable the students are with this teacher
Im convinced my teacher is pulling a prank on us every day
AhahahhahahaHha
😂😂😂😂😂
😂
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That is so awesome, we need more teachers like this in the world, Bravo Teach
Man this prank was unbelievable- It was the best kind of prank- no one got hurt, everyone's having fun and it's so funny at the end. That formula was brilliant. Kudos to you- this was legenday
I'm an Accountant and this is the most hilarious and mind-bending entertainment in a long time 😂😁👀
what was the journey to become an accountant like?
This teacher has the gift. I'm sure he should be paid a lot more for what he does for these kids.
At every class reunion, these kids will remember this teacher, and this particular class!
As an English/History person, I'm getting hives, just watching this. 🤣
That’s a great April fools, and I love how the class loves what the teacher is doing, so much fun! I wish all teachers were like that. Teachers are great.
Funniest part is when they actually thought they were making progress lol
Rich and robux skills😎😎😎
OMG lol I didn’t even notice it says April fools until later
Lol ikr
i feel so bad for them this would be so not funny to be the other group... unless that person would realize it and play in on it- if someone did find out what would the teachers reaction be
Back in high school 6 years ago i used to watch his videos trying to pass algebra. He helped me a lot and made me feel human while learning for school for a moment. Rare moment.
Good one. I always hated, despised mathematics.
I had no clue what was going on.
Then it turned out to be a prank. 😂
Smart kids.
Props to the confererate student. She really did a good jog bullshitting her way through it. This may have been my favorite April Fools prank ever... no one got hurt and tortured. The ones that figured it out were just as amused as the perps.
It's been 44 years since I did Algebra 2 and I sat here being so thankful that this is a prank because I was so lost. Having graduated over 40 years ago I can safely say I have not used algebra in all that time.
Looks like we're right about never using algebra
That's why I became a social worker, so I wouldn't have to use algebra! LOL
This is, clearly, a high level math class that the students were so engaged in trying to make sense of what seemed like nonsense- which is essentially what math seems to become once you graduate past Algebra 2 and into Calculus. Lol
I love how comfortable the student were with showing confusion and asking questions. It tells you a lot about the teacher. Tbh if it was my school everyone would just pretend to understand
yes teacher must be very good at his job for them to be that open about learning and calling out they have no clue what's going on
Barely anyone in my class would do that
My skl to
what kinda schools y’all going to
@Ria Patel American
This was fantastic lol. Well done with your class, sir.
it's a testament to the teacher that students who see stuff on the board that makes no sense try so hard to understand it by engaging with the teacher and the class instead of just instantly checking out like it would happen with a bad teacher.
That was great.. I had fun with this video.. to say I'm bad with numbers is an understatement but this video made me laugh at my self for all my insecurities.. I loved it.
