The Expendables is such a great franchise. Nobody is expecting anything Oscar worthy or groundbreaking. Just a bunch of likable, recognizable faces kicking ass and cracking jokes.

The great thing about the Expendable franchise is that it doesn't ever have to die. There's always going to be action stars past their prime to do these movies.

These old school type of action films hold a special place in my heart, cos there’ll be a time when they don’t exist anymore. Newer “action” films try to be too deep and poetic, the expendables franchise is just good ol’ ass-kicking and badassery, and that’s all it needs to be.
I honestly immensely love and enjoy them both. The White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen movies, for example. Both genres have a special, beautiful place in the Hollywood treasure chest. But yeah I wholeheartedly share this sentiment. There needs to be a balance, for sure.
Well, that's because all the people who watched old action movies are the same age as Stallone and Schwarzenegger. Today's action movie fans are tech savvy, poetic, and deep thinkers. So they need a little more than just shooting, fighting, and then the hero gets the girl and the end.

The Expendables franchise continues to redefine the meaning of 'action-packed'! It's amazing to see Sylvester Stallone still rocking it at 76, proving age is just a number. With the addition of Iko Uwais and Tony Jaa, this movie is going to set new standards for high-octane entertainment!

It is Jason’s altogether decent and likeable character that makes him such a hit! And it’s his fighting martial arts skills that make him special too!😊

The funny this is that I just rewatched expendables 1-3 like some months back and now finally there is a 4th coming out I’m so hyped cause I was waiting for this to happen for the longest and now it’s here so I can’t wait for it to come out so I can watch it. Love to see Stallone, statham and lundgren back again along with some new recruits. I miss crews, rourke and jet li in this movie.

@Keeden7 ye he is awesome to watch. I used to love Jackie Chan movies when i was a kid, unfortunately there has been no one like him in movies but i see Uko appear in a lot of movies recently and he is one of the best in hollywood rn in terms of fighting presence which is as fun to watch.
Iko Uwais is great, I hope he gets more roles honestly, and a third Raid movie to complete the trilogy :(
I hope they utilize his fighting talent well. He has been wasted in Hollywood projects in the past few years due to their shitty shaky cam and quick cut editing technique to the point that we can't see his fighting style clearly. Mile 22 which has Iko in it was terrible because of that
This is truly an amazing year for action movies. We've got John Wick 4, Mission: Impossible 7 (Part 1), Extraction 2, Guy Ritchie's The Covenant, Fast X, and now The Expend4bles. The title might be stupid, but this movie looks awesome!

That's simply not true. They're only good if they're utilized well, which they rarely are. And considering how badly shot/edited these movies usually are and who's directing this one, it's not looking good.
The Expendables is a amazing film .. plus the brutality of Iko Uwais and Tony Jaa .. it will definitely be super amazing ..

76 years. That is the age of Sylvester Stallone, 76 years, let that sink inn for a moment. To be actually making action movies at that age is one thing , doing it looking the way he does a whole another. To have that muscle mass & physique at that age is quite remarkable. We should all take a moment to truly appreciate Stallone's greatness and acknowledge that which made it all possible, HGH, you are the teams real MVP, thank you

The Expendables franchise is such a wonderful assembly of high-range action stars.
People forget how legendary Tony Jaa is as an acrobatic martial artist. Still, nothing drops my draw like half the scenes in Protector and Ong Bak. Seeing him run up a glass wall and perform Muy Thai on hundreds on gangsters still blows my mind. He's probably one of the most talented martial artists to date in cinema. Expendables is cool and all, but gun action and big explosions still don't measure up to good fight choreography and real stunts. Sucks Jackie Chan isnt' in on this, but he's still one of the all-time greats.
He was the 90s kid Jackie Chan growing up as teen watching him behind the scenes with no wires especially the rolled up barbwire during the chase was and will always be an incredible stunt.
Dude the one scene on protector when he goes into that restaurant he has to go up floor by floor in and it’s all done in one shot. Was one the best scenes I’ve ever seen.
This is the difference between hollywood vs classic hongkong films and some indie studios where Jaa and Uwais came from.. they build a strong foundation on the stunt team and knows each others capabilities.. the directors understood that a good choreograph film takes a lot of effort and time and not just done within a week.

When I saw Iko Uwais I got excited as hell. That guy is bad-freaking-ass! I am a huge fan of B-grade, independent, and especially foreign films. "The Raid" 1&2, and "The Night Comes for Us" & "HeadShot" were kickass movies. He would've given Jet Li, in his prime, a run for his money. His acting is extremely powerful, emotionally speaking, and his fighting style is just sick. He did a fight scene with another badass, Yayan Ruhian, that went on for about 12 mins in The Raid2, I believe it was, and it was crazy. This is going to be a great movie.
For those who were wondering, the reason why Terry crews is not in Expendables 4 is because the producer told him to drop the sexual assault case against Adam Venit and he refused and left the film.
Based Terry Crews and makes me even less exited about this movie.
