UPDATE: It seems if you join a random lobby (not using a code), the rewards are only given out one time if you fail. You should only be doing this with your friends, don't join random raids and lose on purpose because odds are you wont get the rewards anyway!
This explains why random Herba Mysticas were appearing in my bags! I kept thinking, "Wait... I don't remember getting one as a reward. Maybe I missed it..." Turns out I did get them, just off-screen. On another note, this is just sad that this is what it's come to in order to get the Pokemon you want. What a way to play the game by losing over and over on purpose because trying hard to win is less rewarding.
I was going to say, I did some tests and it worked once but not every time. Does anyone know exactly how to trigger it? Like once per going online, or once ever, or once per raid (the latter surely isn't true as I've only done rando raids so never joined a raid twice) But anyway, I'm not trying to fail but 6*s are genuinely super difficult so about 4/5ths of the time I fail and it would be nice to get some bonus stuff.
Hey Wolfe, small chance you’ll see this but if you do, I have a quick question. I’m making a competitive team, have studied the competition and am looking for a filler member. My choices are Ninetales or Froslass. They both hold synergy with my team but both under the right circumstances can hurt the team rather than help. Which do I go with? Ninetales or Froslass?
JSYK You don't need to lose to farm the same raid over and over again, if the host saves before the den (autosave off) and then resets once you beat the raid and are returned to the overworld, the den will still exist. This way you can also tell what rewards you are getting. With the right strats, you can one-shot most bosses (using perserrker or iron hands, for example), which I think is even faster than losing.
I just hope this doesn't cause randoms to throw in actual raid attempts... Bc like if you're hosting a raid looking for group you want to win to get rewards, but your helpers get rewards regardless so they could just throw and that would suck...
Tbf I've done this on accident. Seen someone's iron Hands right next to my Azumarill just thought it was might clicked ready up and was like fuuucckkk it doesn't let you back up and change if you misclick or are spamming A into oblivion because it takes ten years to load or to tell you "Unable to join"
@scathee sure, but people should say that in their videos then, because it would still cause randoms to throw the raid to try this out, sure they would only throw a couple of them before realising it doesn't work but it would still inconvenience a bunch of people.
Honestly this makes sense now. Last night I tried my first 6 star raid (by joining a random) and we got close but lost, and then I got a call from Jacq where the only response I could choose was "I won!" Thought that was really weird, but it would explain why that happened, the game thought I won. Thanks for clearing up that mystery!
I was thinking something similar when I had items I shouldn't have. I noticed the other day I have a fair bit more Herba Mystica than I should. Like, double the amount of HM. This makes a lot of sense.
@scathee it does work in randoms, i noticed it myself this morning. Used up all my exp candies, lost in a 5* random raid, still got a few exp candies from it.
Just found this channel and I am SO HAPPY to see the old Wolfey style videos!!!! This made my day. I understand that the main channel's editing is more popular, but it's hard for me to grasp so I am happy to just see this side of you and your content is being posted somewhere. Regardless of my opinions, keep killin it!🙌🏻
As much as I want terra shards to be more available, I really hope this gets patched. Anything that requires you to lose on purpose to get better rewards cannot be healthy for an online environment. Almost wish you didn't cover it cause you know randoms will starts joining your raids and throw them :/
Thanks for posting! Yeah would def only really recommend with friends. Want to mention a few things I never dm’ed. Suicide Moves just don’t work at all in raids they won’t let you use them so Recoil Moves and Frail mons are good. (You can attack your Allie’s in Raids! Why? Idk but you can!) You lose more time if your mons are a higher level, my guess is that there is a certain stat the time loss from dying is but never tested that. And if playing with friends this bypasses the limited amount of 6* raids you would have access to in a way since we only get one per day. Hopefully this optimizes Farming for Raid materials!
I remember my friends getting a bunch of XP candies from us failing 5 star raids when we first unlocked them. Meanwhile I wasn't getting any. Now it makes sense. Surprised this took so long for the community to figure out. Or maybe it was a well kept secret
Tons of people have independently discovered it but found that just winning the raids with fully juiced up mons is faster than trying to lose over and over again.
What happens if the host disconnects? If disconnecting stops everyone from getting rewards then that could be considered a good defense against randoms trying to steal from the host by throwing.
@Jack Staples yes it was the same rewards determined by the first raid. We were wondering why I (host) gif 1 ability patch but my friend got 15 (cuz we kept losing and retrying) it’s cuz of this. A friend who joined in much later got 4 because he only joined in the last 4 attempts
@Simon Teesdale Yeah, I don't need the raid mons themselves anymore, I have what I need. Basically been using the glitch to farm money for vitamins/caps, realistically I only need 2-3 Patches because the raid mons have their hidden abilities. Need more capsules than anything lol
So I think I accidentally benefited from this. I'm in a raid group using the perserrker strategy. And I would volunteer for the harder raids for that strategy (typically annihilape), so it would take 5 or 6 tries to win. Never would have guessed that beating my head against a wall would be worth it
I was unsure, but last night, I raided with my brother and a friend, we were failing 6 star raids, trying to find ability patches for perserker. After failing Corviknight a few times, we wanted to switch our strat, and needed to train new pokemon. I was looking at my mints and saw a few ability patches and was very confused; I thought it may have been a reward that I missed reading. It all makes sense now.
You can attack allies and a higher level Pokemon fainting makes the timer go down more, so joining with a level 100 is actually the quickest way to do this
Seems like a lot of issues with multiplayer. This same strat for picnics gives joined players the sandwich powers and doesn’t use up herbs if the host restarts the game without saving! Loving the exploits!
Part of me isn't happy with this because a lot of of people are going to randomly join raid with the intention to fail, anyway, I was already planning of raiding mainly solo.
Honestly soloing raids is easier than with teammates, at least if youre playing with random teammates. The main reason is that the timer doesnt decrease if cpu teammates die, so as long as you die no more than once or twice, you can really take your sweet time.
@Tractie I think AI is a bit better than in Sword and shield No more constant rock polish etc But there are times still struggle Once I try to clear a tera dragon kingambit with defiant ability AI kept sending intimidators Another time I tried to clear a Garganacl with of course purifying salt ability, my AI teammates kept on trying to burn or paralyze the garganacl for 4 consecutive turns
@Orez-Suke Yeah but even if you do Belly Drum strats, there is no guarentee you win 6 Star Raid, let alone 7 Star raid when your teammate AIs arrive with Umbreon, Driftloom and some other useless pokemon so you are forced to deal all of the dmg yourself which is almost impossible when your stats get reset every 5 turns so you have to belly drum again (without berry this time) and nobody else is healing you and also isn't attacking each time you are dead and waiting for you to respawn. Especially when you cannot use iron hands but only Azumarill due to the raid pokemon being ghost, psychic, bug, poison or fairy type. All I tried to say is that raids get muuuuuuuuch harder when you play with AIs because they can be very bad and that playing raids on your own might have some problems because of that I am fine, I've got some good pokemons specially trained for raids and I also have friends that I can raid with, so I am good. Thank you guys for all the help but I don't need any ^^'
@Tractie becuse of your "good luck with 3AI that barely does damage" So it looks like yoi dont know about the strat And on top of that its not a solo only strat Even people with friend can do thT
@Orez-Suke Yeah idk why everyone is giving me tips xD I also have a bellydrum azumarill, a battle ready Perrserker and a stell teratype dragonite Like I said before, I am good ^^'
The best thing to do would have a group of 4 friends, each of you find a 6 star and go round the group losing so you all get your rewards equally rather than one or two getting nothing. Please no one do this in online matchmade raids.
I am almost certain this is always the case cause i remember trying to join a bunch of 5/6 stars and ended up losing all of them cause I didnt know the movepools. I checked my backpack and had 7+ herba mysticas. I thought it was a bug where they didnt show up on the rewards page from my successful raids
I kept seeing XP candies being added to my inventory after losses, figured it was a 50% XP candy reward for consolation or something. Didn't realize I was potentially getting HM too.
This explains why I always had alot of XL candies and had 3 ability patches when I only saw 1 that I got from winning. That's insane but I feel like people will still try to win since you can still lose even when your trying really hard
Fyi using higher level mons seems to help the timer go down faster. Friends and I are using lvl 80-100 electrodes against dens with aggressive mons and we can finish it in 2 minures or so. Level 1s were taking on average about 6 minutes. Also, self destruct and explosion doesn't seem to work. It displays "But it failed" probably to avoid griefing.
I disagree with you saying that this is the fastest method for tera shards. I've done quite a few Raids with the Perrserker strat and killing the Boss on move 2 is a lot faster than getting yourself knocked out a few times. But i get that this is a phenomenal option for people who don't want to got through the hassle of building a Perrserker for the strat.
@tolaut it was also a raid with 2 NPCs. Only players fainting decrease the time remaining. It's definitely going to be close once you optimize losing. This requires no setup and no time shenanigans though, making it very appealing.
@NolChannel which takes about 2min if you are in the rhythm of doing it. Wofle waited 4 minutes in the raid while waiting to fail. This is definitely slower. But i get the appeal - getting the exact same items can be cool if you are only out for herba mystica.
And then you need to back out of the console, update the time, travel to a new node, and re-think how to beat the next 'mon. No, this is definitely faster.
I did this with friends, my explosion did not kill my pokemon. It just acted like a normal attack with the self-feint not taking effect. Could have been a bug. Secondly, not sure how I feel about this for the rando scene. This will encourage throwing if you don't host.
I expected a lot more from your announcement earlier honestly Grinding shards was fine so far, you can get any tera type you want by just oneshotting 4* 5* are a different beast, but frankly, being nicely prepared still manages this nicely, but I can see having 4 people do it like this could be faster - for 3 people. One person is going to get nothing. Another thing to note is, you throw away every raid mon - Though in most cases you probably dont need it, and only rare cases rly matter anyways. Overall, not worth it imo, without a full group its pretty much pointless, if I have two people who want to farm shards, i am better off clicking every 4-5* raid and defeat it instead (Plus forwarding time for next day raids)
i hope that generally people still try to beat raids with randoms in case someone's trying to actually catch the boss, but this is still a really interesting bug
Welp, knowing this information made me not want to host any 5 or 6 star raids to randos anymore unless I'm playing with a pre-formed group. Thanks for the heads up! 😝
That explains it! I was doing a bunch of 6 star raids the other day trying to get an ability patch. I failed the majority of them and the few I did win, I checked and didn’t get an ability patch. But somehow I got one in my bag. This 1000% works.
good for joining raids but really bad for the people hosting, i was trying to host raids yesterday and lost most of them, it kinds stings knowing i didnt get anything for it when the random strangers i hosted did
To further complain about this, you get 4 shards for losing a 6 star raid, you’d get the same number of shards by wining solo 4 star raids in one attack
I see this being a gigantic problem because I can't trust randos to go through the whole raid with information like this out there. Hopefully it doesn't effect it too much.
Glad to find out that all these raid battles that lag (not an internet issue on my part) so much for me that I can barely get two attacks in still end up giving me rewards apparently.
I feel so bad I have 5 star raids and I join some, but I try my best my Pokémon are about level 80 or higher and I try my best to use strong moves, but sometimes I feel so bad when everyone else is dying and they don't do enough damage.
depends on what you are looking for and what mon is in the den, some of them drop multiple herbs (blissey and dodonga come to mind) so reset failing and getting 4 different herbs each rotation is definitely the best way for herb gathering.
This happened to me last night while I was looking for an ability patch. I never got one in any of the raids I won and I was unaware I got it from a lost raid until I was going into my items to switch things around. I'm getting a kick out of realizing I was unaware that I had an ability patch, which I used to give my Skeledirge its hidden ability... unaware.
I’ve tried this in online random raids (didn’t throw we just lost naturally) and as far as I could tell I didn’t get any rewards for losing so it might only work through link code raids
There's a much better farm with Dittos. A Ditto always transforms into the host, so the host can bring a LVL 1 anything that any buddies (even the AI) will curb stomp easily. The host can then quit the game without saving after to redo the raid. So everyone except the host can infinitely redo the raid and get the rewards with no effort. My friend and I amassed 20+ ability capsules and patches this way, not to mention a bunch of tera Shards and exp candies whenever we found a Ditto with good rewards.
@RNGesus yep, but you can reset the clock to the next day to reset your 6 star raid for the day. A bit tedious for sure, but once you find a good one it's very fast to grind out.
This isn’t even the optimal way to farm high level raids though. Using an EV Trained iron hands or Gholdengo to buff your stats and then oneshotting the enemy boss is by far the best method. It’s even easier with 1-3 friends cause they can bring mons like Perrserker to taunt and debuff the boss with screech or metal sound, and then helping hand the DPS carry mon to ensure a guaranteed oneshot, skipping the shield and Terra phases altogether. This all occurs in 2-3 turns, whereas the method in this video takes 5-10 minutes and like 8-10 turns of just sitting around. Even when this strat is fully optimized, it won’t be as fast as the 2-3 turn one shot strat that 1-3 friends can easily do together.
This sounds right. I've only done a hand full of raids and then I looked in my inventory and found a random ability patch in my bags. I'm like wow when did I get this?! Something I'd clearly notice if I won. So maybe this is a real thing. Gasp !
I’ve been wondering why people go into raids with Pokémon and I’m just looking at their choice like “you gotta be trolling bring this to this raid we’re gonna lose” and now it makes sense…. But this felt like it took longer than just beating the Mon up… this makes sense for a bunch of people who don’t have Mons that can take on the raid but it sucks for people actually tryna beat the raid or catch the pokemon
This is going to be a really variable thing. The last thing I want if I am trying to catch a raid Pokemon is to have someone join with level 1 just to get the rewards. I guess the thing here is do it with people you know until we have bots hosting or something. I do wish they had just made changing the type free or like 5 shards or something
A friend of mine does set-up strats and OHKOs 5 and 6 star bosses as long as his partners don't trigger a damage cap. That results two turn kills with Belly drum pkmn or 4 turn kills with Swords Dance/ Nasty plot pkmn. (Have to be strong enough though)
Thank god I already have the dex complete, I got like half the version exclusives as well as trade evos from raid wins, couldn't imagine doing that now with people probably trowing intentionally to gain shards...
Can confirm, I'd be losing raids trying to hunt herba mysticas, I'd finally get two salties, look in my bag, and I'd see 4...I thought I was going mental.
As awesome as this exploit is... It's going to make hosting miserable. Bad enough it feels like some randoms barely have two braincells to rub together, but now more competent players are just going to want to take the dive for the easy items. I sincerely hope this is patched out.
Seems like the rewards are reduced for this, because I haven't gotten under 6 Tera shards from a 6 star raid yet and you only received 4. Maybe this is an intended feature to give partial rewards for any attempts?
This is fast, but probably not as fast as 5 or 6 star Ditto raids. Since Ditto always transforms into the host's mon, you could have them bring a Lvl 1 Sunkern or something and defeat the raid extremely quickly. Then the host can close the game before it auto-saves to prevent the raid from being removed and everyone else can go again. Obviously you can't rely on these raids spawning, but if they do they can be extremely lucrative for a group of friends.
Can you not turn off autosave for online? Also does the raid ditto copy hp/stats like normal or is it just turning into whatever a raid version of that pokemon would be
I hope they remove this and fix tera shards. This is definitely an oversight and it's not a good thing that people are incentivised to lose on purpose.
Oh....that would explain why i had an extra ability patch. This one time i was like "FINALLY ONE THAT I CAN CLONE FOR MONEY" And im sure i check all the rewards...then i notice i had 2 on the bag...and that was weird because if i had one from rewards previously i would have notice... Only thing that worries me is that people wont host 6 stars raids anymore because of this...
Hi Wolfey, a friend and I found this exploit earlier last week and played around with it. First and foremost, this ONLY worked when we directly connected with each other via Link Code. This did NOT work when we tried to lose random raids online with randoms. Secondly, self KO moves do not work, as we tested self destruct and explosion and both of them failed. Moves like Belly Drum or Filet Away that do a large % of your max health are the best for this.
I mean i can see why they did this but at the same time if your a random hosting a raid and the other ppl threw, its really fustrating for the random bc they dont get the rewards. If everyone got something for losing this not moght not be as big of a issue, but now you would have ppl in random raids throwing so they get thier rewards faster while the host suffers. I feel like it should.go one way or the other, either everyone get rewards for losing or noone get rewards for losing. Or maybe this is a bug and noone is supposed to get anything for losing, i have no idea.
I guess a good setup would be having someone with Discharge and 3 people with Lv1 flying types to get killed by Discharge to defeat 3 Pokemon at once. The Discharge user could then use Explosion or something similar to get defeated or be weak enough for the Raid Battle Pokemon to defeat it. At the very least you'll have 3 Pokemon be defeafed instantly, optimally the 4th one as well.
This low-key worries me that I'm gonna be trying to actually beat these raids, and randoms are gonna come in trying to throw the battle as fast as possible.
Don't think this works with public raids, just tried it with a couple public fairy raids and my shards stayed the same. From a lot of these comments it sounds like it just happens if you share a code with a friend
I want it be known. There's all ready people abusing this with Randoms. I just tried to do a 5-Star Ground Passimian with Randos. The guy brought Koriedon for seemingly no reason. Then did nothing for half the raid, maybe dragon clawing it, once, or cheering. But not attacking at all. Thanks. Hope this is patched eventually. Pro tip; Don't lock in, until you vibe check your randos. I had *another* person use this exploit on me. Water Dragapult, so he locked in Armarouge. I was thinking; "Maybe he'll use shadow ball or thunderbolt, or something." Spammed flamethrower.
that koraidon example may have been something else, as they wouldn't have a chance to die if they just did nothing lol. and also people bring the legendaries all the time despite not being effective
Wait, I thought everyone knew about getting the rewards when you lose? I've been mentioning it in comments sections for days lmao. Glad people are benefitting from it I guess, just hope it being common knowledge doesnt ruin too hard.
Its faster and more fun to just do some work, make some good raid mons, and beat the boss with your friends. Then the host can reset so everyone can farm it again
Okay so if this gives the participants besides the host rewards when you lose, and losing takes just as long as winning... why not just try winning? That way the host can get the rewards too, and if you lose oh well
UPDATE: It seems if you join a random lobby (not using a code), the rewards are only given out one time if you fail. You should only be doing this with your friends, don't join random raids and lose on purpose because odds are you wont get the rewards anyway!

Looks like they may have patched it. doing Charizard raids and doesn't seem to be giving me anything for the L

one time as in once per game load? per day? Forever?
ONLY DO THIS WITH YOUR FRIENDS, the random host you joined will NOT appreciate you throwing
Nah mate I'm throwing
@David Sandrock Where did I say that he said that?
@deathgrinn001He did not say anything about throwing random raids. He literally said to get a few of your friends and do it.
Randos are NPC's
I gonna do it with randoms alllllll day long
JSYK You don't need to lose to farm the same raid over and over again, if the host saves before the den (autosave off) and then resets once you beat the raid and are returned to the overworld, the den will still exist. Definitely is better, but the one hosting.the teraraid won't get the rewards 'cause after you beat the Pokémon should reset the game to restart it.
Yeah I mean if you’re good one shot is the way to go.
It works really well, found one with an ability patch I’ve been farming for a while
It's 100% faster to just 1 shot the raid mons lol and solo raids.
Definitely faster. Azu and Iron Hands solo any 5 stars and with screech support they clown 6s too
I just hope this doesn't cause randoms to throw in actual raid attempts... Bc like if you're hosting a raid looking for group you want to win to get rewards, but your helpers get rewards regardless so they could just throw and that would suck...

@Marshtomp8 fr, I saw someone use azumarill trainer for zard on a pokemon with grass moves
Throwing is literally all randoms are doing now.
theyre certainly doing it 🙄
@scathee sure, but people should say that in their videos then, because it would still cause randoms to throw the raid to try this out, sure they would only throw a couple of them before realising it doesn't work but it would still inconvenience a bunch of people.
This was fixed during patch 1.1

@Ript1de explains where my ability patches are coming from
I was thinking something similar when I had items I shouldn't have. I noticed the other day I have a fair bit more Herba Mystica than I should. Like, double the amount of HM. This makes a lot of sense.
This is really cool, but I hope people don’t start throwing raids with strangers. Some of us want the Pokémon just as much/more than the rewards.
I gonna throw raids
@scathee it does work in randoms, i noticed it myself this morning. Used up all my exp candies, lost in a 5* random raid, still got a few exp candies from it.
I certainly will
This does not work with randoms, only if you connect via link code
not to mention that the host doesnt get the rewards, so you dont get either
Just found this channel and I am SO HAPPY to see the old Wolfey style videos!!!! This made my day. I understand that the main channel's editing is more popular, but it's hard for me to grasp so I am happy to just see this side of you and your content is being posted somewhere. Regardless of my opinions, keep killin it!🙌🏻
Remember, with randos, its still faster to just kill the boss.
I am worried that no one will be willing to host random high star raids anymore
Felt like being forced to know someone to work with
@Guilty Hat I can’t imagine this won’t be patched out eventually.
@Dev I a relief but I am still gonna avoid hosting random raids for a while before people realize that
Doesn't work for randoms luckily
@劉京澤 You only get the rewards if you use a code to join a raid. Losing random raids doesn't give you rewards, so it shouldn't be a problem.
1 person being excluded for the sake of the other 3. Nah, people will still be doing the OHKO strat.
As much as I want terra shards to be more available, I really hope this gets patched. Anything that requires you to lose on purpose to get better rewards cannot be healthy for an online environment.
Almost wish you didn't cover it cause you know randoms will starts joining your raids and throw them :/
@Anne A. Lias ??? kek
@Anne A. Lias weird thing to say, nothing to do about censorship
@Anne A. Lias that makes 0 sense in this context
@Anne A. Lias what?
Ah you're one of those censorship types: hide the truth because people can't handle it, rather than share knowledge
Thanks for posting! Yeah would def only really recommend with friends. Want to mention a few things I never dm’ed.
Suicide Moves just don’t work at all in raids they won’t let you use them so Recoil Moves and Frail mons are good. (You can attack your Allie’s in Raids! Why? Idk but you can!)
You lose more time if your mons are a higher level, my guess is that there is a certain stat the time loss from dying is but never tested that.
And if playing with friends this bypasses the limited amount of 6* raids you would have access to in a way since we only get one per day. Hopefully this optimizes Farming for Raid materials!
I mean, you can also just advance a day on your switch and get more 6* raids that way as well.
u can attack ur allies in raids for some possible weaknesses policy, defiant, competitive strats etc.
I remember my friends getting a bunch of XP candies from us failing 5 star raids when we first unlocked them. Meanwhile I wasn't getting any. Now it makes sense. Surprised this took so long for the community to figure out. Or maybe it was a well kept secret
@scathee yeah the only real benefit of this is that you can grind one raid multiple times for its rewards.
@scathee I see
Tons of people have independently discovered it but found that just winning the raids with fully juiced up mons is faster than trying to lose over and over again.
What happens if the host disconnects? If disconnecting stops everyone from getting rewards then that could be considered a good defense against randoms trying to steal from the host by throwing.
I respect the commitment to the intro even in such an urgent wideo
Can confirm. My friends got like 15 ability patches from this and we split them lol
Did you get the same rewards each time?
I'm wondering if the rewards are determined when the raid spawns
I spent 8 hours yesterday farming for an Ability Patch without knowing I had one from a failed raid then, lovely lol
Mors Principium Est is sick btw. Liberation = termination fantastic album.
@Simon Teesdale Yeah, I don't need the raid mons themselves anymore, I have what I need. Basically been using the glitch to farm money for vitamins/caps, realistically I only need 2-3 Patches because the raid mons have their hidden abilities. Need more capsules than anything lol
Sweet. Are you using the duplication glitch to get more without grinding?
Well yeah obviously anyone who has ever failed a raid has accidentally benefited from this
You can attack allies and a higher level Pokemon fainting makes the timer go down more, so joining with a level 100 is actually the quickest way to do this
Seems like a lot of issues with multiplayer.
@Tractie I think AI is a bit better than in Sword and shield
No more constant rock polish etc
But there are times still struggle
Once I try to clear a tera dragon kingambit with defiant ability
AI kept sending intimidators
Another time I tried to clear a Garganacl with of course purifying salt ability, my AI teammates kept on trying to burn or paralyze the garganacl for 4 consecutive turns
All I tried to say is that raids get muuuuuuuuch harder when you play with AIs because they can be very bad and that playing raids on your own might have some problems because of that
I am fine, I've got some good pokemons specially trained for raids and I also have friends that I can raid with, so I am good. Thank you guys for all the help but I don't need any ^^'
@Tractie becuse of your "good luck with 3AI that barely does damage"
So it looks like yoi dont know about the strat
And on top of that its not a solo only strat
Even people with friend can do thT
@Orez-Suke Yeah idk why everyone is giving me tips xD I also have a bellydrum azumarill, a battle ready Perrserker and a stell teratype dragonite
Like I said before, I am good ^^'
I wish so badly that you could also get ability patches from 5 star raids. Even 1% would be so much better than slogging through 6 star raids
The best thing to do would have a group of 4 friends, each of you find a 6 star and go round the group losing so you all get your rewards equally rather than one or two getting nothing. Please no one do this in online matchmade raids.
People have already been doing this in online raids for several days. This isn't new information, but it's not exactly widely known yet either.
This method also works for Herbas Mysticas. The main raids that drop them are: Vaporeon, Blissey, Amoongus, Farigiraf, Dondozo and Cetitan.
I kept seeing XP candies being added to my inventory after losses, figured it was a 50% XP candy reward for consolation or something. Didn't realize I was potentially getting HM too.
Same, I wonder why I had so much HM in my bag, I was so sure I didn't win that many 😂
Can your "allies" also hit you instead of the raid mon to increase the speed of this?
yes they can
Apparently if your mons are higher the level it takes more off the timer when it faints. So it's faster to do this with lvl 100 mons
This explains why I always had alot of XL candies and had 3 ability patches when I only saw 1 that I got from winning. That's insane but I feel like people will still try to win since you can still lose even when your trying really hard
Higher level Pokemon take the timer down more by each level. So 4 level 100 killing e/o will make it go faster
So basically: never ever go for raids with randos because they will throw and leave you with nothing
So, no change compared to before lol.
Never did anything with randos even before this exploit
I've already had a random team of people throwing hard. I carried with salazzle because I really wanted that pokemon and eventually I got help.
I'm glad I can solo them all (except this one 6 star Ground type Gardevoir that messed me up, I could probs do it now though)
I knew that the guy who joined my raid with a special attacking Roaring Moon must have had something up their sleeve
I did this with friends, my explosion did not kill my pokemon. It just acted like a normal attack with the self-feint not taking effect. Could have been a bug. Secondly, not sure how I feel about this for the rando scene. This will encourage throwing if you don't host.
I expected a lot more from your announcement earlier honestly
Grinding shards was fine so far, you can get any tera type you want by just oneshotting 4*
5* are a different beast, but frankly, being nicely prepared still manages this nicely, but I can see having 4 people do it like this could be faster - for 3 people.
Thank you wolfey. Just saved me days of grinding for patches
Do this with friends only
i hope that generally people still try to beat raids with randoms in case someone's trying to actually catch the boss, but this is still a really interesting bug
I think winning quickly with optimized teams may still be faster
You only get to do the raid once if you win.
depends on what you are looking for and what mon is in the den, some of them drop multiple herbs (blissey and dodonga come to mind) so reset failing and getting 4 different herbs each rotation is definitely the best way for herb gathering.
Is 4 electrode going boom now the optimal strategy?
Scarfed Electrode max Speed is probably the most consistent. Some bosses will do status moves on turn 1.
I don't think suicide moves work in raids
I was wondering how I got an ability patch randomly, this explains it though. Thanks for the info.
This happened to me last night while I was looking for an ability patch. I never got one in any of the raids I won and I was unaware I got it from a lost raid until I was going into my items to switch things around.
I'm getting a kick out of realizing I was unaware that I had an ability patch, which I used to give my Skeledirge its hidden ability... unaware.
@Simon Teesdale Where were you last night when I used my only patch!? The grind begins again, and I blame you for it entirely!
There's an item dupe glitch, so you only need to grind for the first one.
7:44 also since the HP is boosted for the raid Pokémon a good idea is to use a mon with Brave Bird or other moves with high recoil
Congratulations you won a giveaway 👆👆👆👆👆👆
That will need a ditto though, which is a 1/50 roll (if evenly distributed),
This isn’t even the optimal way to farm high level raids though.
Wolfey in the morning makes my day
This sounds right. I've only done a hand full of raids and then I looked in my inventory and found a random ability patch in my bags. I'm like wow when did I get this?! Something I'd clearly notice if I won. So maybe this is a real thing. Gasp !
Stuff like this make me appreciate my dupe miraidon so much, if I need a specific terra type just dupe the shit out of him
I’ve been wondering why people go into raids with Pokémon and I’m just looking at their choice like “you gotta be trolling bring this to this raid we’re gonna lose” and now it makes sense…. But this felt like it took longer than just beating the Mon up… this makes sense for a bunch of people who don’t have Mons that can take on the raid but it sucks for people actually tryna beat the raid or catch the pokemon
This explains how I had like 6 spicy herba mystica even though I definitely never saw me getting that many
This is going to be a really variable thing. The last thing I want if I am trying to catch a raid Pokemon is to have someone join with level 1 just to get the rewards. I guess the thing here is do it with people you know until we have bots hosting or something.
I do wish they had just made changing the type free or like 5 shards or something
I'm almost certain that there'll be an easier way to farm shards in a DLC.
So when they say rewards, does that mean not just the tera shards? Will you be able to farm herba mysticas?
Can confirm, I'd be losing raids trying to hunt herba mysticas, I'd finally get two salties, look in my bag, and I'd see 4...I thought I was going mental.
As awesome as this exploit is... It's going to make hosting miserable. Bad enough it feels like some randoms barely have two braincells to rub together, but now more competent players are just going to want to take the dive for the easy items. I sincerely hope this is patched out.
Do you only get shards from it or do you get other items as well?
Does it only give you the shards? Or all the items you would have won?
Seems like the rewards are reduced for this, because I haven't gotten under 6 Tera shards from a 6 star raid yet and you only received 4. Maybe this is an intended feature to give partial rewards for any attempts?
The downside of this strategy is that if you run into a shiny during this you just can’t catch it
This is fast, but probably not as fast as 5 or 6 star Ditto raids.
@Anthony Nguyeni once lost 2 hr of raid stuffs thanks to a crash, so i think the game didnt autosave after every raid
@Anthony Nguyen Can't say it copies the health for sure but I've never seen a 5 or 6 star ditto survive a hit.
This one time i was like "FINALLY ONE THAT I CAN CLONE FOR MONEY"
And im sure i check all the rewards...then i notice i had 2 on the bag...and that was weird because if i had one from rewards previously i would have notice...
Only thing that worries me is that people wont host 6 stars raids anymore because of this...
I mean i wont why risk it.
This is really cool, but I hope people don’t start throwing raids with strangers. Some of us want the Pokémon just as much/more than the rewards.
This makes the grind less excruciating. Good looks!
I wish they made it so you got shards just from visiting the raids.
That first part is a relief or otherwise online randoms battles would be ruined by everyone throwing
More time comes off the timer when you die the higher level your pokemon is so if you bring a lvl100 and explode it goes much more quickly.
Spread moves don’t hit allies in Tera raids
I’ve been using Discharge in Raids and it hasn’t hit anyone else, maybe I’m missing something but it hasn’t been a thing so far
Level 1 pokemon dont bring down the timer very much compared to level 100
Why don't you just skip discharge and just explode? Explosion also does damage to allies
Magnezone is the first Pokemon that comes to mind, I'm not sure if Magnemite gets discharge by level up or egg move but Magnemite could be better
Fastest way to optimize this would be to have a fast electrode use explosion for every player
Time to go through the game on my wife’s switch and get some nice raids for my game
You don't seem to get the bonus from meals if you do it this way, but it's very hard to confirm.
Now I’m worried people will purposely throw when I’m trying to win and catch the Pokémon :/
This low-key worries me that I'm gonna be trying to actually beat these raids, and randoms are gonna come in trying to throw the battle as fast as possible.
This sounds especially nice with memento, explosion, etc, especially since you can alternative who's hosting so everyone can get shards
self kill moves do not work in raids
When this gets optimized, please make a video on how to do it
Does it give all rewards including candies, EV boosters, and valuables?
I am pretty sure this is how I got my first Ability Patch.
Im I the only one that is having HUGE problems with the servers during online raids?
Don't think this works with public raids, just tried it with a couple public fairy raids and my shards stayed the same. From a lot of these comments it sounds like it just happens if you share a code with a friend
I've been wondering why I sometimes have an additional Ability Patch when I don't remember seeing it drop.
Pro tip;
Don't lock in, until you vibe check your randos.
Es mas rápido ganar que perder, en las de 6 estrellas ya todos son poderosos y se ganan en segundos.
And here I thought I found something interesting when a tera raid pokemon used 6-8 different moves on me earlier.
Its faster and more fun to just do some work, make some good raid mons, and beat the boss with your friends. Then the host can reset so everyone can farm it again
A full squad with level 6 pineco spamming self-destruct would likely be faster
Okay so if this gives the participants besides the host rewards when you lose, and losing takes just as long as winning...
why not just try winning? That way the host can get the rewards too, and if you lose oh well
feel like there should be at least a disclaimer about not doing this on public raids
I can feel all of the shinies coming
This is great and hopefully doesn't get patched but, if ya'll need more shards you can just duplicate them. Much faster than this.
FYI, just from some of my own testing this seems to have been patched out after the ver 1.1.0 update!!
