I thought it was already a given that Riot would see Sett in the roster, I'd be REALLY surprised if he hasn't already been in development just not shown in teaser.
I've never been a huge fighting game guy but man Project L looks like it's full of style. Very curious to see what the final roster will look like, so far there aren't really any champs here that I have much interest in or actually play in League
Thanks for watching , Congratulations 🎉you have been selected as one of my shortlisted winners, send a direct message to the above username on telegram to claim your package.
The actual FGC shoutout sold me on this game. these games usually have at best handwaved scenes and at worst active roadblocks from developers. I'm so excited to have a compamy so open about wanting to work with a community, especially when they aren't even talking about they're game just a shout out to all of them.
@Dinkleberg hardest to master and hardest to stick with are two different things. Teams allow you to shift blame, and that provides an emotional buffer, but it also creates a barrier to valuable feedback. That's how you get people no-lifing games like league of legends for a decade and still being absolutely shit and convinced it's their team's fault they lose lol. You cant improve if you don't realize what you're doing wrong. In fighting games, there's no way lie to yourself. You know if you're shit and you either give up or get better, but either way, you can see the information clearly. *Edit* I should add that this is what I love about fighting games. But it's also bad for business haha.
@bonzwah1 we are both seeing the same future and it's scary, I've seen how esports gets handled, and like I've always said in the FGC community you need a big brain, a big heart, and even bigger balls to step in the ring with most of these guys. I'm really worried about them new players because in fighting games you don't have a team to blame for your fuck ups it's all on you and your skill and your brain which is why fighting games at least to me have always been looked at as the hardest genre of game to master
Omgoodness, those Ekko movements at 2:13 is so jaw-dropping! It must feel super satisfying to dodge all your opponent’s attacks like that in real time during a match.
This looks amazing! We host weeklies and monthlies for fighting games at our store in Waltham, Massachusetts we can't wait to add Project L to our events. We will be at Mohegan Sun Casino in CT in March for CT Gamercon as well!
Keep it up, this looks amazing! Just take the quick swap mechanic out where you can tag with the assist. Sandwiches were absolute cancer in BBTag when they had that mechanic and I could see it frustrating the shit out of everyone but the most kusoge enjoyers.
one of my favorite things about FTP for a fighting game is that it potentially allows far more people to pick up more then one game in the genre and enjoy due to the ease of accessibility, Project L will be a net positive for the genre as a whole
I just realized at 5:09 ahri called ekko for a assist did a cross up overhead into tagging back to ekko all in the same sequence, everybody is about to get mixed in this game. The potential is mind blowing.
About motion inputs, if you pay attention at the moment ahri uses her super she actually does a "2-2" motion. But darius dont seem to do any kind of motion to use his super. So we can assume that there WILL be some simple motion inputs but nothing as crazy as a two quarter circle, because we need to remember that this game is also made with KEYBOARD in mind and doing DIAGONALS em keyboard feels TERRIBLE I had to remap my whole keyboard layout to find an actually comfortable way to do motions and to be honest, diagonals still suck. ( if yall wanna know what i did, i duplicated the movement buttons to other keys, so whenever i need to do a diagonal, i go for the alternative key for the down or the right input, which ever is the most comfortable at the moment)
@Booty Chief most of the problem is balancing things, 360° inputs generally need you to setup it somehow, like jumping or mid-dash or buffering it doing another action, these are generally powerful skills, so you need to balance with their execution and viability, since you can't do a 360 out of where, if you did it, it would be very stronger and would change the entire gameplan of the character using it, since usually grapplers would have it for example, and thus enable their mixup after jump-in, if they will make the grab or an attack, same for pressure-reset. There is also charge inputs needing to walking backwards or crouched, that are defensive or zoning options, if you were able to do it while walking towards your opponent, it would change the entire gameplan of the character and no doubt it would make they stronger since they can now do the action in the offensive, though you already could do it, but with buffers, like the 360° case. And there is also the problem with crossups, if you are inputting a dp and your opponent crosses your head while you are perfoming it, you wouldn't get your dp, making a dp in 623 motion weaker than one in a 22 option were you don't need to care which direction your opponent is, and there is also the problem that the controllers don't have too much buttons enough for the skills, can't really imagine tekken with a button for each 178 skill per character, needing the game to be more simple and with less skills
@rickjamesia Then you played good despite character flaws, not because he was great. One button cmd grabs almost always are trash, otherwise they wouldn't be balanced and it's not satisfying to hit them
@Egrassa 1 I mained Talos, the character you are talking about. He was pretty great. Had some trouble against Chel and Crow, but it wasn’t that bad. I stayed pretty high rank the whole alpha.
For those new to fighting games and wanna have a taste of a team-based fighting game, I recommend checking Blazblue Cross Tag Battle out. It is also a 2v2 tag-based fighting game with features just like assist actions, handshake tag, and dynamic save. (of course, BBTAG also have more features for offensive and defensive purpose)
It’d be cool in the future if they add a 5v5 feature with the tag system. And one of the maps that come with that update is summoners rift mid lane lol(mid towers will be at the end of map on each side). Imagine seeing that at esports where one player is remaining and he clutches and beats the other five. Make it happen Riot! It’ll also be fun playing with friends that way.
looks like the game is still a long way out, but the gameplay looks great already! hope there'll be a playable alpha/beta sometime next year, would be amazing!
It's been on Development since 10 year anniversary which was almost 3 years ago. It's pretty getting to the finishing phase. At best, we'll get it by the late 2023.
@Korinengamecorp true, on the bright side tho, they already know and have a clear path on what kind of Fighting game they're going to make, a big game update to the game would probably be next year december again, and I hope in 2024 during they're anniversary they would start rolling out some beta testing, figners crossed
I’m sure the time developing is spent wisely considering how it’s looking but it feels like this game has been teased for so long now and it’s still not even close to complete 😅
Hello Riot, I understand that we're going to see a ton of tight combos in the game, but I think it would be great if there was at least one character with a single mechanically challenging input. A sort of ambassador of legacy fighters. Hitting difficult moves like the Mishima's EWGF in Tekken can be incredibly satisfying, and in a very special way that's just different from hitting difficult combos. I believe that that's an important niche you should fill in some way. Tbh I wouldn't know how to blend that with the rest of the roster, but there should be a way, right?
simply amazing of Tom Cannon in encouraging players to play more fighting games and encouraging veterans to teach newcomers. I'm very happy with how well polished and beautiful the game is turning out, in addition to looking like a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to being able to test it! (I know it won't happen, but it would be interesting if we got a mobile version of the game, but we probably won't. I'm still looking forward to it)
The game art looks amazing. Gameplay wise im split if i like the tag team idea, if the game is developed for veteran players, movement team tag, sandwich mix ups and leaving hands of controller once the combo starts. All those mechanics may create hype but will scare off new players who want to join a fighting game. The community it self is in need of new players playing the game, and less to appeal to a small competitive scene. I prefer the 1v1 idea, but it is what it is.
I really want an offline or online game mode where you can sit on a couch with someone and each play 1 character on the same side. Co-op ladders and the like. MK9 had it and I haven't really seen it since. My sisters don't like fighting against me so it would be nice to fight in tandem rather than always just battling one another.

Game looks better and better each time they show it, I am really excited about it. Hopefully they include great tutorials to really introduce beginners to fighting games genre, good matchmaking is also the key to make sure people won't get matched with noobstompers right away and get discouraged.
@GangsterM16 That’s all I can compare to when it comes to fighting games. the art is really bad, it's false 2d with low budget 3d models, we've seen this in very bad quality games before, it's false 2d animation, they should have done it like streets of rage art style

@david corodeanu If you hate it then it's your opinion, that's fine. Just don't be so pressed about it lol, like why are you even insulting all players calling them trash?
So cool, I've been looking forward to the game since it was first announced on the 10 year anniversary. But why are Jinx's tattoos on the other side only in this (0:51) moment? I hope it's not the lazy technique of mirroring sprites.
what a amazing company riot games is they are dominating the fps (Valorant) genre, MOBA (League of Legends), Auto-chess (Teamfight Tactics), mobile MOBA (wild rift), a lot of the TCG scene (Legends if Runterra). Soon to come I assume is assist-based fighting genre (project L) and the MMO scene.
I'm not so hype for fighting game with assists mostly there will be 2 or 3 duo who's could do infinite with proper training the combo breaker is a good thing just I hope every character will have access to a "combo breaker" safe option. I hope warwick and mordekaiser will be added to the game
The art style and combat animations look sick! Also i love that 2 champions can interact with each other's abilities. It looks really fun. Cant wait to play the heck out of it lol
Ah watching this reminded me of old days of Tag tournament and 2 me and the boys used to set and play til dusk even argued with each other and can’t wait to play this hope roster is gonna be great
Project L Street Fighter 6 Tekken 8 the future of fighting games haven't looked so good in who knows how long really. Glad to see so many more big FG devs being so open and positive with their community
This already looks insane!!! - The systems are so hype, animations keyframes and artstyle already look top notch and it looks really fun to play and to watch. Cannot wait!
It looks a tad floaty and maybe lacking some visual flair, but the movement and assist options are very promising for creativity and the skill ceiling. I wanna see Sett and Yasuo in this game so bad.
This looks so well done so far. I'm just scratching my head - why they aren't making a platform fighter? Will someone please explain that to me? A PF seems like the obvious translation from LoL, more likely to nail that "easy to pick up, hard to master" curve.
2:48 PushBlocking (or something like it) does seem to be in the game, as the characters seem to have a blue outline when they block & the attacker is pushed back more noticeably.
@Dezha Vhu No, just defend is when you block on the exact frame and you get advantage. Pushblocking can be done at any time and pushes the opponent away.
Game is looking sick! I'm not fan of tag game fighting games, but maybe this one will be very good ans i'll love it. But by the way it's looking right now, i don't think we'll get the game as soon as i thought
Guys, Sett needs to be in this game. The game can't be complete without Sett. The boss of the underground fighting scene.
As much as Sett love for his mother makes me uncomfortable it just makes too much sense having him in Project L
Oh thank god more men of culture. Sett NEEDS to be in project L.
I thought it was already a given that Riot would see Sett in the roster, I'd be REALLY surprised if he hasn't already been in development just not shown in teaser.
Sett is like Iori in KOF and DIO in JoJo
I want to see if they can put fiddle and jhin into this game
I've never been a huge fighting game guy but man Project L looks like it's full of style. Very curious to see what the final roster will look like, so far there aren't really any champs here that I have much interest in or actually play in League
a game with characters you recognize tends to make you think better of it
One of us! One of us!
Even though I'm not the biggest lover of tag games, you guys are doing a great job. Thanks for the update and good luck!!!
Thanks for watching , Congratulations 🎉you have been selected as one of my shortlisted winners, send a direct message to the above username on telegram to claim your package.
you gonna be an ahri main LK?
Honestly my favorite part about this is seeing people I know from locals working on it

@bonzwah1 If Riot brings in financial stability/viability for professional players, then I can only see them cementing their presence in the scene.
@bonzwah1 we are both seeing the same future and it's scary, I've seen how esports gets handled, and like I've always said in the FGC community you need a big brain, a big heart, and even bigger balls to step in the ring with most of these guys. looks like the game is still a long way out, but the gameplay looks great already!
hope there'll be a playable alpha/beta sometime next year, would be amazing!
2024 looks like a safe year to release this game
It's been on Development since 10 year anniversary which was almost 3 years ago. It's pretty getting to the finishing phase. At best, we'll get it by the late 2023.
Honestly that could be for the best. I don't want it to releasae next to SF6.

This looks SO clean what an exciting project
I love that in Riot anyone can do the talking in these update videos.
ive played league almost every day since 09 so I'm extremely hyped for anything Riot comes out with.

something like a Skullgirls game would be fucking awesome
@david corodeanu League of Legends just got their highest budget for 2023
"Low paid" HOW do you know that? Why spreading misinformation
The game art looks amazing. This game looks very much a fighter. I really want to see how it'll look when it's finally done.
How long have they been working on this I’m surprised I’m now hearing about it looks really fun🔥
I really want an offline or online game mode where you can sit on a couch with someone and each play 1 character on the same side. Co-op ladders and the like. MK9 had it and I haven't really seen it since. My sisters don't like fighting against me so it would be nice to fight in tandem rather than always just battling one another.
thank you for telling people to go out and support local tournaments. Now more than ever is it important that we can
unlike nintendo
I hope you guys eventually make this a 3v3 tag game!! Or atleast have that option in a game mode. That’ll definitely open more doors for creative combos and mixups. As well as team synergy!!
Thanks for watching , Congratulations 🎉🎉you have been selected as one of my shortlisted winners, send a direct message to the above username on telegram to claim your package.
Im dying to know how kos work.
Will it be a "floating in the air deal with my mix" style like MvC?
Will it be a "back to neutral" style like DBFZ?
Will it be an "off the top ropes" drop in style like BBTag?
Will it have a Snap-back mechanic?
Theres still so much to know.
Every time they give us a sneak peak I am just amazed that it's gona be free to play
This video just opened the floodgates for insane tag combos. I can't wait!
If you want more games that aren’t in that genre HoI, Crusader Kings, Devil May Cry series, Dota 2 (granted this one’s debatable by sheer length alone). Those are just the ones off the top of my head that do it well.
If anything not enough games have good in-depth tutorials. Most people don’t use most tutorials, because most tutorials are shit and only cover what someone could figure out in 5 mins of actually playing.
There’s a bunch of games I can think of that need good tutorials but don’t have them and their players suffer because they don’t have them.
@TheBossManBoss319 I said count how many
You say one
I think that answer the question
@GangsterM16 MY BROTHER IN CHRIST I HAVE BEEN REPEATING ONE THAT WORKS AND IS GOOD!
@TheBossManBoss319 Count how many complex games that would benefit from a tutorial for their new players, in fact, have one (that isn't a dogshit attempt)
right, pratically none
@GangsterM16 go on. Show me the data.
Yoooo the art in this game is GORGEOUS. I'm not even a fighting game type of person and I def wanna give this a shot, it looks hella hype.
I'm wondering what this game will have in terms of single player content.
its a f2p game so im not expecting a huge campaign but i hope there are a couple modes to enjoy
I recently got to fighting games I'm having fun with my friends and I really can't wait for this
I'd love for you guys to include Taliyah, i bet you guys can make her shine as much as all the champions that have already been included! good job!
wow!!! this is really planned well,,, I am really excited to get my hand on it
I am so excited on this project that you are working on. I love fighting games
INVESTED! Cannot wait to see more footage for this game!
Por favor, deben incluir una modalidad 2 vs 2, si pudiera ser de hasta 6 jugadores seria interesante. Y obviamente que sea online.
The visual style is stunning!
Definitely has that Riot Handprint on it while still being it's own twist on the known characters.
It looks stunning at this stage already! Can't wait to get my hands on it
and they are not even done with it yet. Just think of how flushed out it will be in the next 2 years.
love the ost at minute 4 of the video, please make it playable when the game launches, sounds so sick
Ekko in LoL was one of my favorite characters based on playstyle, lore, and design, so seeing him in this game is sick. When I play this game, he will be my main for suuuure

@Mehdi Silini the biggest lie I have ever seen kiddo
@DemonDecidueye hehhhh? What? Big muscular mommy is nice but illaoi cringe as heck. I have a lot of design of muscular women that is infinitely better than illaoi
@Mehdi Silini lame design to you 12 year olds. But illaoi boring and giga cringe. That's a fact
@Nadare Kokusaiha those are super basic similarities. It's like telling people that all fighting game character who have a jab, a kick and a reversal super are basicly the same.
They play nothing alike...
@Bence Gergő Hocz ??? that's still a ton of similarities. And you are literally bringing up champions to argue 1 point
the art team is doing such an incredible job
@Sai i do. u really talkin big without artsistic knowledge
@Yoshi Dam No one cares if I can do better or not, I'm not RIOT director then ur comment loses sense and it's irrelevant :v
@Sai talking lotta big thinkin u can do better
the art is really bad, it's false 2d with low budget 3d models, we've seen this in very bad quality games before, it's false 2d animation, they should have done it like streets of rage art style

Please add Zed, he would perfectly suit this fighting as classical ninja character
Thank you for adding a combo breaker. Really don't want infinites or ToDs
Damn, the dynamic save mechanic would be epic if played together with a friend
Looks sick! Can't wait for Max's reaction of this!
My thoughts exactly. Gotta catch his stream.
I hope there’s still an option for 1v1 duels. I just don’t like the tag system in fighting games.
So looking forward to this. All the fun of the characters and lore of LoL without having to be flamed by "teammates".

I would be really careful with anti-brakeaways... if theyre too strong on launch they could make players new to the genre dislike the game very quick
looks great cant wait to play it!!
Bro that moment of ekko hitting the jinx grenade sold me I am loving the creativity here so dam much!!
Thanks for watching , Congratulations 🎉you have been selected as one of my shortlisted winners, send a direct message to the above username on telegram to claim your package.
@Andynd27 nah it's fine, i get what you are saying
@david corodeanu keep crying
@david corodeanu If you hate it then it's your opinion, that's fine. Just don't be so pressed about it lol, like why are you even insulting all players calling them trash?
@allan sherin I'm sorry
It seems that bootcamp you guys done with Arc System Works really paid off, I'm excited for this!
So cool, I've been looking forward to the game since it was first announced on the 10 year anniversary.
But why are Jinx's tattoos on the other side only in this (0:51) moment? I hope it's not the lazy technique of mirroring sprites.
Everything about this game looks fun and awesome so far.
what a amazing company riot games is they are dominating the fps (Valorant) genre, MOBA (League of Legends), Auto-chess (Teamfight Tactics), mobile MOBA (wild rift), a lot of the TCG scene (Legends if Runterra). Soon to come I assume is assist-based fighting genre (project L) and the MMO scene.
I really like how you guys show us the process behind the creation of caracteres in the game
Im never into brawling games, but im living this already
ever since it was announced, Hype is Real
I'm not so hype for fighting game with assists mostly there will be 2 or 3 duo who's could do infinite with proper training the combo breaker is a good thing just I hope every character will have access to a "combo breaker" safe option.
I hope warwick and mordekaiser will be added to the game
This is looking PHENOMENAL. Now I love to imagine a champ like Tahm Kench, a grappler kinda big guy, with tongue based attacks, that’d be so coooool.
I can’t wait to play this. I love fighters and League (even though I shouldn’t), I am so excited!
The art style and combat animations look sick! Also i love that 2 champions can interact with each other's abilities. It looks really fun. Cant wait to play the heck out of it lol
Yeah I've only seen that in one other Tag fighter (Skullgirls)
MK introduced me to the amazing FGC, what a fantastic subset of video game fans.
I'm loving some of the new facial animation!
Its looking very promising. Great to see how the game is progressing so far. And really excited about the Tag Team style of gameplay.
There's no way this game is real, it all looks and sounds too good.

I don't think I've ever been this hype for a fighting game since the BBTAG was announced.
Ah watching this reminded me of old days of Tag tournament and 2 me and the boys used to set and play til dusk even argued with each other and can’t wait to play this hope roster is gonna be great

This look dope I like the tag and the defense systems
I would main Veigar or Jax if they ever come out
I would like to see a Veigar as cool as the one in LoR tho
Project L
Street Fighter 6
Tekken 8
the future of fighting games haven't looked so good in who knows how long really.
Glad to see so many more big FG devs being so open and positive with their community
THIS LOOKS REALLY GOOD!!!!!!! IM PRAYING THEY DO A VALORANT SURPRISE AND RELEASE IT ALL OF A SUDDEN.
I'm so damn excited for this game!!!
lmao i just rewatched the project L epilogue/reactions a day ago and this shows up. So excited for when this game is out.
Honestly my favorite part about this is seeing people I know from locals working on it
Aatrox needs to be in the game, him and Rhaast wold be a incredible duo, or shadow assasin kayn and zed, maybe regular kayn and akali
Incredible Mechanic, Cant wait to see it being played by pro player!

it will probably be insane
I can not wait, good job the team Riot
I’m so STOKED for this game. It’s look great guys, no rush on release date but damn I can’t wait!!!

I hope there's finisher attack like on Apex Legends or Mortal combat that would be great addition on the game ✨
This looks so well done so far. I'm just scratching my head - why they aren't making a platform fighter? Will someone please explain that to me? A PF seems like the obvious translation from LoL, more likely to nail that "easy to pick up, hard to master" curve.
Because they want to make a normal fightong game.
Simple as that, and Im glad about it
Please get this finally done, you guys took Rising Thunder from me and still made me wait for years.

PushBlocking (or something like it) does seem to be in the game, as the characters seem to have a blue outline when they block & the attacker is pushed back more noticeably.
@Dezha Vhu No, just defend is when you block on the exact frame and you get advantage. Pushblocking can be done at any time and pushes the opponent away.
isnt it called justblocking?
i'm so excited for this game! Go ahead rito gomes!
This game so far reminds me of bbtag and I like it.
Game is looking sick! I'm not fan of tag game fighting games, but maybe this one will be very good ans i'll love it.
But by the way it's looking right now, i don't think we'll get the game as soon as i thought
this already looks amazing and its only a third of the way complete dev build. My hopes are high

this game is seems so open ended. I love what they are doing and the updates are much appreciated.
Had no idea this was in the works. This looks sick.
Gameplay looks great, but BOY the visuals are incredible. So many fighting games of this style look dull, but this oozes style. I love it.

一つ祈る事があるとすれば日本でも流行って格ゲープレイする人が増えたら良いなって…
This game feels like your regular fighting game mixed with Smash
Tom getting more and more ancient every video
I look forward to the "true League mode" with 5 characters per side, just absolute circus games
We need champions like Sett and Lee Sin in this game 🔥
this will replace smash as my primary fighting game to play st parties. cant wait to try out different tag teams.
