@Seth York By quality, I don't mean technical fighting, as we already have various other games as you said. What I meant was, if Blue Goku's Kaioken x20 looks insanely cool, I wouldn't care less if I can't play as say, Cell Jr. If Vegeta's first final flash looks incredible, I don't care if I can't play as Dodoria.
If the tradeoff of not having more or as many characters as BT3 was the characters that ARE in the game got to have as much time to make them as cool as possible, a smaller roster is just fine.

@NitemareGaming I personally wonder how much they'll go with the entire Z retelling route or focus mostly on Super. I feel like the Z story is almost a must because of nostalgia, but I really hope the Super campaign isn't shelled or heavily cut down. It's actually interesting how till today there's not a single DBS retelling in a game, there's pieces but it's never in full.
I think they should take their sweet time with the game, especially if this is indeed a numbered Tenkaichi game, this one could easily make or break the future of DB games even more so than Fighterz because of how much importance it holds.
Almost all of the movie stuff and GT would definitely be DLC though, likely even OG Dragon Ball.
@OSAMA-KIN TMZ yeah i agree. i wonder how they'll implement Super. i figure the game could go up until the end of the anime. Broly's chapter could be added in as well. Just going off of this, and with them including the traditional Z saga roster, it's sizable, while also accounting for a lot of the newer characters. There's potential here for unique additions, especially when you look at the Tournament of Power.
Manga characters they'd probably do through dlc. Same with versions of characters from the Super Hero movie.
And characters from things like Z's movies (if not just included with Z) , OG DragonBall, GT, and EVEN Super DragonBall Heroes could be added through post launch packs if not in the vanilla release.

Ahhhh BT3 where there were literally 20 Gokus, but what was so exciting compared to the original Budokai is how each transformation had a completely different combo and moveset

@str8rippi Most people who play DBZ games play them to feel like they are in DBZ, not to be super competitive. And even then, the Tenkaichi games weren't just button mashing to victory. There were moves and combos to be memorized, as well as the correct timing for each action. It was way more dynamic than what you're trying to sell here
@str8rippi Mashing square and seeing your character do cool stuff was the goal though. It's more about it being a spectacle than mechanics. Making the player feel like they're playing the show instead of watching it. In that way, Tenkaichi is better for casuals because they don't care about real fighting mechanics. I mean I get what you're saying, but I can't really knock the game for what you're looking for if that wasn't the goal.
Facts, A lot of DBZ characters got sum screen time bcuz of the Tenkaichi games. One thing I hope they bring back is the What If saga. That shit was fun back in the days. Also putting in codes for the op characters so we and my bros can have a 5v5 against the CPU with the Op characters and I remember every time we would try to hit the Cpu with a specials. They would like insta teleport like a hundred times in mid explosion.

Like... this might seem like a joke to people who haven't played 2 and 3, but this is entirely accurate. They put multiple dudes who appeared in ONE, a singular episode of Dragon Ball, in Tenkaichi 3. Had one-off villains from when Goku was a child in the game with Z characters like Cell and all the movie villains like Jenemba and Android 13. They really said "Everyone Is Here"
If I remember correctly they even had all friezas forms lolll
Except they dont other than maybe devilman pilaf, tao and dk piccolo are final arc villans blue, tamburin are major villain with 2 or more fights!
Like I always said….Raging Blast fixed the multiple same characters and clone characters by introducing the character customization…being able to customize your supers made it easy to cut back on characters cause you could just change your supers to fit whatever era of character u wanted

@John Morales Giant battles were cool although sometimes tricky and slower paced but you I have to give it to the Devs back then they really wanted to make the game as immersive as possible to mirror the franchise.

I hope they put every dbz character ever written in the game if they was in an episode or even a manga panel I want them in the game. I want to be able to play as a damn saibaman frieza henchman whoever. I want to be able to recreate any battle from any episode or chapter, I want to even create all the what if battles I can think of.
I hope you can customize there clothing and they have different variations that would be cold asf but I hope it still has everything that’s part 3 had jus extra

In BT3 they had Goku from Dragonball, Early DBZ Goku, Mid DBZ Goku, End of DBZ Goku, AND GT Goku all as different characters. I hope they do the same in the new game, this could and SHOULD be the craziest DBZ roster in a game of all time but I’m scared they’re gonna fuck it up.
