    The follow up should be not only a clean up robot, but also one that sorts the pieces by color. I believe it will be much easier to design and make than the Dominator.

      I kinda of did something like this as a final project for my robotics class in high school, we had to make a robot that would sort out foam balls by color.

      Didn't their mechanical arm already sort pieces by color? The domino loading looked fully automated.

      With enough money, just about anything is possible. As a programmer and someone who does a lot of electronics, this project cost a fortune based on all of the components displayed.

    It’s incredible that the weight of 300 dominoes being dropped at once didn’t cause any vibration or disturb the air enough to dislodge even 1 domino, I know it was very low to the ground but having just spent hours sitting up dominoes with my kids, albeit quite small dominoes, so many things can go wrong.

    Did you consider setting the dominoes so that you would just flick over one and the line of falling dominoes would snake its way through all of them? It would've taken longer, but a time-lapse would've been so cool!

    That’s an incredibly interesting design, do you think you would be able to edit the robot so you only have to start the whole sequence from kicking over one domino instead a pipe knocking over many?

      As amazing the robot is, it is indeed questionable if it actually counts as proper domino laying, since it can't do a connected domino track.

    It is possible to have multiple layers stacked at same time, seperated by similar mechanism of drop, so that instead of 300, it can drop 600 or even 1000 in a single run.

      Brushes herd dominoes toward a conveyor belt. Conveyor belt buckets dominoes into a hopper. Opening at the bottom of the hopper drops dominoes in front of a colour sensor. Sensor informs a carriage to move to one of N positions, where N is the number of expected different colours. Trap door opens to drop domino into appropriate hopper.

    I LOVE the counter weights on the back of the dominator. They’re actual weights, bungee bound to the back. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best ones.

    Technically the speed of the robot is limited by the speed of the robotic arm, so a human can technically compete as long as they don't make mistakes and keep a rather fast pace
