A TV crew with local search and rescue workers ran for safety as the tremors brought down a residential building. Locals could be seen emerging from clouds of dust. The second earthquake occurred less than 12 hours after the first, affecting people in major cities across Turkey and Syria. The death toll is at least 1,500 people and there are thought to be many trapped under rubble.

@Luzitanium I mean, we wait for another big earthquake in Istanbul because it happens once in 250 years. If there is still an active fault in Lisbon, there will eventually be another earthquake of the same magnitude, but we cannot give an exact date. I assume nobody talks about earthquake in Portugal anyway.
As a Turk, I'm really happy to see people of every nation have put aside the vain quarrels and the differences and the disputes and show solidarity with us and offer their valuable condolences to the dead and the casualties. The human life matters over all things. Hope this peace keeps still.
