These whole events that happen around the map add so much to the game because it encourages teams to congregate around them and those who survive get these powerful weapons which adds the chance of it snowballing into a victory. The game actually has a flow now, before then it was just staying in the ring and wandering around until you find people.

Hope these mid-game events occur in comp, would spice up the comp scene during the mid game. Adds a high risk reward going after the mythics, gold, slurp juice. Would be so fun seeing pros fight over them.

I think that the more teamates in a capture area the quicker it should be, like reviving.
That would still make it slow in solos, but I guess you get all the loot for only one player? I could see this working in zero build, definitely; as you cannot build to protect yourself, so making it quicker minimises risk.
I thought it was? Or was that a previous season, or am I just dumb? It's been a little since I played last.
Exactly I remember I had taken a break from fortnite then I returned and it was chapter 4 and I thought the more teammates the faster u claim the flag

Nice to see that Epic is gradually improving the meta each season, I hope it stays that way.
In the last season, it looks like they tried to weaken the spray meta by adding perks to everything but smgs, and they are continuing to do that this season. This season, they finally removed op mobility, and now players can finally carry a 3rd weapon more often, since the katana isn't mandatory like the hammer. This is also why we are seeing a lot of heavy sniper use again, even though they are still harder to use than they used to be. The new pump fixed the problem the pump last season had, which was reload time. And finally, the mythic shotgun. They made specifically this shotgun stand out to all the rest so people would always use it. This shotgun is going to teach players that there's a risk to monking someone, since it's a common play with how powerful the smgs are.
I hope epic keeps on heading in this same direction for the next few seasons/updates.

@ellipsis I probably should've made it clear that I'm talking about builds. It really only is mandatory for zero builds.

I like how the circle moves in faster and causes less tick damage because it allows for more a smaller, more pvp in the endgame with more players alive rather then a big final circle

Overall the loot pool this season has been extremely fun so far. It's super great.

It seems more people are hitting a lot more shots then before. My first game I had someone tracking people through walls and pre-firing when they got close to an opening.
That's just your matchmaking getting better. I notice prefiring has been seen more, but even that way I feel it's very underrated.
Games are usually harder the first week after an update cause there are streamers and alot of sweats

The reason why the mythic does 250 is because it' supposed to one shot in no build aswell. However it's weird that epic and legendary guns don't have the ability too one shot.
Thats why they are mythic. Legendary and epic isnt meant to one shot anymore

The pulse rifle was strong before, kind of like te infantry, but now it's even better.
The gold slurp actually stacks on top of eachother. Using two heals faster than one
I feel like they did that purposefully so that you can also one shot with the mythic in zero build because of the over shield

the pulse rifle has always been like this tho, it always shot faster while hipfiring, but its definitely faster than the previous versions of it

Except they buffed like hell for the mythic. Although the ACTUAL good version of that weapon was in ch. 2 season 4 with the stark rifle, where the purple version of the weapon did 50 body and 100 head, back when it wasn't known for being good as a spray weapon.
This gun does more damage and has almost perfect accuracy when you ads but has a slower firerate, so you shouldn't always hipfire.

The sniper surplus perk is huge when you have a heavy sniper. Every time I seeit, I get it just in case I pick one up. Seriously, it's actually OP.

Most of pros go for like flashy overbuilds and edits but you are focused on being very effective and your gameplay is really calculated and 300 iq :DDD
People who just waste builds are called creative nerds, and a lot of the time they die because they realize that they don't have infinite mats.

in this season theres 12 storm waves instead of 9, they reduce the damaged taken by each wave and made the storm close faster so players dont play a pasive way to play

Here's a tip. Theres a new augment that every time you slide you get medium ammo, Well if you get the augment go to brutal bastion and go to the frozen pond you can slide forever

I wonder if you can knock people off of high areas/build fights with the katana like what you were able to do with Storm's mythic in c2s4.
You can, I've taken fall damage from an enemy hitting me with it multiple times.

they didn't change the pulse rifle, it's still as good but deals more damage
I’ve been using the glider redeploy with the mythic shotty and a pistol and some splashes and it’s my favourite mix so far. Haven’t had a chance to try the pulse rifle as the sweats crawl all over the island it’s nuts
I think that actually was an aimoter, as rare as it is he hit you before and right after you rifted and through the tree

remember the pulse got buffed so when u aim in it does more damage and now it shots faster
tip for the gain medium ammo while sliding augment: go to the frozen lake a bit to the left and down by brutal bastion, sprint, and then slide. your slide would go on forever if the lake didnt end but you can go back and forth and get max ammo if you really need it

Agreed. I see why he said what he said, because the increase mag perk works well for the pulse rifle he was showcasing. But there's no doubt the slide perk is just as good, and will be BROKEN in ZB competitive.

11:24 I had the same issue, someone just beamed me from several hundred meters away, but missed a few shots to make it seem believable I guess. Idk what it was from because I didn't even see anyone when I went to the spot that they were shooting from.

I like the idea of a new melee weapon per season
You can get the mythic AR and the Shotty at Shattered Slab and a brutal Bastion as well. Saves you from going to Mega city and dealing with a shit ton of people and hardly any way of getting builds.
The medium ammo sliding one is insane too you never don’t have ammo and can constantly apply pressure without worrying about running out

@unsto pablo spraying in the late game really kills ammo supply, and you don't have to worry about going to people you or someone else eliminated to get more.

@ARandomInternetUser must be the pace you play the game at. If you send it more, ammo will never be an issue in fort. Apex maybe. 500 ar ammo lol.

One thing to note: The Loot Island can spawn anywhere (e.g. it spawned in the snow biome during my game)
The new blade is cool but the acceleration time is to long for me because its just giving more time for enemies to shred you.
Use it accordingly bro. Time it right. Swap to a gun shoot then swap back. Idk 😂

@IAMTHEFUSS yeah, you don't know lol. There's a huge delay to swapping from the katana after using it, and also it's really easy to accidentally use the attack a 2nd time.
They designed it right! Quite literally as sypher said, it's intended for solely mobility, not aggressive plays. It's not exactly as powerful as something like a Shockwave grenade, where it also works defensively
The thing with the hip fire giving higher fire rate is not a secret, it’s been in the game since chapter 2 season 4 with the stark rifle
He's just doing things the way the average content creator does to get views.

my only problem so far is the new ar like everytime i switch to it i try to automatically shoot but it feels like it take a a second to maybe it’s just bc it shoots pretty slow but hats my only complaint the sword is a bit annoying but i can get over it since it’s one of those things that is fun when u have it like the hammer

I'm really glad you noticed this. This isn't directly the fire rate, this is the pullout time, which for whatever reason is utter garbage, and same for the new shotgun, but not to the extent of the AR. Unfortunately this also means that it's a complete spray weapon, and wouldn't work well in a box.
@Daniel Dasilva i’m really liking this season so far it’s even gotten me back to making videos on it. but yea they need to definitely make sum fixes because the new shotgun is a little too op compared to all the other ones and the ar has potential but needs to have a faster pull out for it to be worth picking up. at the end of the day i just hope this game can feel like it did all those years back again but i kinda doubt it since they always mess up
@Toast Crumbs The new shotgun is op? Remember, back then all the pump rarities did 200. This is how at least the purple and legendary shotguns now should be. The fact that in the previous few seasons shotguns DIDNT do 200 is part of the reason monking is powerful now. Also, same, I'm liking this season
@Daniel Dasilva yea imo the new shotguns are too op and idm that bc i love op weapons when i have them but the fact that it’s so easy to just spam it and get killed quick is just unfair imo and u could say the same for the old pumps but at least those took skills i get they want to be more accessible but they need to at least update the old weapons that was the point i was trying to make because the combat although cool seems outdated to me.
I'd say the munitions slide might be better.
I love the havoc shotgun and miss the ability to one shot with a solid shotgun but let’s be honest people are gonna complain and it’s gonna get nerfed into the ground

Something else that people probably don’t know is that visual sound affects don’t sense you if you crouch
My theory is that Epic made the new guns over powered because they needed their game to raise some level of mention in the media.
That can't be true. Epic has shown several times before that they don't care THAT much about money/new players, and if they do they just stick to advertisements. I think the real reason they are making the vault the way it is is because it makes the game more suitable for new/bad players, as shotguns are their weaknesses and spray guns are easier for them. In other words, epic is trying to make the game less sweaty, which has to be the biggest reason people hated the game back then. Either way, I'm not about their decisions of the vault, because it creates a million other problems.
The boss doesn't always spawn in the city. The boss can spawn in shattered slabs and maybe in other heist vaults from last season
All three spawn always. I have actually gotten 3 mythic havoc rifles in one game

they might want it to hit for 250 head shot because of no builds game mode

I think it hits 250 so you get one shot kills on zero builds also, as they have that 50 extra
As much as I love sypherpk and ninja I've grown to become a better player than the two top streamers rn, I'm yet to have seen a player that's bested me who actually streams
Running into sypher in a game is like a death sentence
Even tho the Overclocked pulse rifle shoots faster when not aiming, when aiming, it does almost 20 extra damage.
The news Shotgun does 250 damage because in zero build you have 250 HP so they wanted to have 1 shot headshot for all modes not miscalculated by epic. Also you only get 250 if you hit all the pellets, if you miss even one you do not do 200 damage so that just makes that point clearer.

The new slurp is good, but not the best in my opinion I believe Lol Ship's Special Serve is better because it instantly does 100 shield and 100 health.

I love how lott island is the island from loot lake. It's a nice touch, keeping some OG nostalgia so late in the game's existence.
Og one was better, specifically in terms of fighting. When you're fighting on the new island, it's really hard to retreat off the island imo. Back then you could just fly off any direction.

This is a skill of build mode. This is why I'm thankful sypher got better at builds after chapter 3 where he was garbage, and last season where he was in the process of getting better.
