Honestly, this woman is either the worst cook in the history of the world or she has created a genius comedy character.
comedy character
Yeah I don’t think anyone can turn garlic to charcoal and genuinely believe that it is nicely browned
im pretty sure shes the biggers troll cook i ever seen
@rlYlulrlHla *Looks at "You Suck At Cooking* You must be new here...
@Kyle yeah im new So?
British people never fail to amaze me
r/UK_Food is both a treat and a travesty
We aren't that bad right?
@Oliver Marshall not all but this....this
I admit, I’m awful at chopping things, but this lady makes me feel like a pro chef.
😂😂😂
frr
Bro I am 8 years old when the garlic turned brown I would think it is not burnt how stupid am i
@hamburger just by the smell you should know it's burnt, except you have no idea what that burnt smell is like
8:10 The fact she precooked the peas but not the rice 😂😂
😆 😂
She's just asking for it.
I feel attacked
is because she was learning that time but now she knows more about cooking
@🍄Berry cowgirl🍄 how do you know that? She seemed to think she was cooking it properly.
The extremes tho - cremated garlic and raw rice - yin and yang
Uncooked: horrible
Overcooked: horrible
This:
You called?
Poor Uncle Roger probably had to go to therapy after watching this, lol
🤣
💀💀
4:45 as an Indian I was terrified by how someone would try to make fried rice using raw rice, forget about fried rice raw rice is never supposed to even go there.
Omg yes 😂
Same bro I was laughing like hella crazy
fax brotha only raw rice in slow cooked biryani
I'm also Indian and I'm speechless
She didn't even burn the garlic , she straight up turned it into carbon
We can make diamonds
She made diamonds...
If she cooked it any longer, she would've made oil
you had us in the first half not gonna lie
Free diamonds
"You don't need egg! You need a miracle!"
Oh just kill me already🤣
she needs God lol
Use the recipe for this fried rice and you should be all set.
Imagine it being precooked egg and not raw.
Out of curiosity I made this, exactly as she did. I have no idea, literally no idea how that kid ate the food with a straight face. It really is almost child abuse.
Hes been conditioned
I almost couldn’t finish reading what you wrote😂…. Omg I’m still
Laughing and crying. I can’t believe I just read a comment that says “out of curiousity I made this………. I almost died when that kid took a bite! I have to move on I’m coughing cause I’m laughing so hard.
Idk why exactly but reading this was one of the funniest things ive ever read and im 41
You are a god how did you survive
you waste food for a fake video wow
It’s so sad. She’s has no clue. Actually, she’s adorable😊
I feel so sorry for Kay's son who has never tasted anything good in his life and thinks Kay's cooking is delicious lol
Im sure he's eaten out at restaurants
Thats her husband
@Thatrobloxkid its her son lmao
@Thatrobloxkid Definitely her son.
As an Indian, who likes fried rice very much, I was crying with my ancestors in the corner for atleast 15 minutes. I am traumatized.
Same
Me too now me have nightmares😢😢
😢
Trueee
Kay is a very interesting woman, she is:
One of the most wholesome people on the internet
But she brings dishes that scare satan deep in h3ll into creation
As an Asian, I legitimately teared up when she put raw rice grains in the cremated garlic
Same here
Probably because you and also Uncle Roger have a pretty limited knowledge about any food preparation outside of your specialty.
I mean the garlic truly is beyond saving that is out of question. She fucked that up pretty damn well.
And also you are supposed to add water later ofc.
But toasting garlic or other spices together with dry rice in that same pan is a legitimate technique.
I think toasting rice is pretty widely used in parts of middle and south america.
It adds additional flavor to the rice.
You do it until it is very slightly browned and than add the water to cook it.
Truly nothing for a person that can only make rice with a rice cooker....
@1337Jogi toasting rice is alright, I mean some recipes require to toast the rice for flavor and that's okay but serving the rice straight up raw makes me think I'm some sort of bird ngl
@Cyber Dazer haha I feel you
Uncle Roger is hilarious but it always feels cheap if he instantly freaks out if people do not use a rice cooker or wok.
Sure it is very handy but it is also kinda elitist to assume everybody should get one.
They are absolutely not necessary.
I have neither.
Not because they are too expensive but because space is a luxury and right now I even lack a microwave because I lack the space.
Assuming everybody would have enough kitchen space is just dumb.
Also a wok really serves no purpose if you do not have gas.
They will either heat very unevenly or they are super heavy (better heat transfer) or super expensive (inlayed materials for heat transfer).
A light carbon steel wok will not work with ceramic or induction.
@1337Jogi I'm not really sure if there any fried rice recipes that toast the rice
I've just started watching this woman's videos and believe me this isn't the worst thing she's made, her vegan quiche was a joy to behold and as for her cheesecake !!!
I'm cry laughing that the only thing you can say about her cheesecake is three exclamation points of shock I assume because it's beyond words
She seems like a very sweet person but watching some of recipes genuinely make me queasy
Vegan quiche?! The mind boggles.
I'd say the 'mushroom soup' one is also one of the worst lmao
@Claire8483 Yeah it is, and also the "different bolognese" 🤣
The fact that the man can even let the rice touch his mouth is the most unimaginable thing that shocks my soul.
You can see the rice is raw yea I wouldn't eat it and the fact he said oh its a little crunchy 💀💀💀
It’s astounding that she’s never cooked rice before. Like it’s absolutely mind boggling
She did a fried rice video before this one. And uncle Roger's reviewed both
Imagine growing up eating that food. And some day the son got out and went to the restaurant for the first time. He must have been so amazed and shocked what actual food tastes like
"Watching this video is like watching Schindler's List but for egg fried rice" got me laughing really hard!🤣
Dude it was just a typo, she's making egg dried rice.
nah she s making egg dried seeds
I correct: egg died rice
This us painful to watch 😔
@cupidcupcake auto correct: this rice so bad even grim reaper afraid of her
@Awesome Dr egg fried grains
You know what, even if the food is bad, she seems like a wholesome woman. She'll always be a legend to me.
Nicest person in the world. She reads her comments and responds too.
Her kitchen has to file for a restraining order against her to keep her away from committing more of these war crimes 💀
as someone who cooks fried rice quite often, this is tearing my soul apart looking at it😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I feel so bad for this lady. I wish someone would help her, like Gordon Ramsay if he could keep his temper at bay
Gordon Ramsay you say?? He should be served this “special fried rice” before being asked to help..I would pay to watch his reaction…😂😂
British people never fail to disappoint me 😊
On a serious note...growing up in the US my parents only got mad about food going to waste because it cost money. When I met my wife (japanese) it was the first time I heard someone say wasting food was an insult to all the people who worked hard to make it. Puts things into perspective.
My mom (japanese) said the same thing lol You thank the farmers, the people who transport it, the cooks, your mom or whatever who cooked it n stuff so you never waste it. It is a lot of effort to make food so..
Imagine your a farmer taking good care of crops and putting a lot of effort into it. Even to the point of traveling far from home, staying up late at night, waking up very early in the morning, and miraculously save the crops from an extreme weather event. And then you find out half those crops you sweat blood for were wasted easily by people. That has to be one of the most excruciating and devastating feelings you can experience. All that hard work and sacrifices not paying off.
economically that's because america has vast fertile land to grow crops in large scale and so easily so you have endless food to eat, while Japan has bad natural environment for agricultural production so food is always scarce, even to this day
This is pretty much most asian countries. I am told to eat what food is on the table and taught how to cook dishes using leftovers to save. When I eat, there's not a single grain of rice left on the plate.
My parents and grandparents experienced world war 2 and they never waste food. They even fry unrefrigerated leftover boiled rice that's already borderline spoiled.
This woman makes me feel better about my own cooking. I am no disaster but I could use a confidence boost. Though what got the opposite of a boost is my faith in humanity.
i refuse to believe this isn’t satire. she can’t seriously cook like this
she is the kind of person that will burn bread completely and say "wdym its crisp"
Because of this video, I had to Google if it's safe to eat uncooked rice.
I hope Lee didn't finish all that rice. All I'm seeing on Google is that it's unsafe to eat uncooked rice and that it can cause poisoning...
Oof
Nah, you'll have diarrhea nothing serious
So your saying as a kid, when I would straight up eat rice put of its box, it was bad for me? Oh sh-
No it was cooked, just in oil instead of water
As an Asian Brit this video made me cry, Roger didn’t even need to try! The comment about his ancestors crying was too much 😂
To this day I've no idea if Kays Cooking is a legitimate person that somehow didn't learn to cook or is a hilariously well done character doing a bit.
legit person
I showed my parents her channel and they refuse to believe she's not faking it
I think they'd lose all faith in humanity if it turned out to be real 😅😅😅
@Ce'rianica Estagnier 🤣🤣
I think it's a bit of both. She probably isn't good at cooking, but she's exagerating some things as well, for comedic effect.
@storm runer nope, she's actually that bad
That killed me at the end, Kay gets her recipes from the dark web..😂😂😂
Same 😂😂😂
Especially the garlic
My Japanese in laws have made hotdog fried rice for my kids and somehow it was delicious. That takes skill. Idk how her kid has survived to adulthood on that.
Greggs pasties.
Fried rice with hot dogs is a common kid's menu item in Japan so I'm not sure how that's a surprising thing. Also: see "Hotsilog" in Filipino cooking.
As for Kay's son though...I could not tell you. There is a common theory that her' son's body adapted to not have functioning taste buds.
Fried rice with hotdogs. Bro you just reminded me of my childhood
I love your videos so much. I first started watching when I stumbled upon your videos while quarantining with COVID in April of 2022. You are so hilarious and make me want to know how to cook. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! Hope to meet you one day at some event. :D
Pro tip (not really): oil is the right temp to start cooking with when it gets a little wavy. Swirl it around in the pan and see if it's wavy. Use a hot enough pan initially though. How to tell: throw a spinkling of water in - if it kind of skips like little pebbles, the pan is perfectly heated to start cooking. Put your oil and onions in now.
yep, flick some water on the pan and if it dances, you've got a hot enough pan to cook
It's one thing not to know how to make a particular food item/recipe. It's next-level and much further to not even know how to chop vegetables. It's God-Tier to make a channel presenting the results as tasty and aspirational.
"Her chopping is so bad, even the garlic is escaping from her.”
i died laughing-
We meet again
Is it fun working there?
Rest in peace my dude
I dead now
F
As an Asian, i feel your pain uncle, i feel it. Looking at raw rice getting fried and not cooked first, gave me emotional damage. And thank you for promoting my country's product
When the son said, “you cant taste the garlic”, i lost it.😂
He's being really sweet to his mom because burnt garlic is so bitter that it could probably count as a biohazard
"For egg fried rice, you want to gently brown the garlic until it fragrant. Not cremate it."
I died.
I entered this video feeling somewhat bad for the woman. That ended when I saw the uncooked rice go into the wok.
Aww, Kay is adorable though. And her son is being so nice to her.
If everyone who watched this video subscribed to Kay’s channel she’d have 11 million, more than Uncle! She deserves it bless her
Let's give Kay props for having the world record time of making Uncle Roger's leg go down the chair.
Lol
Truth
Now there's a new king for this record
*HowToBasic*
True
@REDHAWK but burning the damn garlic and throwing raw rice over it and then also putting boiled peas in it is just....uh..yea.
The most upsetting part of the chopping is that it means some pieces of various foods have probably flung into hard-to-reach/clean areas like in-between or under appliances and are left to rot. That'll attract all kinds of pests and create an unsanitary kitchen like no tomorrow.
Foods like onions, garlic and anything with capsaicin or mint might be natural pesticides and aren't as likely to attract insect pests, but that doesn't mean rodents wouldn't turn their nose at stray pieces...
I like how her son is completely honest
this woman is a force to be reckoned with
I'm not an Asian descendant, but I almost started crying when I saw all that good garlic getting wasted.... Only to receive a K.O. with that poor rice.... Oh, boy! That was truly brutal!
Not even the MSG could save that!!!
Never laughed soooo much! She had me at the garlic!
Suddenly, Jamie Oliver's fried rice isn't so bad
Tearing tofu still can’t be forgiven tho
lol
Ikr?
@Savage Noob101 yes it was tearing uncle roger's heart too
Lmao
I laughed all way through this video, spitting out my food. Thanks Uncy Rodge
Same here!
3:45 to 4:03 is easily one of the best parts in the video, I laughed so hard I had to go take a short break before coming back to stop the laughter
It's a medical miracle Lee is still alive after having to taste his mom's horrible food all the time.
I am literally numb from laughter. So sorry you had to go through that Uncle Roger 😂
The moment she poured the uncooked rice, pain struck me in the chest… 😢😢😢
"Even auntie helen has egg inside her and she still dry" Im sad not more people gave this adult joke attention. That was funny af.
N O E G G
Uncle how did you fix Auntie Helen’s dryness ?
Haha so true, this joke was so good, I wonder if maybe it didnt click with people right away and they missed it.
Honestly it went right past me, rewatching it is 100% better the second time lol.
"Even auntie helen has egg inside her and still dry"is my quote for school
We love Kay! Her cooking is so unique 🤣
Thought it was crazy when I once saw a student put pasta in a dry cooking pan to cook it, but this is even worse.
I always wonder how Kay's son made it this far, honestly. Fish and chips from the shop down the road?
As an Indonesian I'm very surprised that Indonesian brand of sasa will be starred in this video. and Thank You Uncle Roger!
I love how uncle gets so frustrated at times he starts sliding out of his accent. He looks genuinely angry in this video lol
I'm a home cook who just makes food for myself and I'M genuinely angry at this video XD
You know it hurts when he breaks character
Weejio*
Yes. Uber level p-artistry
Lol
as an asian, when i saw her not wash the rice and not even cook the rice and leaving it over night i legitimately died inside
I legit think Kay has never eaten rice ever in her life, whether it be the new attempt or the classic you really really really need to understand she's NEVER eaten a single morsel of 'exotic' cuisine. She never uses seasoning, never, this was the first time she ever handled garlic and she cuts it like a potato for stew, I get the impression that Kay is so British the closest she's ever come to flavor is boiled peas.
Also, love the fact she uses sliced loaf ham, she probably has no concept of ham as a thing outside of deli meat, I really wonder what kind of childhood she had that THIS is her attempts at cooking.
Your look when she burned the garlic is priceless, so funny! :)
The moment she put in the raw rice I started laughing cause that's how upset I was
Legend has it, Uncle Roger will still have his leg off his seat to this day.
I genuinely think she's trolling, there's no way that she feeds anybody that 😭
That’s what I just said!!
That's what I think too. It makes more sense that way.
I thought the same thing. She can't be THAT BAD at cooking. Looks like she does it on purpose.
oh no she does!
I seriously think so, like not cooking rice but boiling peas in water , no way anyone is genuinely that dumb
I love that you've done this review Roger, she is not a very popular person, she is amazing. She might not be very good at cooking, but you've uplifted someone who tries hard. :) I like and follow all of her meals now, she's very fun. I hope she does good food one day.
I've seen this Kay's Cooking video a few times and I GASP every time she puts the raw rice into the wok.
What's more shocking is that Lee gave it a thumbs up too, he really doesn't want to dissapoint Kay at all.
Uncle Roger as a former chef 👨🍳 I must say this cooking from the woman is one of the most baddest headaches I ever experienced 😟
I LOVE HOW HE PRETENDS TO BE AMERICAN DURING THE OUT TAKES HIS AMERICAN ACCENT IS PHENOMENAL!
She took the "FRIED RICE" recipe *_too literally_*
Damn 🤣
Bro that's fried grains not fried rice
@Skele rice is a grain
@K. you're right
fired rice
Every time I watch this I just can't control my laughter and start rolling on the floor 🤣 😭
Uncle Roger: *"Don't feed this rice to human. Don't do taste test. This is... CHILD ABUSE."*
*OMG!!!* That part just made me laugh so hard right now 😂
This is definitely performance art. There's no way someone can be this delusional of a cook.
You would be surprised. Cooking with Jack actually does appear to be that delusional
I'm amaze how Lee able to grow up healthy with food she's made
Sometimes in anime there's a character who is so terrible at cooking their food might as well be poison. I always thought that there's no way that's gonna happen in real life, then Kay presented herself
Shokugeki and Kay as a main vilian who poison enemies with her food xD
She's really like a live version of Otae from Gintama with her fried eggs dark matter xD
worse than meliodas lol
Mizuki Himeji cooking lmao
Shion reincarnate
@Shara even her food tastes good now
Years ago I thought doing something similar with a strong Spanish accent so to see this work so well and be so entertaining is amazing 😂
I still love Kay’s cooking. She has a good time cooking.
While I'm struggling if I am good enough a cook to have a youtube channel, this chick just does it without hesitation and has a quarter mil subscribers. What a time to be alive.
Did she really think that frying raw rice was gonna cook it? She took egg fried rice to a whole new level 😅😅😅
Its amazing how much people will rip on you if you can not cook
“The mom can’t cook, and the son can’t spoon” HAD ME BURSTING IN TEARS 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I'm dead 💀💀💀
And someone told me you burn water i love kays cooking she's the best
@B cause Your Cooking
@carol delphin *you’re
Hey Yoimiya! When’s the firework festival gonna start?
im young still and ive been cooking for around 2 years and kays videos make me EXTREMELY proud of myself for some of the foods I've cooked
I legit had a panic attack when she turned the garlic into carbon and added raw rice grains into it.
i think she is trying to kill us all
the son is so polite i love it :)
I love this video. And I feel bad for the lady. Cause it's clear she never tried to cook anything before this. And for her son God help that boy. He show love to his mother!!
Uncle Roger switching voices to say "sorry children" is 👌just perfect
I laugh so hard when that happens 🤣
He does it too often now.. He breaks character too much recently
I wasn't expecting the voice change, that caught me off guard
He should watch “Jacks cooking show”
I haven't finished the video yet but this is some superb technique. Did you see how she toasted that rice in the well seasoned garlic? Perfection. She's a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu for sure.
I didn't think Kay's cooking could get any worse then her spaghetti and meat balls. She seems like a perfectly nice lady she should just not be legally allowed to cook food for that poor boy.
As a Indian who loves Egg Fried Rice so much.
I'm just 💔
Well done, young man, You have another subscriber. High production value and great writing along with great acting, I was laughing thru-out.
Kay's knife is actually a really good one. My parents have a whole set of them. Always sharp.
Having said that, the rest of this "dish" was a train wreck.
"I didn't know you could make garlic look like it lived through Chernobyl" Made my day.
Sad
you have 666 likes wtf
HAHAHAHHA I MAKE YOUR LIKE 1.000
In my opinion, I think it's because Kay's parents never teach her how to cook when she was young, so that's why she messed up the egg fried rice
my parents didnt teach me either, you can learn, its the era of technology not 1980
The Mexican in me came out when she chopped that garlic and I was about to call upon the ancestors to help me get through this video. Mistreatment of herbs and spices is a way to get every culture coming after you
Edit: OHOHO IT GOT WORSE! My Nana would ground me if I put dry rice in the pan with burnt garlic, hell all my tios and tias would stare at me like I started some brujeria and cast some maldiciones.
I’m British and I make hell of a good egg fried rice I watched this and i strait up cried
She could’ve made a rice-a-roni type dish after cooking the dry rice. That may have made it marginally better.
i was so traumatised when she didn’t not cook the rice first i sat in the corner crying tears of rice with my asian ancestors
