I follow a few channels on YT pretty closely. The content varies widely. The common denominator is likable people worth caring about. I am so thankful to you for sharing your situation with us, and I’m very thankful you are both well and safe.

  • The Surfside Jetty Channel

Wow every time I saw that hurricane on news I was wondering how y'all made it! Glad it didn't harm your area but sorry about your neighbors. We in Houston had our share of floods and know exactly how y'all feel. Take care and stay safe!

  • Paul Neal

Very relieved for you guys, love your content and appreciate this footage and your neighborly concern. Proper planning on your part.... and lots of luck and prayers answered. Ian just left our area up in Orlando as well, we got spared the worst of the winds by far this time, but the flooding, even up here, is insane... Wishing the best for the 2.6 mill people here in FL without power, hang in there.

Glad to see everybody's OK. I've been watching your videos for a couple of months now. Main thing is that no one got injured (I hope) , thanks for the update . I have been through the eye of 4 cyclones, or should I say passed over me ( same as hurricanes ) , 3 here in Australia and one in Fiji . I know the power and devestation they cause and what the aftermath is !! I'm glad you both are ok . Now a lot of your reefs will be affected , in one way or another , I hope not too badly . I am so glad you both are ok , my thoughts to all affected , thanks !

Thanks for sharing. It is important for people to see the power of these storms for both preparation and evacuation. I live in a little town outside of New Orleans called Luling. We were ground zero for IDA and live in a slab home just above sea level-very different from a hurricane rated -elevated home. We were without power for 22 days and many folks like my neighbor have still not been able to move back into their homes for over a year later. No appreciable services (GAS, Food, Water for a couple of months). I recall the horror of seeing the neighborhood that looked like a war zone upon my return. Our contractor did not complete the needed repairs until January 22 and we had to spend another 3 weeks out of the house during the worst of the sheetrock work. Not from flooding just wind and rain. The moral of the story is you need to understand the risks and limitations of staying or leaving. You are in a good place with type of home you have and experience in dealing with storms. But people need to fully appreciate their individual circumstance, the power of these storms and prepare or get out accordingly. Again in the wake of this storm as in Katrina we will see many deaths and heartache that could have been avoided if folks would only think through the decision to stay or go. Regards Steve

So glad you’re alright. I’m watching safely from Atlanta but so much Florida family between my wife and I- Ft Myers, Orlando and Tampa. It’s gonna be a worrisome few days.

Thanks for the update. Glad you're good. I used to get in the ocean after a big storm when living off Venezuela and spear ton of fish in areas where there were none prior the storm. Have noticed that?
