HAPPY NEW YEARS!! 🥳 Hope your 2023 is filled with lots of Star Wars videos and cookies 🍪🍪 What battles do you want to see in slo mo next?
Maybe that battle with those villagers vs the separatist!
Do the last two duels in revenge of the sith
At 13:40 you mention the droid moving like he 's being thrown back by the explosion but i was looking at his foot i think hes tripping on another droid while hes trying to back away from the thermal detenator... but thats just me...
Please the battle where we first se the bad batch
Space battles
14:27 this scene was just so good, and the fact Ventress was basically like "so you want me to surrender?" and Anakin kinda shows abit of the dark side here saying that he was gunna just let the clones execute her and you know damn well the clones would have been all for that.
Letting the clones execute her is pretty reasonable she risked their entire existence
And clones aren't bound by the Jedi's no kill ruling
Can we take a moment to appreciate the droid who *very* politely knocked on the door while saying "Open up."
8:04 Always loved the scene where Echo and Fives were prone shooting droids, it’s not often that you see clones prone and using such a good choke point with cover. It’s the main thing I remember from this episode
@william in the Cloud City map, if you're a Clone Jet Trooper you can get up to certain high areas and pick off targets with your pistol and it's difficult for return fire to hit you when you're prone. In more ordinary areas and on other maps, those standing around near you get picked off first before the fire starts going for you when you're prone. There's also silly things like seeing how long you can crawl around while prone and tally up kills.
@Motoroid ARFC1852 I didn't know
@williamreally? That was one of the useful things in the old original.
It's a shame you can't go prone in battlefront 2
5:57 Clones have a radio in their helmets to easily tell others about the battle without having to yell to eachother.
Nah mate some of those helmets had mouth prices and eye sensors that enabled the user to toggle on multiple functions. They're used in the third book in the commando series, and are used by a company of clone troopers on Qilura while removing farmers for illegal occupation on a republic world with an endangered species. We know it phase one armour used because there is a time stamp given of 473 galactic standard days after the first battle of geonosis. That's around 1 year 3 months into the war, during the same period that phase 1 armour was used.
Yeah, even in the triple Zero book by the same author we see that omega squad along with a battalion of troops in the hanger of I think an acclamator, they full on belt out the Vode An but there's no sound of singing in the hanger for people not wearing a CT helmet. Only the clones can hear it
@LordVader1094 In the order 66 scene with Rex when he drops his helmet we can literally hear the comms in there.
And all the other Clones around Ashoka respond to it as well, there’s most likely a Comm built into all helmets. But maybe Wrist comms are supposed to contact specific people like generals. If you notice Rex is the only trooper in the 501st who has the wrist comm, so its probably only to contact Anakin.
In legends the clones could activate different systems in their armor by clicking their teeth or blinking a certain pattern at sensors inside their helmet, it’s hard to show that in a show like this so that’s probably why they always have them physically activate it, but it could be that’s what he did. Also another example where it looks like that happened is in landing point rain when Rex tells his troops to focus on the droids on the top of the wall, a clone nods and makes a casual gesture with his hand, but doesn’t say anything, he may have activated his comlink inside the helmet with one of the methods I mentioned as well. Not saying that’s for sure what happened but that’s what I tend to believe when things like that happen.
@Alex Carter i mean sorta like the death trooper. In the clone wars unfortunately every scene with communication requires the comlink on the wrist being connected and activated such as when Maul removed one from a clone and thats what was sending comms not their helmets. Would’ve been smarter to do which is why they probably have it for the death troopers in Rogue One
Fun fact the word Ewok has never been spoken in the films and Tupac could have been cast as mace windu
@heisMrQ I think their armor stops bullets and shrapnel. However, armor comes in many different strengths. Some are only strong enough to stop bullets from handguns but others can stop bullets from assault rifles.
I thought Tupac was already dead at that point.
Coruscant lovin.
@Ryan Mcwilliams Based
@Rebel Friend Irish and white as shit. I’ll say whatever I want
I found it kinda extra sad how when Colt (red Arc Trooper) died he was pleading with his eye's in fear: first time seeing, it I was so hoping Obi-Wan had shown up so much earlier.
@ShadowAsasin908 Perish
I ain't gon lie, I wouldn't mind being colt during that scene
I loved the ARCs of Rancor Battalion, wish we could have seen more before their end.
RIP 99. He was a real one.
Indeed he really was one of them 😢
2:57 that's not the issue. It totally does fall, but the issue that Obi-Wan sees is that they're too willing to lose their ships and take hits.
I'd also love for him to do this series for the 2003 Clone Wars. The amount of crazy action in that one is astounding.
Especially the Grievous fights
A darn shame for Havoc and Colt to both be taken out this battle.
Yes sir I would love to see a slowed down rewatch of Rookies as I always loved your series of rewatching theses in keep doing this!! As I am sure in every episode there is something we missed 😅 also at 7:48 we can a a clone with blue markings to the left of obi wan.
@OakenSoup6 looks like they all do
If You look close enough, i think all of them have the blue markings
10:30 I remember when the episode first aired, that scene was definitely in it. I remember thinking how brutal it was for Cartoon Network. Pretty sure they never aired that version again until Disney took over.
I saw the unedited version on DVD and initial release in Australia
5:13 How many realize that all those chambers contained baby clones?! That's still hard to watch.
Ah heck no
the clones behind anakin and obi wan at 7:48 have the same markings as a 501st clone named Mixer from season 2 episode 13, he was killed with his friend Redeye in the episode which really sucks
In timeframe of 13:05 i notice a cadet with Echo, Fives, Rex, and Cody. What was he doing there??? He had no weapon.
9:38 In regard to the clone hit twice, realistically in any sort of armor, if it is hit once that area is weakened already. So if hit again in the same spot it most likely went through, but stopped on the inside of the back.
0:49 Correction, those are Commando Droids, not assassin droids. Though considering how they operate, you can call them assassin droids.
Also, for their thin proportions, you commented on how they swim, but have broad shoulders, that's actually a swimmer's body, so they are actually well made for how they operate
I still kinda think that reflected blaster bolt was actually meant to be something blocked by Ahsoka's lightsaber, but the angle changed in the 3D viewer so it no longer matched up to look like it bounces off the lightsaber.
You are right about the armor. The same happens with stormtroopers often. We only know that 25% of the stormtroopers that fall on the ground due to a blaster bolt stand survive and that clone armor was a bit tougher, so i would think of it as at least 35% for clones. They dont die from every shot, it has to be either multiple shots, Well placed shots or stronger weapons. Thats the reason why clone weapons do out holes through it (when fox killed fives): they are stronger then droid blasters. Also, for the ARCs, they had stronger armor just like many other special units do they could tank some more shots aswell. Also, Droid tactics were often to just rush the clones with so many droids that they couldnt even Recover the wunder wich theoretically is genius but almost never worked due to their morality lf never leaving anyone behind.
If you thought Obi-Wan slashing an aqua droid underwater was cool, you would love the Battle of Mon Cala. I believe it was the first arc of Season 4.
RIP to 99, the one clone that was respected and loved by every clone and respected by jedi
4:42 I believe it’s canon that they are Unconscious due to the pain of the shot or something. At least that’s how it is for Stormtrooper armor, so I assume it works similar here.
It dispersed the energy to keep the trooper alive, but the the pain of getting hit with a literal laser still will knock them out
Something you forgot to mention was the 2nd clone that got hit 2 times weapon got jammed and you can see him banging his weapon ( this was right before ventress kisses the clone 😂 )
Super excited for this slow-mo episode! Happy new year to everyone. 🎉😊
Stormtroopers at first we’re clones but after the revolt on Kamino they switched to civilian recruits
7:50 the clones in this scene had some unique markings. It’s really hard to see.
who? Echo and Fives?
They have the markings of a clone named Mixer which I think was an animation error
did u also notice there were like 5 clone trooper mixers when anikan and obiwan were trying so hard so deflect blaster bolts
I like how there is literally 4 ARC troopers in this episode and they barely show the second red one, he also survived the battle with blitz.
Can you do a slomo of the season 7 episodes with the bad batch? That would be really cool! Thanks for always uploading great content!
I'd love to see you watch the destruction of Kamino in the Bad Batch in 0.25x speed. What a cool episode
Definitely my favorite battle of the clone wars alongside the one on ringo vinda. Idk if you will be covering it in the future.
rest up to all the clones that fought viciously for their home
This is probably one of the best episodes in the entire show, same with the battle on Rishi Moon
About someone the clones missing their shots. We can assume as it is attack on Kamino that the closely finished trained troopers might had sat to help defend Kamino. So they dont have much battle experience then like Fives, Echo, Rex and Cody. Plus the Aqua droids (Yes they are called Aqua droids) might also be made out of the same kind of "armour" that B2 "super" battle droids. The B2 droids where known to take hits before going down. Much like the commando droids can
The kiss kill was in the dvd release. Also it’s good to see that the clone armor at least keeps them alive.
12:27
I love this scene, because of The battle, but I think you missed the detail, the Kaminoan is hiding behind the clone.
I always saw this as a payback attempt from heinous because to the despise that is basically like their Kamino so they are getting payback on the clones little head cannon
I don't know how many people know this but Five's helmet marking is of a Rishi Eel to remember Cutup.
That was a great video. So many cool finds. But that Ventress scene was... interesting.
In my opinion I think the saddest story of the clone wars is the clones themselves considering the fact that they're inhibitor chips you know programming and what not for order 66, but it's all highlighted with the fall of the Domino squad. The saddest death in my opinion has got to be Five's. He was my favorite clone besides Rex.
Its so good to see Michael talk about the clone wars!
the droids in 3:42 are actually dolphin kicking which is the traditional way to kick after diving before surfacing and doing either freestyle or butterfly.
what you said about armor and the clones being knocked unconscious is spot on. the helmet shots are often not survived though bc that plastoid is thin, accommodating for the HUD, breathing/cooling, and comms systems. there's also the matter of scatter guns and illegal caliber of blaster ammo that can penetrate standard plastoid clone/stormtrooper armor. scatter guns are just like irl guns w/ bullets so they don't disperse and ik that Han Solo's DL-44 absolutely slams stormies bc yeah he's a smuggler, he's got an illegal caliber blaster. in the Republic Commando game you face a ton of trandoshans w/ scatter guns and you can body a few only bc how upgraded CC armor is. wish we got to see more of them in action in TCW as a functioning squad instead of Gregor going solo. we could see some of that badassery in action so maybe the Gregor scene would be a good .25x speed episode.
15:20 other clones: aww, kid probably has a concussion ):
Michael: _Lil W i E r D o_
How long does it take you to watch these at .25 pace and make the video for them I know your doing a pretty good with the in depth detail but man this is crazy and your welcome from .001 of the 12 % thanks for the amazing content 🤙🤙
Oooh. This is a good one to analyze. Can't wait to see it. RIP Hevvy, 99, and the rest of Domino squad.
4:33 I think it's a range thing, like when this clone was shot, it was from the top of a wall nearly like, a mile and a half up by a normal hand held blaster rifle, but the other dude was hit from like, 20-30 feet away
1:26 Their actual intention is to beef up Kamino security to stop any investigation of kamino by hiding behind lots of red tape.
Loved this episode so great . ALSO HAPPY NEW YEARS
For the outpost episode, in the scene where the ship blows up, some droids appear out of nowhere after the ship explodes
Oh and the Droid in the water do have propulsion system, their feet become props and spin in the water. I think you can see it in the 4 the season of the clone wars, in the exact episode that phase 2 armour can be FIRST seen(the CT in the phase 2 is on the gang plank of an escort
class ship, I don't remember the class.)
The troopers shot in the chest have a high chance of survival ', specifically because of how robust phase 1 armour was, it usually took a snipers round to the chest or head to one shot a Clone trooper. Anything else would take a couple of rounds to penetrate.
Dude let’s gooooo. Also may I suggest the battle of Mon Calla. All the underwater stuff makes for some really interesting scenes.
i love your content its so entertaining
Michael Jae every five minutes: I completely forgot about this part!
About your question at 12:50, Palpatine, probably, would have made Dooku have it somewhere he knew RI would discover it to sent a Jedi, presumably Skywalker, to retrieve it.
The way I've always understood it, both stormtrooper and clone trooper armor are mainly meant to protect against glancing shots, not direct hits. I don't know if that's lore accurate, but that's what I think.
So I was wondering, at 15:20 we see two Arc´s standing on the Platform, the guy on the right, talking to the Kid seems to be Blitz but the other one on the Left got the same Armor as Havok who got shot earlier on, so maybe he didnt died from these two Blasterbolts and his Armor actually protected him.
@Wyatt Kittle ah yeah now I see it. There are no coloured marks visible on the armour set on the left so I didn’t know who this guy could be (probably just Blitz) but the guy talking to the kid definitely looks like hammer
the one talking to the kid is hammer
when arc trooper havoc got shot in the chest i never noticed blitz was next to him and didnt even look
Your right I never saw that before!!!!!
I’ve watched this episode like 10 times already
Oh my goodness! I literally just watched this episode!
I love how Ventress skewered the clone, then kissed him..... yeah, I maybe a little messed up in the head lol
Unfortunately I think the Clone who got shot twice in the same spot died from his injuries the second shot definitely finished him off.
Don't know if you noticed but 99 actually mutters Hevy's name just before he dies and right after he falls over.
Let’s go. Haven’t watched it yet, but I bet it is another banger!
okay so i’m just spewing out a question here but didn’t they say due to them thinning out jangos dna the clones where getting kinda like weaker or not as efficient or even a lower quality because they where using his dna so sparingly? and if so, dose that mean the batches before jangos death and while he lived on kameno where a bit more combat efficient and deadly since they could just keep getting more and more of Jangos dna basically making them like an almost direct copy rather than a thinned out?
Interesting the clones said there is the General all with DC-15L and after the short scene they got DC-15S back
Awesome this is my favorite stand alone episode!
6:00 I remember reading that in their helmets they have built in coms I think he yelled watch out above you and the point was the body following his words.
You should do the saleucami arc next, super underrated episodes in my opinion
ARC Commander Colt clearly has one of the most painfull death of the series.
The guy who got hit twice is suffering the effects of shock
The cloners should have made another unaltered clone alongside Boba, then they would have had all the Jango DNA they could ever need. Keep him on ice and just get samples as needed.
7:04 the laser bolt probaby struck the strap of the backpack causing it to fly off
would like to see maybe a slow mo of the battle for mon calamari or atollon
I think the arc trooper survived the first shot cause where it hit he has an extra bit of armour there
I always felt that we never see any clone or storm troopers die from a simple blaster shot. Just that they get fucked up by the impact, heat and how the energy disperses from the undersuit.
So the way I always saw it, the armor takes the hit, and the undersuit doesn't absorb but dissipates the blast across the body, causing the soldier to go into shock and knocking them out.
However if they get hit in a gap in the armor, yeah the undersuit can't dissipate it, the plates absorb the heat so the blast burns right through the undersuit and kills them.
At 5:51 they also managed to clap one extra droid
Great to see another video I would love to see you do a video on the battle of mon Cala from the clone wars
Dont forget the fact some of those droids had improved armor that also could deflect/take some shots and since they are not living beings they dont go unconcious
Fun fact: that deleted scene with Ventress kissing the guy was included in the physical DVD set released the following year,
What I wanna know is Which "Tactical genius" comes up with the clone deployment strategies for these battles? Clone troopers seem to be passed masters at standing in a line out in the open and allowing robots to mow them down. Please Note: something like this happened to most of General Custer's skirmish lines. Before the(few) survivors broke and ran, the dismounted cavalry was mowed down in rows!) And someone took that tactic to the stars?? Or is it just that the whole planet full of clones was sick the day the battle simulations taught "Take cover!"
Did you know if you watch the Citadel arch you can see Longshot (A random 212th clone) respawn over and over again?
G'day Michael Jae,
While I don't comment often your slow-mo reviews are great to untrained eye's (although not me hah hah I've got some of the best eyes for hidden details to a point that I annoy my friends when watching films at the cinemas)..
Anywho might I suggest the Citadel arc of the 3rd season especially the naval battle that while short has a few hidden scenes (notably one whole attack cruiser disappearing between episodes).
5:40 actually, its the helmet that is why the stormtrooper can't hit. as seen from an episode of star wars rebels, captain rex and kanan are infiltrating and imperial base or ship, in stormtrooper armor. they get found out and they are being chased. rex fails to hit many shots and proceeds to exclaim "its the helmet, I CAN'T SEE" and throws the helmet at the troopers. he then starts hitting his shots.
You should do the battle of monsters cala next could be some interesting details in that one
There was so many cut scenes from cartoon network lol, thankfully they showed them fully like the first few times. Until they're like damn these are way too violent
This is very personal for us clones
- Captain Rex
8:26 he was pushing him so he didn’t get shot
Perhaps the 2part arc of ahsoka surviving trandoshan hunters on an island (the last two episodes of season 3)
That clone youth at the end of the video was approaching ARC Trooper Hammer. So he does have more then 1 appearance!
9:35 the clone’s gun had an issue and i’m surprised you didn’t call that out
Apparently, clone trooper ( P1 and P2) have bulletproof glass, so they could survive a headshot, but the chance is not the highest.
For the record. Yes I want to see a video on the Rookies episode. Please 😁
It was also confirmed Ventress kissed the arc as a way to disrespect him.
DUDE IM OVER WONDERING HOW YOU DONT HAVE 50 MILL SUBS YOUR MY FAV AND YOU DROP BANGERS
The fact about THIS the clone troopers was waiting for the droid to open the door and got shoot
I thought Ventress was gonna stab that Clone through the mouth/head
Michael, you should check out the massacre of the sister witches alot of action
S4 E19
