@Neddi Stanz Thanks mate, great rig! I'm about to get rid of a Wizard and I have a 2902 power amp here. Thinking about picking up a JMP1 again... this will be my 3rd time buying one :)

    • Neddi Stanz
      Neddi Stanz 10 days ago

It definitely is a heavy power amp but it did not come with rear rack ears so I have it mounted just with the front rails

  • A24Fretman
    A24Fretman 13 days ago

Interesting pedal, hmmmm. Oh and G-Force FTW! so easy to program too. Everytime i remove mine from the rack to try something else, i miss it and it goes right back in place. Can't stand tweaking, hence no helix, fractal, etc etc.

I have the same head - I have had it since 1978 - it is the true sound of late 70s hard rock period - from Perry to Blackmore and everyone else - monster sound - sadly a bit of dust collector for me these days….

    • Neddi Stanz
      Neddi Stanz 16 days ago

unfortunately i'm afraid a lot of great vintage heads are collecting dust these days - they served their purpose and now they collect dust - it's kind of sad - there should be a huge museum somewhere for all the old vintage gear for people to enjoy -

when you talk about your cabs facing the other way its sort of like when players put a plexiglass shield in front of there cabs i would imagine

it helps to cut the stage volume and helps the sound engineer

  • Vann Magruder

    What speakers/pickups do you use?

    • Neddi Stanz
      Neddi Stanz Month ago

@Vann Magruder i tried the 75watt Creambacks - they sounded good but i like the Greenbacks more

    • Vann Magruder
      Vann Magruder Month ago

@Neddi Stanz I love JBs I dump them in everything! And greenbacks are absolutely legit, been flirting with the idea of loading up a cab with medium creambacks

    • Neddi Stanz
      Neddi Stanz Month ago

for this video i was using a Peavey XXX cab loaded with Celestion Vintage 30's - the guitar has a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck - normally i use Orange cabs loaded with 25watt Greenbacks and Vintage 30's in an X pattern - the Greenbacks are the speakers that get mic'd

  • Dave Lindsey

Great playing and tone. Why did you sell? Was it the lack of a clean channel? Or you just like the JMP1 better?

    • Neddi Stanz
      Neddi Stanz Month ago

thanks - i just wasn't WOWED by it - that and the lack of a clean channel - so far i'm still very happy with the JMP1 rack rig i built - i like that i can dial in many different sounds to suit whatever song i'm playing -

Nedmeister, forgot to ask, is that the temple audio board? you digging it? I’m considering a new board, mine finally wore out after all the years. If so, you digging it?

    • Neddi Stanz
      Neddi Stanz Month ago

yes it is - i knew nothing about these boards when i bought it - i got it from a guy on Facebook Market Place - it's a great board with a bunch of options that i will probably never use - i had no idea what i was going to use it for when i bought it i just thought maybe i'd need something smaller at some point and that some point came sooner than i expected - it works perfect for my smaller "B" rig

  • A24Fretman
    A24Fretman Month ago

EPIC! Nice job Nedmeister! Hahahah I have the same Mosvalve amp, dinosaur, but sounds great and hasn’t quit me yet! And +1 on the Gforce. Haven't really needed to use any other FX other than Verb. Been using pcm70 for that. Man this is inspiring, gonna try out a similar build now, less the Fractal.

@Neddi Stanz ......i took two 6 inch speakers i pulled out of a record player cabinet my dad had that was bought back in the 60's....i remember hearing the four tops and englebert humperdink on it when i was a kid......so i built a cabinet for the two speakers and connected one of those 39 dollar mini fender amps to it, you know the ones that sound like a toy when play through them.......but anyway the mini amp sounds like a full size fender tube amp now....im impressed.....fender makes 3 other mini amps and im thinking of getting another one.....i think they are 60 bucks now but thats cheap for a little fun......might go to reverb or ebay and find them cheap.....just wanted to share in case you get bored and want to do the same thing for a good laugh and hone your woodworking skills this winter......maybe you have a speaker cab or two hanging around.....lol.....that would make a funny vid
