As others have said, you soak corn husks in warm water Tamales flummox ya'll??? Seriously!? Can you not purchase masa harina at your local market??? Tamales take for freaking ever to make if you are doing the meat and sauce from scratch...but they are absolutely delicious and easy to make. Tamales are a traditional Christmas dish where I live. The reason it is a social event is that families tend to have multiple recipes...and they make several of each tamale for each guest. I just found you guys, so this is an honest question: have you never made arepas...or conchas...or empanadas? Also...is it safe to use paperclips that have paint or plastic on them for cooking? Seriously? That is a hard pass from me!
